Obviously, this suit was salvaged from a downed ship lost in warp-transit during the Indomitus Crusade. I am starting to believe this world quite possibly exists in the Eye.

I think an amazing way for Potato to actually be in the armor is for it to be retrofitted with a sturdy endoskeleton. Then, a cockpit will be added in the torso, allowing Potato to pilot the armor like a mech.

What ya got there is a suit of Primaris Gravis Armor, in the livery of the Ultramarines Chapter. Power sword, wrist-mounted bolter... quite the mighty piece of kit.
Don't forget this is the Captain version so it has that sweet "Iron Halo" force field array, guaranteed to save your life 2/3rds of the time all the time

I really wish the old _H. G. Wells' Time Machine_ story type, of an advanced traveler from the past encountering regressed savages in the future, was more common.
It's like isekai (portal fantasy) without the cringe, or necessarily requiring dimensional/time travel shenanigans.
EDIT: Now that I think about it… with films like Pandorum, the regressed future doesn't have to imply some sort of doomsday scenario for Earth either.

I don’t know how or when pavel got that suit… but let me say this SOMEONE is going to look for it.
How do I know? Because that is a chapter relic of the ultramarines! (Translation this is an astartes primaris power armor something rare and plus seeing how this is a captain armor?! A certain group WILL be looking for this)
As much that I would love to see little potato with a friendly space marine (salamanders) but this something she should be messing with.
Plus besides the fact she needs a black carapace let me also say she is way too small to wear it! Even if she would be big enough doubt she could move the five ton armor around.
One other thing… AI doesn’t mean Artificial intelligence in the imperium, they mean ABOMINABLE intelligence. Why? Look up the men of iron…

From my understanding the black carapace isn't strictly speaking needed as there are notable examples of power armor being used by those lacking it, with the black carapace being more a matter of optimal than needed
@@James-ep2bx Okay that depends on the power armor and there is a lot of questionable official sources.
Let me find the best way to explain without breaking the word limit.
There are multiple different pattern of power armors 90% require the black carapace. I believe the pattern of armor your think of is one you would find on inquisitors (Ignatus Power Armour). That armor isn’t like a astartes and yes anyone can wear it.
But it must be tailored to someone’s body shape like actual armor AND it has a limited power source which drains surprisingly quickly. Which it then becomes a prison for the person inside unable to move or speak.
As for the sister of battle, they don’t have the black carapace, yes, but they must under go surgery to add a series bionic that mimic a black carapace geneseed implant.
And finally void armor… this armor isn’t power armor which it gets confused for but it was the armor of the solar auxilia used during the heresy. It was a completely sealed armor for well void based conflicts in space. Also used as chemical and biohazard warfare and the more heavier suit has a exoskeleton outside of the armor. But it’s not power armor mind you just really good heresy-era basic armor. (Which I think it’s trying to make a comeback in 40k)

@@Jack2the7ripper that still means the black carapace isn't strictly speaking a technical requirement for power armor, which in turn means those less bound by the mechanicuses dogma could theoretically bypass the need for it. Plus IIRC wasn't there a human empire destroyed during the great crusade that used power armor comparable to that era's SM without gene modification, thus no black carapace, though those could be similar to the sororitus armor... Then there's the new complications from the reintroduction of the leagues of Votom which while technically not imperials they share the same technological foundation in DAT humanity. To be clear I'm not saying it would be practical or easy, simply possible, thus shifting the lack of a black carapace from a prohibiting factor to an obstructing one. It's the difference between no fuel vs no break fluid
@@James-ep2bx This isn’t IIRC power armor… this is astartes power armor. The two are vastly different if potato got a IIRC power armor than that would be different. This on the other hand requires the black carapace, like all astartes power armor.
This is a set of mark X gravis power armor designed for primaris space marines and there genetic implants. It’s impossible for potato to wear that armor or anyone else unless they are a primaris marine.

And your response kinda missed my point which was unless something is intrinsically necessary for a type of technology to function, like say fuel in an internal combustion engine, it can be worked around, and the mere presence of power armor based on the same technology as it that doesn't have require a black carapace, indicates the black carapace isn't a technological requirement. Your claim is basically that it's designed to have one there for one is needed, and while in the tech dogmatism of the mechancum that may by true, we're not talking about it in that context. So the question isn't what it's supposed to need to function, what's the absolute requirements to function. And in such context the presence of comparable systems within technical lineage that doesn't have the same requirements tends to suggest said item isn't inherently needed
