There's a lot of Eli haters around these days, but a perfect pass is not "pure luck". You know what? Every other pass Eli threw on that game-winning drive was also perfect. That's a whole lot of luck.
Honestly, I think the Giants drive was, BY FAR, the most iconic. Beating an 18-0 Patriots team, 2 Touchdown underdogs, a once-in-a-lifetime catch, a 4th down, had to score a touchdown. And, before you ask, I'm from Chicago, so I'm not a New Yorker.
Exactly! If the Patriots would have won, they would have been crowned the best team of all-time... hands down. However, they lost to a 10-6 team, with essentially no running game, best receiver used as a decoy all game, a terrible QB(in most people's eyes) and who were a two touchdown underdog. Bottom line, the best team of all time, with the goat at QB and the best record of all time(18-0) lost to a mediocre 6 loss team that no body gave a chance to.....simple EPIC
@@305CHICOXL you could say the same thing about super bowl 36. The greatest show on turf got beaten by a 6th round pick. Would’ve put number 10 at 6 and the Giants upset at 3
Yeah. And if "One Yard Short" hadn't happened, we'd talk about the Titans game-tying drive in Super Bowl 34 as one of the best clutch drives of all time. So many "almost clutch" drives in NFL history.
@@mikelomez9313 But it got them like half way there. They had to run like 3 more plays, and Eli finished the drive with an amazing pass for a td. But Seattle catches the pass. And then throw a 1 yard pass. Not clutch. just a lucky AF catch, rush for a play, and throw an easy pass Vs scramble and launch a pass to Tyree, and he makes a clutch catch. And like i already said, he has to run a few more plays afterwards
I honestly was surprised to see that drive at 6. Simply just due to the fact that the opponent was the best team in the league against multiple HoF'ers at the most high pressure game of the year. It was the game that was potentially rewriting history with the Pats ending it with a legendary undefeated season.
Fun fact about the Joe Montana drive vs Cincinnati in super bowl 23 Joe Montana was hyperventilating and Joe Montana tried to call timeout but Bill Walsh overruled him. Then Joe Montana was hyperventilating again and he tried to call timeout and once again Bill Walsh overruled him and said no. So he did that drive while hyperventilating that's just awesome. Courtesy of 1988 49ers America's game. Joe Montana also hyperventilated after throwing that touchdown pass to Dwight Clark in the 81 NFC Championship Game.
That Edelman catch was the first moment I genuinely believed we were going to pull off the comeback, up until that point it was more hope than expectation

Foles game winning drive against the Pats in SB52... the fourth down conversion where Ertz had to stretch over the first down spot... that should be top ten
I’m so glad that was number 1 cause i started to get nervous, I know everyone hates the pats but the reality is one of the absolute best winning drive quarterbacks that’s ever been witnessed from college to 2016
I think he means the OT drive, which I have to agree with because once the pats won the toss everyone knew it was over, it was getting to that point that was amazing to watch
That drive was where you knew the game was over. It had a miracle catch, a drive the entire length of the field, a successful two point conversion, and led to a superbowl victory. There is no drive better than this.
Great stuff all around . John Elway is Captain Clutch , Captain Comeback , he spent most of his career scrambling and coming back to win . American football is the greatest game on earth.
It should be Number 1 to me I Thought that was Called "The Drive" not the Elway Drive!! When I think of the Drive I think of Montana to Taylor and how that Drive was set up in SB XXIII
The last drive of regulation is Super Bowl LI should’ve been in the 3-5 range. The totality of the comeback is the best ever, but by that point the dam had broken, the Falcons D was gassed and the end was almost inevitable. The 2 point conversion does add to it though
If there’s a video about clutch you know Eli is gonna be on it, dudes gotten a bad rep with fans over the years but when it comes down to it, dude is CLUTCH.
His numbers are piss-poor. He did throw a straight up DART to Mario Manningham though. Defense won both of those Super Bowls though. The defenses put them in a position to have a CHANCE at a stupid helmet catch, or a mortar shot to Manningham.
There is no more clutch drive than the first Giants Pats Super Bowl. I can't see anything more clutch, clutch, than that. It made the best team ever to take the field into a footnote.
Dumb luck does not = clutch. 2 dropped INT's, a helmet catch play that should've been called back for (a) holding, (b) a facemask, (c) in the grasp, and (d) two DB's pulling up instead of ganging up on the receiver. First Giants Pats Super Bowl shouldn't even be in the top FIFTY.
The thing about that is that #1 on this list absolutely is the greatest comeback of all time but as a drive? the entire 4th quarter and overtime of that SB was full of drives? How do you pick one? Nothing stands out to me. When I think of a drive to win a game, I think of THE DRIVE. period.
Joe Shay Yea but The Drive was back in the 80s. It's been 30 years of football played since it got its title. Just because it has the name and was great back then doesn't guarantee it the #1 spot for eternity.
As a Saints I vote for Bret Favre with the Vikings final drive of the game before overtime in the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP game. That 3rd down throw to Tracy Porter was beyond clutch and saved the Saints season.
To me, there are a few open mouth "UWAAAAAAAH!" *High pitch shock noise* moments in NFL history where it absolutely boggled your mind it could've happened, and that it did happen as you saw it, both with the same presence. Asante Samuel to me, not picking that ball off, Asante Samuel! Was utterly shocking to me in a way the field goal kick for the 1998 championship game between the Vikings and Falcons took my breath away. I absolutely could not believe at that time he didn't secure that, and that to me spelled the doom for that Patriots team moreso then the Tyree play.
I know its "one of the greatest plays in superbowl history" but #60 of the giants gets away with a massive hold on # 93 of the pats- 13:23. That's unreal, just got one arm wrapped around him, tugging from behind, how could the refs miss that? They just wanted to make the game more interesting
Brady against the Falcons will always remain one of my favorite 2nd half comebacks ever. I called it during half time. Vinny Testaverde and the Jets comeback win over the Dolphins is a close second. This is coming from a Packers fan.
MIDNIGHTKILL69 Edelman’s was not as good as Tyree’s. Sure, great concentration by Edelman. But The Tyree catch was way more important... the Edelman catch was on 1st down. They probably would have scored a td anyways. The Tyree catch was for the super bowl and it was on 3rd down. Not only did Tyree make an amazing catch, Eli Manning got out of a pile of Patriots trying to sack him.
Edeman's catch caused the Falcons to burn a timeout before the 2 minute warning. And it was SKILL. MF Tyree was luck. Mario's catch was skill too not going to deny tht one but Edelman's catch >>>
TY YT Yes, great catch but you realize it helped them win the Superbowl from a 25 point deficit in OT! And idk about being better. Not saying your wrong but we all have opinions
46 and 42 should be higher. Those were some of the best drives I've ever seen! Unsung hero on the last drive of 42: Steve Smith's catch and out of bounds on 3rd and 11 right before the touchdown.
They should be IMO, however, they are ALOT of GIANTS Haters out there who are pissy that Brady has a couple of GIANT dings in his armor. Many People feel the GIANTS weren't worthy enough to beat the Patriots. To those people I say, oh well, get the blank over it, the Pats lost. Sure the Pats got 6 Rings, it could've been 9. HA HA.
never beat any team ever called "great" no one outside Ca. can name any team he beat in a super bowl. the most boring forgettable stretch of SB's ever overrated so much.
He DID drive the Pats for the go-ahead score in SB 42. Only problem was, his defense, specifically A$ante $amuel, gave it back. $amuel was the one who gave up the TD that put the Giants ahead, 10-7, he dropped the INT prior to the helmet catch, and didn't go hit Tyree DURING the helmet catch. All of those happened in the 4th quarter. If he makes ONE of those plays, we're talking about 19-0, not a helmet catch. And where the F&*k was James Sanders? I remember a play in 2003's Divisional round b/t the Pats and Titans, Pats up three, Steve McNair heaves up a prayer to Drew Bennett, and 3 DB's make sure to separate Bennett from the ball. I'll never understand why that didn't happen on the helmet catch play. That drive shouldn't even be on the list because it was a defensive choke job. The only New England Sports choke I can think of that was bigger was the Bruins blowing a 3-0 lead in 2010 to the Flyers. That was worse because in the Super Bowl it's one game, and ANYTHING can happen in one game. This was four straight when all you need is an OT goal in Game 4 and...oh hell, never mind you know the damn story. One more thing. The drive from SB 46, I have to admit, should be higher, like Top 3 or 4.
Santonios catch was a 10 but Ben Rothlesbergers throw was a 5??! Wooowww you do it then bro. Besides Manning to Manningham that’s one of the best throw/catches in Super Bowl history come on
Hey guys. Just cruising by the comment section to laugh at all the people all upset with the list and them posting thier own lists and all the pats haters as well. Always a good laugh. sincerely, Lifetime Pats fan.
"The Drive"... is the top clutch drive in NFL history. 98 yards, on the road, in the elements, with the SB on the line...what more could be done? That was football at it's finest. Only a few QBs could have done that, and Elway did it.
WITHOUT A DOUBT EAGLES GW DRIVE IN SUPER BOWL 52 WILL MAKE THE NEW LIST... Took off 7 minutes, killed the clock and game, went for it on 4th down in their own half. Unbelievable
I believe The Drive by John Elway that sent the Broncos to Super Bowl XXI, The Catch (from 1981), the 49ers' drive to win Super Bowl XXIII, the Colts' drive to win the 1958 Championship Game, and the Packers' drive to win the Ice Bowl should have been the top five. I also would have added the Raiders' Ghost To The Post in the 1977 AFC Divisional Playoff (first to tie the game, and then to beat the Colts in double OT) to this list.
It isn't just Rodney. Where the hell were A$ante $amuel and James Sanders? Refer to my diatribe above on the difference b/t this and the 2003 Divisional round.
As a life-long Broncos fan, and despite it literally being called "The Drive"... it pains me to say I'm forced to give up the #1 "clutch drive" spot to the Patriots in SuperBowl LI. That phenomenal catch by Edelman with the ball only like 5cm from the ground is the stuff of legend. Funny, the Pats also used that drive to tie and inevitably win the game, albeit for the grandest prize!
How are you NOT gonna have the guy with the 3-28 shirt talk about that last one lmao
Ok

I think he means the OT drive, which I have to agree with because once the pats won the toss everyone knew it was over, it was getting to that point that was amazing to watch
tedfio1tedfio1 no he’s right, the second it went into overtime, you just knew the game was over. You knew New England was gonna win
That drive was where you knew the game was over. It had a miracle catch, a drive the entire length of the field, a successful two point conversion, and led to a superbowl victory. There is no drive better than this.
Julian Edelman got something to say bout dat
Great stuff all around . John Elway is Captain Clutch , Captain Comeback , he spent most of his career scrambling and coming back to win . American football is the greatest game on earth.
Top 10 Defensive Stands
How is super bowl 42 not #1? This is about clutch drives. EVERY SINGLE PLAY on that drive was clutch. Every single player too
If #4 wasn’t cold. It shouldn’t be on the list
I get why it is #10, but sb36 is maybe the most significant drive in NFL history given what it was the start of
how is super bowl 42 only at 6??
I wonder if the Chiefs Wasp drive might be in one of these lists in the future. I know it wasn't for the lead but it sparked the comeback
The Montana led drive in Super Bowl XXlll should be higher.
It should be Number 1 to me I Thought that was Called "The Drive" not the Elway Drive!! When I think of the Drive I think of Montana to Taylor and how that Drive was set up in SB XXIII
0:16 by an older QB 14 years later that was down 28-3 and thought the game was a blowout.
Super bowl 42 should be higher!
The TD pass to Plaxico Burress was one of the best throws he’s ever seen Eli Manning make??? BURRESS WAS WIDE OPEN!!!
Of course number one is Brady
How could it not be? Clutch drives is kinda what he does for a living.
this is such a great list! so much controversy and i love it.
Super bowl 23 was a good one- I was such a Ickey Woods fan - I'll never forget Tim Krumries ankle un-twisting (gross)
Bill Walsh's last game as a coach for the 49ers and Montana drives down to beat the Bengals 20-16 in SB XXIII.
Eli Manning made this list twice, and people still question if he's a first ballot HOF
Both of them in the Super Bowl too
The last drive of regulation is Super Bowl LI should’ve been in the 3-5 range. The totality of the comeback is the best ever, but by that point the dam had broken, the Falcons D was gassed and the end was almost inevitable. The 2 point conversion does add to it though
I still can't watch the tyree catch oh God it hurts so much
Pablo Mateo Piñas it hurts me too
9:38 -- Dude snatched that ball up, and got the hell outta there real quick.!.
Yes indeed.
@@BaconFrisbee go look at his qbr for both super bowl runs.
#1 has to be "The Drive" It's called "The Drive"!!!!!!
for five that is
The thing about that is that #1 on this list absolutely is the greatest comeback of all time but as a drive? the entire 4th quarter and overtime of that SB was full of drives? How do you pick one? Nothing stands out to me. When I think of a drive to win a game, I think of THE DRIVE. period.
Joe Shay Yea but The Drive was back in the 80s. It's been 30 years of football played since it got its title. Just because it has the name and was great back then doesn't guarantee it the #1 spot for eternity.
Why? just bc it's cllaed the drive? what's your argument?
You do know that The Drive just tied the game and they won in overtime with a field goal?
I hope NBA have these kind of videos
lol Chris Simms forced to say nice things about Tom Brady. Biggest Brady hater along with max Kellerman and rob Parker
DeadMoNeyProductions BP Agh, stupid Rob Parker.
As a Saints I vote for Bret Favre with the Vikings final drive of the game before overtime in the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP game. That 3rd down throw to Tracy Porter was beyond clutch and saved the Saints season.
The drive for FIVE better be #1 on this list
Was waiting for #1
Even if Asante Samuel had made that interception his foot came down out of bounds interception would’ve been negated
What? He clearly landed with both feet safely in.
15:09
Refs miss important calls all the time. Sometimes it goes for the team you want, other times it doesn't
Brady against the Falcons will always remain one of my favorite 2nd half comebacks ever. I called it during half time. Vinny Testaverde and the Jets comeback win over the Dolphins is a close second. This is coming from a Packers fan.
Really had to use tht thumbnail
Right, should of used the Edelman's Catch!!
That was manningham not tyree
HA HA.
#1 makes sense
it does
Coming from a Falcons fan, it would've been a crime that the drive by Brady against us wouldn't have been number 1
This might sound crazy but the drive by nick foles in super bowl 52 might have a place on this list
I lived in Cleveland during the Elway drive...it was painful.
"Drive for Five" at Number One as it should be!!!
TB12 = GOAT
#9 drive started at the 49ers 11 yard line which included a couple of runs to throw them off.
#1: Montana, #2: Montana, #3: Montana, #4: Montana, #5: Montana, #6: Montana, #7: Montana, #8: Montana, #9: Montana, #10: Montana
never beat any team ever called "great" no one outside Ca. can name any team he beat in a super bowl. the most boring forgettable stretch of SB's ever
overrated so much.
Joe Montana is the GOAT. You're just Mark Edwards spreading revisionist history on youtube LOL.
Mr. Math Expert #1 Wyoming etc..
What about Idaho
2ND BEST QB OF ALL TIME
Honorable mention: miracle in motown. Coming from a broncos fan.
Tom Brady clutch? Yeah, he showed us this at Michigan! He just kept it going in the NFL. Well, except when it comes to Big Blue. :)
What about the mile high stadium throw from joe flacco, that was legendary
I remember #1 vividly
Edit: Who else does
Well yeah, it just happened earlier this year. I would be concerned for you if you didn't remember it vividly.
Joe Shay haha
Celtics Fann man I remember this. It was so good to see that patriots being beat. Until then falcons just decided to let the patriots win
oddly enough i remember super bowl 49 better
CardzBitz 119 hahahahahah "let" them win
I never knew the Cowboys ever played in the post season. But I’ve only been watching football for 25 years.
W
Giants 07 Super Bowl should be way higher, come on that's way too low on the list
"The Drive"... is the top clutch drive in NFL history. 98 yards, on the road, in the elements, with the SB on the line...what more could be done? That was football at it's finest. Only a few QBs could have done that, and Elway did it.
Really the pats number 1.. shocker.. all these people who make the list are all pats fans
How is the Drive not number one? It made the catagory.
WITHOUT A DOUBT EAGLES GW DRIVE IN SUPER BOWL 52 WILL MAKE THE NEW LIST... Took off 7 minutes, killed the clock and game, went for it on 4th down in their own half. Unbelievable
Killed the game? No, the strip-sack on the ensuing drive didn't even do that, because it took you getting away with DPI on the hail-mary to win.
I also would have added the Raiders' Ghost To The Post in the 1977 AFC Divisional Playoff (first to tie the game, and then to beat the Colts in double OT) to this list.
to this day i still dont get why tf is rodney harrison trying to high point the ball. just fking tackle him and its gona be 4th down. smfh.
What are you talking about?
drkInxgud lmao facts
It isn't just Rodney. Where the hell were A$ante $amuel and James Sanders? Refer to my diatribe above on the difference b/t this and the 2003 Divisional round.
I think the Rams’ Super Bowl 56 game winning drive last night deserves a spot on a new top 10 drives show.
The only thing about that drive is there was some controversy
Some of these guys are a joke
How do you rate that top three ahead of the Ice Bowl and the two drives by the Giants to beat the Pats?
Brady's "drive" starts at 28 -3 and ends in over time with them winning, if you can't see that as the best drive ever your just a pats/Brady hater.
SuperJohn12354 it really overrated as a falcon fan myself. You being biased at that point pat drive in their 1st superbowl was better
Chance of pats winning at 28- 3 was 0.09%
As a life-long Broncos fan, and despite it literally being called "The Drive"... it pains me to say I'm forced to give up the #1 "clutch drive" spot to the Patriots in SuperBowl LI. That phenomenal catch by Edelman with the ball only like 5cm from the ground is the stuff of legend. Funny, the Pats also used that drive to tie and inevitably win the game, albeit for the grandest prize!
Tom Brady is the GOAT
I will always and forever hate Tom Brady, but god damn if I don't respect him. He's an amazing quarterback.
Without question.
Manning>Brady y’all will never learn
Peyton_fcking_money yeah right😂
Always right
