The 3L is the ultimate man-bag, have had one for several years now and replaced a Hugo Boss leather man-bag. The 3L is great for opening and able to see everything inside. The previous Hugo bag brought to my attention the problem ladies have with their handbags, when you open them and it's a dark pit and it's difficult to find/see anything in there. The Peak Design 3L has light coloured interior fabric and everything is easy to find/see.
Thanks for your review of the updated features!
This is awesome. Thanks!
I ordered yesterday 5lLone. Wanted to buy 6L, but I saw a 5L one on sale for 50 USD, plus free shipping to the border town of Canada, where I have to pay 3.75 USD for receiving my good and I have to pay Washington Tax of around 4$. I first try to checkout with my laptop., then thought I have to check it physically in a local shop. later at night, I thought that it will be sold out very soon. then in Bed, I opened it with my mobile, saw 45 dollars and bought it the right way. I'm in my mid-60s and in bad health and I need this lightweight sling bag. Although I have a hip or shoulder bag from Cullmann of Germany and the bag is made in Germany with German parts and I never saw good quality like that in the shop or online. I bought it 25 years ago from Leo camera shop and it was the best looking and ergonomic. The problem is that it is heavier for me. I have other backpacks, even the Swedish Bobblbee backpack(not the camera bag one- which is very expensive) and it works well, but again I can't carry it due to my health and I'm not young anymore, but in mind, I feel I'm young like before. Waiting for the sling bag.
Thanks for showing how it looks on you at the end! As a 5’10 me myself, this really helped
Glad it helped man! :)
- Ed
There aren't many brands I trust more implicitly than Peak Design. I fly with the 30L everyday bp and the 6L sling religiously.
Thanks for the demonstration. I think I have found my new camera/ purse bag. I think this bag is stylish enough to replace my handbag, and even if no camera, It is versatile and stylish enough for urban areas. I passed over this bag on camera sites, but with this video, I really see the compartments and slips and "real life" product.
yes I think I found my new camera/handbag as well
Thanks for the presentation and for show it in situation !
You're welcome. Thanks for the support!
Can you fit a A7 with the 24-70mm 2.8 in the 3L bag?
Yes
Great video, thanks mate 👍🏽
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! -John
Although the bigger tablet space on the 6L would be nice. I think I’ll wait till my 5L has had enough, not enough for me to want to upgrade.
The cheaper old generations will be a steal now though 👍
Great! Is the 10l strap wider than the 6l strap?
Really nice review. Thank you.
Glad you liked it :D
- Ed
Will it 70-200 STM lens fit
great video man. Thanks for the insight. I've been think about a Peak Design bag and I still can't make up my mind on what would be best for someone like me.
Great review, congrats. Even better than PD's product videos. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Gabor - that means a lot!
Thanks for watching! :)
- Ed
Do you prefer black or ash for 3l?
Your my bag info hero !
Glad to help! - Ed
which material are nicer?? black or ash?
I am looking for a bag for my Nikon z50 and 2 kit lens ..which one will fit?
I reckon the 6L is ideal, but if you cant then you'd have to opt for the larger size.
Hope that helps - Ed
Well done! What is the approximate inside usable size of the 3L as it seems PD isn't measuring the full inside space in their specs but rather a subset of the space for some reason.
Great video! Thank you for your work. Very helpful.
Glad you're enjoying our content!
- Ed
Hi Ed great video thanks for keeping us informed with new designs companies are coming out with. I like the 3L it’s a nice looking bag but I don’t carry cameras. Would this be a deal breaker for this bag. I don’t know if anyone would know if this can just be used as a daily carry. I like the strap adjustment looks like it work very well. I tend to use my slings back and forth in the back and the front so having a good management strap system is important to me. Can this strap system work well for moving bag a lot of times back and front chest carry is what I mean not Fanny style. Any information on this would be fantastic. 🙋🏻♀️ thanks.
What size would fit my Canon RP + RF14-105mm + RF35mm?
Can the 6L fit an R6 with a 70-200 EF lens?
Can we put the Ipad 11 inch into the EverydaySling 6L???
Hi Tristan. Hope this helps:
MAX TABLET CARRY
25cm x 18cm x .6cm (9.74" x 7.02" x 0.23")
Holds 11" iPad Pro.
Thanks for your help. It really helps me to look for what the best suit is for me.
Very informative video.
Glad you think so! Thanks for watching. - Prikee
Thank you... good review
great video, very useful
If photography is art, how can you say these bags are Gorgeous.
Nice vid, which size do you prefer?
Hey Marco! Thanks for the support! Size depends on how much you are looking to carry but you can't go wrong with any of these :) - John
I wish you showed the midnight blue six liter it's okay you made a great video I love your presentation Peak design should pay you for doing such a great video on there camera bags thank you again my friend
Will the 10L fit a 13 inch MBP?
Out of stock for the black 6L! Any idea when it will be back in stock?
Hmm at the moment we don't have any restock orders happening right now, but I imagine we should be restocking soon.
Sorry not to much of a help there sorry! :(
- Ed
Hi, thanks for the review. Can you please check if they fixed the old problem that the first 5l version had: the straps gradually slipped from the buckles where it connects to the bag.
Hey there! Glad you liked the review!
Are you asking if the straps dont stay at the position they're set on by the buckles? I.e - they loosen over time?
@@RushfasterTV yes
Hi that problem was fixed in the later version of the 5l by adding a system to fix the straps
What are the key differences between the Sling 10L V1 and the Sling L10 V2?
Really helpful about size..many thanks!
Can you fit an iPad pro 11 or 12.9 inch in the 6L ?
I think a 11" ipad pro would fit, but not a 12.9"?
No, not according to the PD site. The smaller one yeah, but not the 12.9. Thats the 10L youd need
Agree with the previous commenters! Yes to a 11" but no to the 12.9 unfortunately - that's a job for the 10L. Hope that helps! - Ed
can you fit a ipad pro 11 with a case??
@@lawyerz88 I think that would really depend on how thick the case is. You'd have to do some of your own measurements on that.
Peak Design have provided these numbers for the tablet sleeve.
25cm x 18cm x .6cm (9.74" x 7.02" x 0.23")
Hope that helps! - Ed
Is the 6L good for iPad Pro?
No it won't fit an iPad pro unfortunately, that'll be something for the 10L. Hope that helps - Ed
I prefer the look of the 5L V1 tbh
Yeah before this release I had the 5L - still loving the look!
- Ed
Great video. Did they change the padding of the straps? I had the original 10L and the strap was the worst thing about it. Thanks
Hmm I don't think they did, or if they did - there wasn't a noticeable difference :/
Can you fit the new macbook pro 14" in the 10L V2 sling?? And if how is it fit?
Hi there, sorry the 14" won't fit. The 10L V2 sling has a padded tablet sleeve for up to 13” tablets or 13” laptops. - Prikee
@@RushfasterTV thank you for that info. I think I will go for the Messenger V2 then .
can you fit a canon 60 with kit lens into a 3L bag? or would you recomend the 6L?
6 liter
Go for the BIggest you can afford
Hi i bought the 6l sling but i see that the material is too rough and it damage my clothes ! Do you have the same problem ?
Hmm we've never come across that problem before with the new slings. Have you spoken to Peak Design about this? I'm assuming your clothes are beginning to pill?
- Ed
Can I put a telescope lens like 70-200 GM inside the 6L V2 one with a camera body? If so, how much space left?
Hmm I would've thought that it'd be tight - but Peak Design actually state on their site that it can carry "a full-frame DSLR + 70-200 pro lens".
So I guess so then! :)
You can check out more of their claims here:
www.peakdesign.com/products/everyday-sling?variant=29742302068780
Will the small 3L be able to handle the IPAD mini 5 tablet?
There's no dedicated tablet sleeve for the 3L (sorry for not being clear on that), but if you packed the sling without the FlexFold dividers, you could probably fit an iPad Mini in there yes! Hope that helps! - Ed
Awesome. Just subbed. Great review and just what I was looking for.
a7iii + tamron 28-75 can it fit in 3L inside ? thanks :)
I think I’’ll take the small one thanks for the vid
Great review thanks. Ordered a 6L on the back of this video.
Thanks man! Hope the 6L serves you well!
- Ed
Amazing Review !
Does 3L include cord hooks and tablet sleeve? How much horizontal interior space does it have?
Yes for the cork hooks, no for the tablet sleeve (sorry for not making that clear! :O)
These are the internal dimensions for the 3L's interior: 19.8cm x 8.9cm x 6.4cm
Hope that helps! - Ed
@@RushfasterTV hey guys, i suspect the internal dimensions for the 3L might be inaccurate. i double-checked on peak's website before commenting, and they have the same numbers as what you listed.
in theory, if the external size of the bag is 30.5cm wide, then it makes little sense that the internal would be 19.8cm wide. Over 10cm cannot be accounted to the thickness alone. I suspect the internal width is actually 29.8cm, rather than 19.8. Likewise, the height looks way too tall in the video to be just 8.9cm, and just like the difference between external and internal, there was no way to account for a missing 10cm.
In conclusion, i suspect the internal dimensions to be 29.8cm wide, 18.9cm tall, and 6.4cm deep (only at the narrowest point), before opening in depth to something closer to 11cm at the top area.
somehow all the measurements did not really make sense to me. maybe peak design make a typo error?
Please pardon me for my OCD approach to numbers. As someone evaluating to buy something without the chance to touch/feel it, i become supper analytical with every number, comma, and full-stop on the website.
thank you for the great video!
@@DennisLimCY that's what i felt too after reading the specs on peak's website, i'm ok without the tablet sleeve but i'm more concern about how the bag fits after fitting in the ipad mini as personally i am gonna order the 3L and 10L sling and the 15L backpack zip.
Thinking about fitting the 3L into the 15L backpack so it acts as a tech pouch (which i also own), so when i carry a bit more space i'll just make the 3L a fanny pack and carry both backpack and sling bag
@@DennisLimCY I saw the specs and thought the same! I was comparing the 3L dimensions with the ones from an old Lowepro Format 140 that I have and it just didn't make any sense. In that old Lowepro I can fit my Lumix G7 with 2 primes and a telephoto, extra batteries, charger, cables and Rode VideoMicro (tight fit, but it's possible), but by just looking at the dimensions it seemed that the way to go was either a V1 5L or a V2 6L. But I want something compact that I can throw inside my backpack or use on its own like the 3L.
@@DennisLimCY Just noticed that the external dimensions for the 3L and the 5 L are basically the same!
5L 12.2" (31cm) x 7.48" (19cm) x 4.33" (11cm)
3L 30.5cm x 19cm x 11cm (12" x 7.4" x 4.3")
Could you make a review of the bellroy laptop brief 13"?
Great explanation! I own all three ;)
Awesome thank you. 6L for me
Could you do me a solid and see if a 15” mbp fits the 10l? Thanks fam
rr narratives it only fits a 13” MBP at most
Matt Do good looking out brother!
yep only fits a 13" I'm afraid! :O
- Ed
Matt Do I got a 10LV2 and it is a very tight fit for my 2018 12.9” iPad Pro. Just adding for an FYI.
The V2 10L looks much bigger (not in a good way) than V1.
Yeah it's definitely taken up some height in the 10L sling. But by the sounds of things, it seemed that it was what the people wanted (much more variety in sling sizes). - Ed
@@RushfasterTV They're bigger - the main purpose is to accommodate laptops or tablets better.
I have the v1 10L, and one of the main things I don’t like about it is how bulky it is. V2 is considerably flatter, and to me it’s a plus. At the moment I’m curious about the 6L, would like a smaller bag with space for my iPad Pro. The hip bag option could possibly work while biking, whereas the V1 10L is a no go on a bike with an aggressive riding position.
Hi Ed, I wanted to ask what tripod you are carrying at 4:05?
It's a Manfrotto Compact Action Tripod!
- Ed
great Bags but still too expensive for most folks with children or retired here in Uk.
V1 is a nicer bag for a camera bag. V2 is a soft, mushy bottom and won't really protect your expensive camera as well as the V1. V1 has a fold-over lid. Really easy to get at your gear. V2 is more of a slit-type opening. Made it hard to remove my Canon. Original design was much more photographer-friendly.
Call me crazy but I swear there’s room for an extra pocket in the back. The area that you put the strap to shorten it totally has enough space for another pocket.
Great review bro
Thanks Mate!
The Everyday Bag of Forever Holding
Thanks for a great video which helped me decide which to buy ,much more sensible than Peak Design’s own effort. There’s only so much “humour “ one can take
Did they ditch the theft-detterant in this v2?
No, the theft-deterrant is still there
can I put a 13 inch MacBook inside the 6L sling?
I'm not sure how i feel about the 6L when it is stuffed. Looks so round and nothing like the profile in official renderings.
That's all bags tbh
Great overview
Thanks Diego.
Will , I just buy my 5L sling a week ago , feel sad !
Where are you based? If you're in AU, you could list it for sale on facebook.com/groups/1812559155740973/ otherwise there's always the Carryology group facebook.com/groups/carryologyclassifieds/
go and have a glass of warm milk and go to bed then
surface book 2 13 inch in 10L ?
anything 320x220 will work
I have the v1 10L sling, been watching review on the v2, seeing that my zipper thread is coming off at the corners, so I'm looking to replace it. However from what I can see, attaching a travel tripod is more of a pain in ass with these v2 as opposed to v1 to me that's a design flaw. In making it more styish and sleak, but much less functional than v1. Not sure if these new zippers will will have the same flaws as v1 where its the stitching rather than the zipper that was the weak point of the design. Think I'll pass on v2.
I too have the v1 10L sling. Also had issues with the zipper. Peak Design has a lifetime warranty for their bags. And they replaced my bag twice for free already. Suggest you look into it.
I have it too and the front pocket I can put more stuffs
can the ipad mini fit into the 3L?
There's no dedicated tablet sleeve for the 3L (sorry for not being clear on that), but if you packed the sling without the FlexFold dividers, you could probably fit an iPad Mini in there yes! Hope that helps! - Ed
@@RushfasterTVi see, is it possible to see how the 6L sling fit into the backpack zip 15? i'm thinking if the 6L sling can be used as a cube inside the bag and be worn as a sling/fanny pack if i need extra space from the backpack
Thanks for the nice review.
By the way please let me ask how tall are you? I want a comparison to choose a size for me: D
Ed is 5'10"
@@RushfasterTV thank you very much. Pretty same to me, I think I'll choose 6l, 10l is too big :3
I have the 5 liters greybag, there are more nice bags, but This bag is really verwell very ergonomic and quality superb
Damn the 6L and 10L look way too big. I have the 5L version 1 and although I prefer the looks of these bags, the size of the 5L is so much better for every day carry.
Yeah I was taken by surprise on the sheer size of the bags, I think the feedback they got was that the 5L needed to fit just a bit more. And I believe the 10L is meant to replace the 13" Everyday Messenger. But at least people have more options hahaha - I still love my 5L Sling too. Actually the best sling out. - Ed
I've got the 3L vs 5L comparison on my channel, and I agree about the new look of the 6L, possibly too big? lol, everyone was complaining about the 5L size and it could be a shape issue for some folks. I wonder how a more rough back pad would be, I think I would like some roughness so it sticks to your back better.
I still prefer the retrospective series
Yeah they were very solid in their own regard - Ed
somehow the 6l looks much larger than the older 5l. more like a messager bag than a sling
can you do a comparison between them?
Imagine using the 10L as a hip bag. HAHAHAHA!
nice bag, but looks quite feminin I would say. a sort of beauty case.
Thanks Raf. It comes in different colours too. - Prikee
Nice video! But I still don't get the point in promoting ethical and sustainable products while using leather... 🤷♂️
Thanks for the feedback!
Yeah they still use leather, but we can't ignore the really solid steps forward Peak is making in reducing its effect on the environment. Making a 100% recycled plastic fabric is pretty darn noteworthy! :) - Ed
It's a really nice bag but best to avoid heavy showers 😥
6L - too big . i am getting the 5L
And how would people outside of the US know how tall you are when you say it in feet and inches?
1 foot is 30.48cm. 1 inch is 2.54cm. We're based in Australia and are on the metric system but for some reason we measure certain things in inches and feet. Who knows why??
im outside of US and i completely understand what he is saying. maybe because i know how to google?
Outrageously priced bags. Not worth the price that brand asks.
What brings you to this conclusion?
@@RushfasterTV I seen one in person and the price in Australia for them is outrageous, even the camera store sales person advised to get an alternative brand as they believed they were not worth the price tag.
They don't look like they sit well on the back!
Too expensive for what you get.
What do you think the price should be?
I’d say around 40-50% less than their list price.
Fantastic review! I received mine 3L and 6L and am pretty happy with it.. except for one thing. If you have the capture clip, the capture clip actually blocks the zips even if it's as far to the side as possible.
The result is that you end up hitting the capture clip with the zip everytime you open and close the bag. If you're slow and careful, you can get it open without hitti g the zip but still.. feels like an oversight here. V1 strap was curved away so it doesn't block the zips.
See photo: www.pictr.com/images/2019/12/06/5wFSqr.jpg
Also no, I don't think it's worth the upgrade from the v1 slings FWIW. Loved the sling 5L but had two main issues. The strap keeps slipping and needs readjusting constantly. And strap quick adjust was horrible to use (unlike my messenger which glides along smoothly). V2 (supposedly) fixed the slipping issues but the quick adjust still doesn't glide along nicely.
The pads on the V2 is thicker and longer (more of the strap being padded), the side now has these stretchy walls that prevent anything from falling out.
For the 5L slings, they now have clips to stop the slipping. You can ask for them through a warranty claim. I just got mine recently and they seem to be working fine so far.
What colour did you get? I wonder how the new navy colour looks like in person. Is the 6L really much bigger than the 5L like what everyone said?
I just ordered the 6L, I thought about 3L too but worry it might be too small. Would you say is good to have both?
"Ethical" material 😅😅😅😅😅 woke words thrown around.
Thank you for your feedback. "Ethical" material refers to environmentally friendly and socially responsible sourcing and manufacturing practices. We understand that these terms can sometimes seem overused, but we believe in the importance of sustainability and ethical production:)
These are purses, very nice purses, but not slings.
Overpriced
What price do you think would be more reasonable?
@@RushfasterTV Peak overprice all of their products. It's a marketing thing. They want to be the Gucci of Photography handbags. It frustrates me. No one likes to be gouged and on the (very) rare occasions I've actually seen someone with a Peak product, it sends a message that they are new to photography and trying to spend their way into becoming competent. LowePro product as good, if not better, quality bags for a lot less. Just my 2c.
@@happywanderer5632 Maybe they just want to develop, design and build better products which needs (much) more research, better materials etc. I think you can't really tell until you used one for years and discovered all the details. Although LowePro has also quite good stuff they don't even come close to PD imho.
Functionality comes with a price. A lot of R&D goes into their products, and they honestly are not that much more expensive than other brands. The Lowepro Passport Sling 3 goes for 55 dollars. For 20 more dollars I can get the Everyday Sling 3L, which is a more functional bag that's also better looking. I'll use the bag almost everyday for the next 5 years, a 20 premium is worth it in my opinion.
@@ianplaysbass Best bag I've found is the TimBuk2. It can be worn as a waist bag and a messenger bag, but everyone has different opinions. I don't disagree that their products are good quality, just that they are overpriced for marketing purposes.
can the 3L sling fit an iPad mini 6?
Hi, it will be a little tight at the bottom of the sling. The bottom internal dimension of the 3L is 19cm. The iPad mini (6th generation) has dimensions of 19.54cm x 13.48cm. Thanks!
Can the tablet compartment fit a ipad pro 11 for the 6L?
Yes it should - PD says it'll fit up to an 11" tablet for the 6L sling. Hope that helps - Ed
