I know there are improvements with the V.2 line-ups (e.g. better straps, better zippers, even more environmentally-friendly, new colorways, carrying loops...etc.) , but they overall seem like a big disappointment to many of the existing users due to the omission of some of the features that we have loved the V.1 for. Everyday Messenger - Top zipper access removed. Definitely a deal breaker for many. - Laptop compartment moved to inside the bag. Much harder to dig the laptop out now, especially at the airport. - Smaller front panel storage with the new zippers not running all the way to the side. - Very generic and plain-looking design. The textures and the stitching styles are just bland and swollen. - The signature charcoal color and heritage tan color are also gone. Everyday Backpack - The side pockets hold less. You can't put things bigger than those small pouches and zip them all up like V.1 - The light reflector at the bottom of the bag for cyclists is just gone. I loved PD for these little things you know. - Waist strap not included. I thought we would see the improved version of this provided with the bag. - Again, the signature colors are gone. Everyday Sling - No more expansion for the front pocket of the 10L. - Carrying a tripod could be more troublesome. now - Theft-deterrents features gone? - Not sure if the Capture clip will get in the way of the zippers of the smaller Sling. - The opening flap can no longer "go over" the top of the bag to gain extra space. I can fit HP Spectre x360 13" in my V.1. - For those that like buying products with the same color style (hello OCD), the new colors won't match with the old bags, especially the travel line in sage green. The tote bag is the only one that I don't have, but the comment section seems to have something to say about it. The biggest annoyance is that we don't understand the changes. PD were not launching the V.2 lines on Kickstarter so the majority of the people here didn't really get a say in the direction of these new bags. I have noticed that other bag makers on Kickstarter are clearly taking clues from your previous design, so I was really looking forward to even better stuff from PD. I was hoping for things like... - Better theft-proof/cut-proof system (many of us are carrying gears after all) - New form of Maglatch for the sling. - Key-tether for the bags that don't have one. - Hidden pockets across the series. - Better way to carry a tripod or a water bottle. - More variety of dividers to accommodate non-photography gears like external drives, smaller items, documents...etc. Not only did they not come true, existing features were also taken out... I wish PeakDesign revised the whole V.2 line.
Little disappointed with how they went with the tote line. Version 1 was an all-around that could be carried multiple ways (shoulder, cross body, hand carry, backpack). Now that you have two new separate totes, the carrying options aren't as versatile anymore (Everyday Tote's shoulder, cross body, hand carry VERSUS Totepack's backpack and hand carry). I hope Peak Design keeps version 1 of the tote indefinitely and doesn't phase it out.
@@fateburn Actually, they still do have side zippers...just in the form of a single zipper now versus the double zipper from V1. And instead of zipping from top/down they zip reverse from bottom/up.
@@johnguinto4386 Ah I was talking about the tote v2, not the tote backpack. Imo being able to zip it down from the top was better anyway so that things from the bottom don't immediately fall out.
@@fateburn Agreed! Zipping from the top was the better option. Not sure what their thinking was by switching it to zip from the bottom (unless they figured out a solution to that glaring issue that I'm not aware of). Yea, altogether a bit of a step back on their new tote line(s) IMHO.
Hi, just bought a everyday 20L V2 for my camera gear after watching several reviews etc. Never thought that lenses inside will need an extra pouch or something to avoid them moving loosely inside. Specially the small expensive primes. For your V3 I strongly recommend you solve this 'cause until then, this isn't really a camera bag, not a complete one at least.
I just purchased the Everyday Zip 20L and what I like specifically that this bag will allow me to do is use my 5D with battery grip via top access and side access, on either side; finding a bag that’s not huge, and allows you to do that is difficult.
Tan interior looks luxury, I wish they keep it, my friend not sure why it’s so expensive until he see the interior color lol, but I like yellow color so it’s good looking and bright and visible too
I just bought the 6L sling and I think it will be my travel camera bag from now on. My shoulders don’t allow me to carry heavy things, so I’m limited to 1 Sony mirrorless camera with a GM 24-70mm lens, which fit in the 6L perfectly with some extra space for flash at the bottom. They can go side by side as well, but a little tight at the top and will ruin the shape a little when closed. I also manage to fit in a remote control and spare batteries. The padding feels just right and the size doesn’t feel large on me at all. I’ve been looking around for a camera bag that allow me to fit in just the necessities for a few months and I’m really happy with this purchase.
Your new bags look great! Have you thought about something like an "Upgrade Option" where owners of the old bags can send you their V1s, which you can recycle/upcycle and make something new out of them and you sell them your new bags for a lower price? I think this could be interesting for many of your customers who don't need a V1 and a V2 Backpack, but want to buy a V2 without having the V1 laying around without use.
sad. i was hoping for options for the internal compartments that cater more general carry use cases. like instead of the standard dividers, have options for detachable pockets for stuff(external hard drives, big laptop chargers, nintendo switch etc) that dont really fit well into the dividers. as much as i like the new zip backpack with the 270 access, this issue of lacking inbuilt organization is really the killer for me
They do offer pouches for organization, as well as the pocket on the messenger that is right under the mag latch system, unless that is another feature they decided to remove from the bag. I too am quite disappointed with this. Hoping v3 comes sooner rather than later and actually offers some good features.
Just bought a 3L sling in ash (like combo as all camera straps, wrist and reg. are ash). I can fit a large mirrorless w/zoom and 1 prime, batteries, strap, SD cards, etc but I plan to use for Iphone 11Pro Max, battery pack, 4 Moment lenses, holder, handle, small ballhead, filters and holder, Airpods, plus personal things and dog treats for very pared down travel kit. I have smaller sling and larger bags but this works for a travel sling rather than EDC-for me as a woman. BTW, the Mini Ipad 5 fits in a 3L. I carry it rather than 12.9 Ipad Pro or Macbook so this interested me-in case I use 3L for something other than photo bag.
Haha I have been looking for a new bag for a week, and I heard a rumor about everyday v2 dropping before Christmas, I was just about to varify that and this video dropped!
The only thing holding back the team for expanding their segment is the fact that all these bags are primarily made for photography. If they can bring a "regular" bag with this level of innovation, thought, and creativity I feel like they'll be even bigher than they are now
@peak design Why did you not add a cinch to the top opening under the mag cover? Or some some of strap to keep it closed under the flap? As others have reported, when the bag is full and at the highest rung, the opening bows out from under the flap.
I love the sling- was going to go with the everyday backpack. I am not really a backpack person, the sling is perfect. Does it offer much protein? Thats my only drawback.
What can I carry my gripped R5C in and a couple lenses? (prefer messenger-style) Coming from my favorite bag ever (Thinktank Urban Disguise 60 Pro which has been discontinued)
I opted for a Tenba DNA 15 Slim over the Peak messenger bags. It feels tougher, looks tougher, has the features that I like, and is a better size to operate as an every day bag when it's not kitted out to haul lenses.
Excellent and well described on all new PD bags. This help me to make better decision on which sling bag for my one day photography trip. Hope the V2 bags environmental friendly material is as strong as, or even tougher, than V1.
Good question. And I hoped for an external Magnet-Waterbottle-Pocket for the Messenger like at the V1 Backpack. And the new Messenger is smaller than the original one, isn't it?
Ah yes. And the water bottle pocket. The only upgrade is see is better strap (hopefully is not as hard as before) and being lighter (but dont know how light). But removing the top easy access is a deal breaker for me. Also, not sure if im sold with putting the laptop sleeve inside. Thats another easy access that they removed in this version
@@hautehussey What? I literally never opened the mag latch system on my messenger because the zip was so much more convenient to me. I really do dislike that they removed it. Probably going to skip out on these bags. Hope v3 comes sooner rather than later.
Be careful guys, in this video you say that the 6L Sling's sleeve can fit up to a 10.2'' tablet, while in the official Slings overview video you say up to 11'' tablet. Pretty nice new products by the way! I Love the Midnight color! Edit: you actually don't say it, it's only written in the other video
I also noticed that they say 11" tablet on their "What's New" PDF for V2 bags. Which is it? The distinction is important to me. I have the 5L sling and my 11" iPad Pro doesn't fit into the tablet sleeve. It does JUST fit into the main compartment, but it's tight. I'd buy the 6L if that solves my issue.
Also wanting a answer for this - if the 6l holds an iPad Pro 11” (in a slim UAG case) then I’ll definitely order...otherwise sticking with my V1 10lL Sling .....but slightly disturbed that PD are sloppy about such a crucial piece of information
You always had to take what Peak Design said with a huge grain of salt in my experience regarding whether it fits what. Always go in a shop with your intended gear you wanna stash and fit/measure yourself. Was dissapointed i couldn't even put the 10 inch surface go in my 5L sling (which was rated for 11 inch according to the official specs)
Moment released a video with these new bags and confirmed that an 11" iPad Pro fits into the 6L tablet sleeve! Annoying that I had to learn about it from a third party and not PD directly...
New lineup looks awesome! I do think that for the messenger the old ones look and function much better though... Just placed my order for the sling 6L! I have the sling 5L and love it, but squeezing my iPad Pro 11” in is kind of difficult.
4 года назад
I am thinking about Sling 6L and ipad Pro 11" as well but I am scared that 6L is not enough for 11" and in case it fit the size, I am scared about the comfort on accessing with/without stuff . Can you share your idea after using it with sling 5L?
No mention of improved weather proofing vs. V1... I have a V1 Everyday Backpack and a V1 Messenger (Kickstarter). They both let in substantial water in the rain, especially along the seams/zips. Not great when you have laptops and passports etc. inside! I now carry plastic bags with me so I can cover the entire bag when it starts raining. A bit silly really! I love the products overall, but if the weatherproofing doesn't work on the V2s then upgrading isn't an option for me. Would like better padding on straps for heavy loads too.
Can't say I've had the same experience as you. Got the V1 13 inch messenger and the V1 backpack - and both of them I have walked around in the rain for a substanial amoumt of time with them, with Amsterdam being rainy 2/3rds of the year. Sometimes up to 3 hrs if I'm doing street photography and focusing on rain shots. Never had any issues. So personally the rain resistance is why I've bought the PD line in the 1st place. Just don't overload the top part. If you don't then maybe have yours sent back for warranty ?
"First up is the ultra-zip because it uses ultra-high weight polyethylene thread" Polyethelene Tetraphalate is just polyester. They use dense polyester thread to sew on the zipper teeth.
Just when I decided that the everyday tote was the solution to my problems, it becomes out of line... is there anyway to turn the over the shoulder tote into a backpack? (Let’s say, by buying 2 camera straps or slings)
Are the new straps redesigned? I was just gifted a V1 20L and it is easily the most uncomfortable bag in my closet. No matter how hard I tried it was digging into my chest with just a mirrorless camera, a lens, and a small lunch. Im a firefighter and my 100 lb pack is more comfortable. Now I have to have that uncomfortable conversation with my wife because I need to send my gift back. Uggg.
Love all ur products but now I’m even more confused in which one to get because i want them all.😫😫 I’ll hit up my local camera store and put my hands all over them. I’m leaning towards fanny i think lol but then I want to carry all my equipment lol see confusing lol.
Is the 6L sling equivalent to one peak design packing cube unit? I am asking because I am looking for packable day bag that can go into my peak design 45L travel backpack, but not take up all the internal real estate.
Kenoye Eke no it is larger even the larger packing cube which was very stuffed would be smaller than the 6L full after all the 6L can hold a ridiculous amount for its size. It’s also quite a bit larger than the small camera cube it all depends how you config your 45. The one thing that is a definite is that the 6L is way better than the old 5L sling
I’m also looking for a small packable day bag! The 45L is far too big for me, 30L is ideal, I have seen someone claiming 10L sling does fit in the top of the 30L EDB with 2 of the folding dividers in the bottom of the bag. That just seems a bit ambitious to me. If this is the case though that could be a set up that works well for me as my camera gear would fit in the bottom around the 2 dividers and then my drone stuff would fit in the sling in the top of the bag when travelling and then I could just use the sling for days out/when I don’t want ALL my gear. Even if the 6L sling fits, the 6L would work well. Other than the nomatic x PM bag (which is too big/heavy/expensive for what I need) I can’t seem to find a combo that has a packable day bag integrated with a slightly bigger bag.
@@saraha0210 Exactly! I ended up just buying a packable 24L bag from Matador (Freerain24). I just throw a PD camera cube in it and the 45L stays in the hotel.
I have the v1 5L sling bag, able to fit A7III, Sony 24-105, Sigma 14-24, Sony 35 1.8, and an Aputure portable light bar and a bunch of accessories... truly amazing but useless without the two tiny strap locks
Dam man they look so good, i want them all. Owning and EDC backpack 20l i can attest to they high quality of these products. Greed aside, im very glad to see you guys are keeping this line of products updated!
*QUESTION* This video says the 6L sling holds up to a “10.2 inch tablet/standard iPad”. But your site says it holds an 11 inch iPad Pro. So which is it?
The 6L holds the 11 inch iPad Pro including the keyboard case from Apple along with the Apple Pencil attached to the top , it’s snug but it definitely fits , the 5L does not in any way for the 10.5 or 11 inch iPad / iPad Pro
I wonder are the backpack straps less rigid than previous version. I gave up on purchasing as the straps digg-in into your shoulders like they are from metal.
@@CheeseOnEverything Camera bag that still has ample room for extra items such as clothing or drone. I was really interested in the wandrd prvke bag but these look interseting too

jaypob - thank heavens, LoL. As my video said on the PD bag, all of my bags, the perfect bag for everyone and every occasion doesn’t exist and likely never will.
I am looking into these bags to use as a student. The Everyday Backpack or the Everyday Totepack are the one that seem the most practical for my use, but what I am unsure about is the possibility to carry books. I would need to carry my laptop as well as some notebooks (A4 format) and maybe like a book as well. I am unsure if I should go for the 30L as I believe it would be huge, but also I don't know if I can fit in a 20 L. Any experiences using any of these as a student?
The 30L is probably the best for books as a student. Just take the top two dividers out and voilà, you’ve got space. The laptop compartment is also better on the V2 than the V1 by FAR!
Hi Peak Design! I was wondering the 30L Everyday Backpack can accommodate a 17" laptop in it's sleeve? I have a 17" device and have a pretty small build. Would I be able to fit my laptop in the 30L at least?
I really love PD, but the changes to the most popular bags are disappointing, especially in the Tote bag - as that's been the best bag I've EVER owned before! Taking away the side access was honestly the biggest draw of this bag for me. I also dislike the removal of how the straps had a bit of exposure on the front, allowing for the usage of the capture clip, which I use heavily on my Tote bag. The new tote removes the functionality a photographer was using it for and makes it more of a general bag. That's great to gain more people to buying these, but create a second version while keeping the original. The original could have used better straps. They would not feel that comfortable after long use and I felt that could have been updated, with some refinements that were done in other bags to sort of polish this bag ever so slightly, but not changing the entire bag over all. I just purchased another V1 of the Tote, because I see it's being entirely discontinued and I preferred that version. Very unfortunate by these and hopefully you all keep V1 of the Tote in the lineup, as many others in the comments here have also conveyed the same sentiments I have.
@@jaypob 1. I bought a second bag today with the announcement the old one won't be around anymore as I change out my bag and I didn't want to do that anymore. My camera gear can stay in one and the days I'm meeting with clients or attending meetings I take the one with just my laptop, documents, etc. 2. If something happened to the bag that means you're not going to be able to get your bag replaced with the old version if there aren't anymore of them.

.....but slightly disturbed that PD are sloppy about such a crucial piece of information
@@LuckyDippers i'm on the same boat
Moment released a video with these new bags and confirmed that an 11" iPad Pro fits into the 6L tablet sleeve! Annoying that I had to learn about it from a third party and not PD directly...
New lineup looks awesome! I do think that for the messenger the old ones look and function much better though...
Just placed my order for the sling 6L! I have the sling 5L and love it, but squeezing my iPad Pro 11” in is kind of difficult.
I am thinking about Sling 6L and ipad Pro 11" as well but I am scared that 6L is not enough for 11" and in case it fit the size, I am scared about the comfort on accessing with/without stuff . Can you share your idea after using it with sling 5L?
Will a gimbal fit in the laptop space?
it would be great if we can get ash color for tote pack
Wow what an amazing lineup guys. Christmas came early!!
NL0Gwenster interesting. Thanks for the reply. My bags are from the original kickstarter a few years ago so I doubt they’re under warranty.
"First up is the ultra-zip because it uses ultra-high weight polyethylene thread"
Polyethelene Tetraphalate is just polyester.
FYI the 10l will not really fit a the older 12.9 inch iPad if it has any case on it.
Just bought the midnight 30 L and 6 L bags, version 2!! ARE YOU GOING TO MAKE THE 45 L TRAVEL BAG IN THE MIDNIGHT COLOR WAY?
How is the midnight blue on sling 6L? Is the colour nice in person?
Drinking game! Every time Adam says "backpack", well, you know what you gotta do :)
WILL YOU SURVIVE?
Wooow! I think the middle one will be the most popular backpack!!!
Really disappointed that the Everyday Messenger no longer holds a 15" laptop. I have loved my v1 and will need to find a replacement now.
Damn I love good design. These are all beautiful!
So are the slings are only used for camera bag ?? I really like the 3L sling
I have the v1 5L sling bag, able to fit A7III, Sony 24-105, Sigma 14-24, Sony 35 1.8, and an Aputure portable light bar and a bunch of accessories... truly amazing but useless without the two tiny strap locks
I miss the Charcoal and red look with the dark tabs. It seemed more futuristic. The light coloured leather seems a tad bougie
Do new Macbooks 14" fill in sling 10L or Everydaybackpack 20/30 L ?
Any chance to see a refined version of the field pouch any day in the future ? (promise l won't tell the others)
I JUST got my V1 everyday backpack over the weekend. 🙃
Dam man they look so good, i want them all. Owning and EDC backpack 20l i can attest to they high quality of these products.
Greed aside, im very glad to see you guys are keeping this line of products updated!
Swoon. While I won't be replacing my EDC backpack v1, I'm definitely going to get the 3L sling as a little brother to the 5L v1. Way into it.
*QUESTION*
This video says the 6L sling holds up to a “10.2 inch tablet/standard iPad”.
But your site says it holds an 11 inch iPad Pro.
So which is it?
Due to the smaller bezels on the Pro it's basically the same size as 10.2" iPad.
Does the new 6L fit Travel Backpack 45L like old 5L does? Is it interchangeable with 6L camera cube?
For a Mavic Air 2 & Controller + Sony a7sIII 24-70. Which shoulder/sling would work?
Suddenly I am wondering how the PD team would fare if they went on Shark Tank. Would they impress or get roasted 🤔😂.
no internal sleeve on the 3L?
Which backpack would you suggest that would fit gimbal Ronin S or Weebill S? It must be inside the bag compartment
Can the new slings fit a 11in Ipad Pro with a keyboard case?
Tan Luu yes it can
bought the everyday sling 5l few days ago
Any news on the V3 line?
Perfect timing for the release of these bags but now I am doomed to pick the perfect one 😭
What kinda bag r u looking for
@@CheeseOnEverything Camera bag that still has ample room for extra items such as clothing or drone. I was really interested in the wandrd prvke bag but these look interseting too
Loving this!
Should have added an Ultra Zip to the bottom of the luggage carrier straps to add another storage department.
Oh no, they discontinued the brown backpack. I get so many compliments on my V1 Heritage Tan (a light brown color). I wish they offered more colors like it such as dark green.
The new MacbookPro 16' is approximatively the same size as the 15'. Does it fit into the bags that hold a 15' ?
Yes, the 16" does fit in the v2 bags, even the 20L (according to MKBHD)
@@SiliconTheory Thank you !
I really wish either u guys or someone else would make a bag that can carry a camera, extra lens or 2, BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY be able to carry my lunch that's in a Tupperware container and if I decided to take off my jacket or sweater I have room inside the bag for it
Love the information provided just wish we had a bit more visuals showcasing more of the compartments. Otherwise I liked the video! Thanks!
Just bought every day backpack and sling few months ago; is there a trade in program?
I will use my 20L carefully because new version is very ugly
Isaac Chung They look cheap 😢
Do I understand correctly that you removed the front expandable pocket from the 10 liter sling?
Peak Design you are killingly me...I just bought a v1 Everyday Backpack 20L three weeks ago! Uugh.
It looks better than the v2 and I dont see much differences.
Cheese on Everything - I mean, I’m not going to toss my v1 and start saving for v2, just seems like every time I spend a lot of money on something a new version comes out almost immediately afterwards. :p I do like my charcoal v1 :)
That's the world we live in unfortunately but it's not a bad time to live lol. Innovations progress so quickly and it's great to see all these new inventions.
@@JasonLorette Just be glad that eventual software updates won't make your v1 bag obsolete. Honestly, if you're happy with your bag, who cares if the update it every year. Bags aren't phones.
jaypob - thank heavens, LoL.
Say it with me... this isn't a phone, you don't have to upgrade every year or two. Just keep using "the best bag [you've] EVER owned before!"
Wait, you said the belt strap for the backpack is sold separately? Even for the Backpack V2? That came as part of the V1
They got popular and are now just looking for ways to get extra money for everything. Really disappointing as I used to love this brand.
Why not show new internal side pockets?
10:20 “Known as a fanny-pack or bum bag, if you speak the Queen’s English.” 😂
Hey I think I know you - you’re that guy from that thing. Great vid!
I am looking for a bag that can hold a 11.5" by 19" clip board and camera gear... Does any of these fit that by chance?
is the brown stuff covering the handles made of leather ? would be a "won't buy it" reason.
Bone looks sick!!!!!
Does the new messenger have exterior water bottle pockets / sleeves on the sides?
schbiker24 no it doesn’t , just the everyday bags
can the 3L fit an iPad mini 6?
hmm have you got rid of the messenger that can carry a 15" laptop?
So only one backpack can hold the 16 inches MacBook Pro?
So the 16 mbp will not fit into 20uip?
Can a Microsoft surface pro fit the 6L sling?
Does 6-liter sling fits as one packing unit in Travel Line backpack?
Janguyencz no
what happened to beautiful tan color?
