I posted a comment on a home invasion short once where the comments were full of "mean to a group" comments (which are still there). I guess they were all skating around hot words for the algorithm since my comment denouncing them that had the "team" color in it was flagged. I happened to check my comment history when it popped back into my memory and it was gone but all of the "mean" comments were still there.
Dont forget that free speech is also the ability to hear the speech of others. Every time you would have benefited from speech that was chilled or silenced, you were attacked by the censor.

Facebook went so far with my profile that my reports were dismissed automatically and couldn't even follow my activity log. Arrested data all over. My friend list was so tiny they couldn't truly manipulate that yet jumbers were almost always different on how many friends I had. Red flag two. If i tried to extract my data led me to a new window saying there is data error try later. I tried over six years.. could never extract my pictures or change my personal data. About 3 weeks ago my 10 years old facebook account got taken from me either by a hacker or facebook itself. That platform is a spy platform. Gives zero safety and privacy for its users. No problem solving no costumer service no communication between the user and the platform. Ergo pure dictatorship. Facebook should be banned together with tiktok

Very similar thing happened on some main streets in Toronto, Canada. The city management has decided to reduced the number of lines for cars and instead build bike lines and parking spots. Since this happened on one of the main roads in Toronto with a lot of traffic, now it takes much more time to travel there. As in the case you have mentioned, there are almost no bikes using these bike lines.

Very similar thing happened on some main streets in Toronto, Canada. The city management has decided to reduced the number of lines for cars and instead build bike lines and parking spots. Since this happened on one of the main roads in Toronto with a lot of traffic, now it takes much more time to travel there. As in the case you have mentioned, there are almost no bikes using these bike lines.
The "coroporations are people" brigade getting mad that corporations have too much power is obnoxious. Especially since you're going to see exactly no regulation put on Big Tech, who have given hefty donations to the incoming controlling party.
The Democrats suck, but I'm baffled that people think that the party whose dominant ideology gave us the current corporate situation are going to somehow fix it.
I tend to mistrust authority in general (whoever it is)

I just grew up having conservatives tell me that corporations had every right to screw me over, and that it's my responsibility to not get screwed over by corporations. And now, 40+ years of that mentality informing policy has brought us to this, and they want to cry about it now that it's affecting them. It would almost be funny if it wasn't screwing us all. Now all I can do is let out an exhausted sigh and say, "yeah, no shit."

I use Android, and I have Chrome disabled. I don't use apps for shopping or browsing other than browsers like Firefox and Brave. But when I search for a product on Firefox, for example, RUclips knows about it, and shows me ads about that product. Android is just a spybot. EVERYTHING you do on your computer, Google knows about. Looking forward to switching to Linux. I stopped using Google search years ago, and I want to separating myself from all Google spy products, including RUclips. I hope the government succeeds in splitting this company into separate businesses.

If you are talking about the U.S., it has never been a democracy. A Constitutional Republic is not the same as a democracy. However, we haven't actually been a Constitutional Republic either almost since the ink dried on the signing of the Constitution as none of the three branches of the federal government have followed the restrictions of power in the Constitution and we have become an administrative state where unelected bureaucrats and foreign influencers actually rule.

The main street through corona was 2 lanes and in the center of town they narrowed it down to 1 making the other a dual bike lane effectively creating a huge bottleneck that has lots of accidents and absolutely no bike traffic.
