    I have to say while the shooting is amazing, the best part of this series is Jerry going through the history and explaining each firearm fully before shooting. Keep shooting Jerry!

    Great review by the master. I've owned over a dozen 1911s over the past 45 years and used several as carry guns in spite of their size and weight. Now I carry a 9mm Shield with Apex flat faced trigger, green CT laser and big dots, but I still keep a S&W 1911sc as a vehicle gun and a Kimber for home gun. Nothing like a 1911 trigger!

      Same here. Trying to decide if I'm going to stick with the HK45C as a backup or go with a wheelgun or a smaller 1911 as backup. Cannot recommend the HK45c enough for a similar-to-1911 experience with optional DA/SA or LEM-trigger function, though....That said nothing I've shot so far has beaten my SIG 1911 that I customized a bit, obviously there are better out there but for me personally, within my budget, it was the best.
      What's your 1911 of choice?

    You’re the best, sir! When I was in the Marine Corps we all thought 1911s weren’t very accurate. Obviously the pistols we had weren’t designed to be super accurate. My dad carried one in Germany and Korea. I don’t think he ever shot anyone with his but he always liked 1911s.

  • @chipsterb4946
    @chipsterb4946 Год назад +1

    Mr. Miculek - please don’t regurgitate what some S&W publicist wrote without checking it. Browning Hi-Powers also had internal extractors until 1962 or thereabouts. My 1944 Inglis Hi-Power has an internal extractor. That is how the pistol was designed, just like the 1911.
    I have the utmost respect for you and your incredible combination of talent, skills, and work ethic. I have watched hours and hours of video from both you and Lena, and this is the only time time I’ve heard something that is not factually correct.

    .22 TCM which is the 9x19 necked down to 0.22" so it's also centerfire and was introduced in Rock Island Armory's 1911 platform.

    • @MacCaskill
      @MacCaskill 6 лет назад +1

      The .22 TCM is NOT based on the 9X19 Parabellum case.
      The parent case is the 5.56X45 NATO shortened to 26 mm length (1.022 in).
      The overall cartridge length is approximately the same as a loaded .38 Super and the Rock Island.22 TCM uses .38 Super magazines.

    I once had a license to shoot..about 18 years ago... here in Aus our laws are very strict..didn't submit enough targets each year due to all kinds of stuff... so my license was revoked... fair enough...never owned a gun though.... used to cherish my range time with the Stainless .45 1911 Club pistol... used to shoot 200+ rounds at a time on the range... nothing like Jerry though... 7 rounds at a time... just enjoying putting holes in paper at 25 metres.... Loved that thing....wonderful, simple and very reliable handgun..... Jerry... you are above next level!!! That trigger finger should be on the WMD watchlist!!! lol.. Excellent groupings at rapid fire too!! yikes!!!

    Ran the guantlet from the M9 in the service to G19, HK MK23, HK45c (my favorite compact thus far), M&P Shield 9mm (backup, or a wheelgun, chiappa white rhino 20ds-30ds or Smith and Wesson snub /w hammer), anyway, after a fairly good experience with a Kimber (as problem-free as any other semi-auto I've ever owned or operated with), Springfield Operator, and a few others I settled on the somewhat controversial SIG SAUER 1911. Absolutely love it, full-sized Scorpion which is my current carry with an HK P30SK 9mm DA/SA as a backup. I feel supremely confident with this combo or a good .357 wheelgun as backup

    • @TheBoxingCannabyte
      @TheBoxingCannabyte 5 лет назад +3

      I like mine, my 1911 is a bit different being a dark earth tan and g-10 grips with the flared mag well, it's different and I guess I just take to those things most people I know operate with Glocks, I go HK, most people with wheelguns use Ruger or Smith, I go Chiappa, lol. Beretta M9 and SIG P226 remain my two favorite DA/SA pistols except for HK, though I prefer HK's LEM trigger so...to each their own, right?
      That said I prefer a GI-length guide rod on mine and it has a 17 lb wilson combat flat recoil spring but I might put in a 22 lb regular old Colt spring.
