This is literally like painting with light. You could not have been more right. Thanks a lot, I'm obsessed with 32-bit painting now. o_o This is incredible! It behaves so strangely compared to 8- and 16-bit painting.
Wow that's really interesting that it automatically calculates the appropriate color for lights and darks. Perhaps in the future the color of shadows and highlights won't be a question anymore, gone would be the days of beginner artists shading color with grey and white.
You are the first who I saw who explain this stuff! Its so amazing! OMG I wished I knew this stuff earlier! Thank you very much! Your also the first artist I met that deals with that stuff. I never saw anyone to work with it! I really have to thank you! You opened an awesome door to me!
Things I should have learnd in lessons, but nope. The teachers talk about easy, stupid things, which everyone knows. -_-" I thank u so much, it´s important to know stuff like that! :3
FINALLY!! You did it! I waiting for this BoroSchool episode since the lest one wish cavers HDR like painting in 8bit mode. Man, thanks for that. It awesome thing. [Run away to draw lightsabers. Just a lightsabers without a jedis...]
At first I had difficulty following as I am a noob and had no idea what the colour picker thingo was, but after that I was killin it with some sexy bokeh's. Thanks Borodante!
This is great. You remind me too much of my elder brother who knows stuff -- not to apply them, but just to know HAHAH. This was a cool episode (ie make more)
Wow, I really love the blur thing! Though I am a little confused how to manipulate it, the light thing. D:' Being hearing impaired sucks sometime. Anyway, great lesson! Thanks for that.
Ohhhh, I see. I always wondered what that was about! So amazing! Thanks! Also, how to save a 32 Bit image, so "normal" Programs can understand them? I only ever tried it in Krita, and if I uploaded those files to Tumblr or Deviantart, the colors got all fucked up (opening them as a normal image on my PC, and also the Thumbnail in Deviantart looked normal.)
The desired preset is "exposure and gamma" when converting to 8/16-bit image. There are some interesting presets in there, too, but exposure and gamma properly converts the image as-is to 8- or 16-bit without making it look bad. ;)
Hi Borodante, Massive fan of your videos! hope to see more on this subject one day as it's very interesting! i'm trying to use this effect for a background I'm doing but cannot seem to get the colour selection panel that you are using. how can i see it?
So question.. when saving this to be viewed, what's the best format? PNG,JPG? and what are the best settings if I want to work from 32bit to 8bit ? It seems that if i Merge the layers, it brings the brightness etc, though it seems to work better for 16bit instead.
does this mean that there can be a monitor with each pixel showing a 32bit value depending to colour AND brightness, and see the real effect of a 32bit/pixel image?
What version of photo shop do you use I was using a free drawing app but this seems to be better but I don't want to have to pay 19.99 for photo shop so the latest version with out subscription I could get was CS6
whats with the hickey boro gettin some action yeah! all joking aside this has helped me sooooo much i added it to my animation film and it works beautifully
+BORODANTE Indeed it can. Watching you manipulate the field blur in real-time makes me wonder about your computer specs. My computer is by no means a peasant machine, but the field blur takes a good several seconds to update while manipulating it, and changing the parameters is slow. :/
+BORODANTE Damn. And here I'm sitting on an AMD FX8350, 16 GB DDR3 1600, and a GTX 660 2GB. lol You certainly have a leg up in the CPU and RAM department. Really wish I could get a new GPU... Performance tests tell me my GPU is my system bottleneck.
+Ar7ific1al OpenCL was disabled for some reason so I turned it back on. Manipulating the tilt shift (mistakenly said field blur before) is much smoother now. Not as smooth as in the video while you're talking (so the video isn't sped up at that point), but still much better than it was I think.
Wix I swear to god there should be a limiter on how many times you can advertise to the same fucking person. I don't look up graphic design videos so I can find someone to do a job, I AM A GRAPHIC DESIGNER AND YOU ARE TAKING MY JOB FROM ME. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. Sorry I'm done. Boro is best art bro.
Hey I'm running into a problem that is probably just me being stupid but, when I try to use 32 bit none of my tools work. I can't use the brushes or paint bucket or anything. Am I doing something wrong? Or does it just not work with cs5?
It's probably more ram-heavy than CS6.. Which makes sense as it's more recent. I tried it as well yesterday but I still prefer CS6, probably matter of getting used to it, so no 32bit painting for us xd
Thank you, that was very enlightening.
Ha-ha, get it? Enlightening :)
Is it weird that I don't draw and don't even have photoshop but binge-watching all your videos? 🤔😄🤓
Is it weird that if i were a gay, i'd turn straight for you.
Demomation smooth.
You have waaaaaay too much information in your brain. I want it

The way you pronounce opaque and cyan is funny. Especially given that your English is pretty good generally speaking.
Wow that's really interesting that it automatically calculates the appropriate color for lights and darks.

Please more nerdy episodes!!!! amazing! this is slowly becoming my favorite channel!! Thanks for this cool videos!!

Super interesting video, Borodante. Thanks for going through all these things that I don't really see others talk about at all.
Great videos dude! - I find these so useful and yet they are so underviewed its astounding
That was great delivery. Thank you for putting this info out there for me to find!
FINALLY!! You did it!

+BORODANTE And may the Force be with you.
At first I had difficulty following as I am a noob and had no idea what the colour picker thingo was, but after that I was killin it with some sexy bokeh's. Thanks Borodante!
MAD GENIUS!
God how cool what's that! It was really interesting too see how works 8/16/32 bits, and you explained it so well! Thanks for all ;)
You deserve WAAAAAAY more subs.
I think you can also do this with color dodge or/and linear dodge (add)
Too good information! You have a like.
Ачумеет! Как же я мучался, создавая реалистичный Боке эффект, сколько танцев с бубном...
You explained it so well, thank you!!!
Good video as always. Is there an advantage to painting in 16 bit over 32 bit?
This video help me get attractive color
MORE VIDEOS OF THIS TYPE PLEASE
This is great. You remind me too much of my elder brother who knows stuff -- not to apply them, but just to know HAHAH. This was a cool episode (ie make more)
Good explanation.
Wow, I really love the blur thing! Though I am a little confused how to manipulate it, the light thing. D:' Being hearing impaired sucks sometime. Anyway, great lesson! Thanks for that.
nice video, thanks for all the info!
It's like this video was specially designed for me :^)
Exactly what I'm interested in!
I experience this when I go through linear workflow when rednering in 3D with maya. But not so much in 2016 anymore. :)
hehe. I still use MR >_> _> :3
This was very intresting and you explained so well!
Also.. HICKEY
explained it*
+BORODANTE Hah! I see everything
(͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Ок, полезный контент, спасибо за разъяснения.
"If the camera would adjust ... I would be black!"

Thank you so much! spent way too long trying to find it! Keep up the great work!!
may i get an update on the brushes that were used in this video please? the links are broken.
fantastic video, thanks for that
and I use it for hdri maps :P
Почему у меня, в 32-х битном режиме, практически ничего не доступно? Фотошоп не позволяет пользоваться ни кистью, не заливкой :(((
So question.. when saving this to be viewed, what's the best format? PNG,JPG?
and what are the best settings if I want to work from 32bit to 8bit ? It seems that if i Merge the layers, it brings the brightness etc, though it seems to work better for 16bit instead.
Is it possible ti use this technique in iPad with Procreate? As I can read it has only 16 bit per channel
does this mean that there can be a monitor with each pixel showing a 32bit value depending to colour AND brightness, and see the real effect of a 32bit/pixel image?
My mind is blown.
Это видео настолько полезное что на нем даже нет дизлайков
What version of photo shop do you use I was using a free drawing app but this seems to be better but I don't want to have to pay 19.99 for photo shop so the latest version with out subscription I could get was CS6
iJutsu piratebay
Get affinity
that. is. insane
Hi. Just to help out. The color cyan is pronounced with the 'cy' from cyber and 'an' from ant. Your videos are great by the way. Just subbed.
"It goes beyond the truth"

+Ar7ific1al ive got something similar to boro so it should be fine
+Ar7ific1al OpenCL was disabled for some reason so I turned it back on. Manipulating the tilt shift (mistakenly said field blur before) is much smoother now. Not as smooth as in the video while you're talking (so the video isn't sped up at that point), but still much better than it was I think.

You welcome ;)
Hey is this one of the Vsauce's mind blowing episode? Who is this guy, Vsauce4?
а почему ты циан говоришь как киан?
i wish they had that in krita... :(
Абалдеть ))
That's fcking magic! :O
Before this video, I didn't know that you can paint light sabers in Photoshop.*starts doing the 32 bit thingy* Aww I can't edit?! ;^;

Same issue with CS6 here huh
[Edit] After looking around in google for the answer - It's working only with photoshop CC :T
Yep, I found out as well. I tried CC but it runs so bad on my computer I have no idea why
It's probably more ram-heavy than CS6.. Which makes sense as it's more recent. I tried it as well yesterday but I still prefer CS6, probably matter of getting used to it, so no 32bit painting for us xd
I have more than enough ram though I guess it just didnt like my computer. Back to cs5 it is, it never let me down
he look like Sebastian Stan 😂😂😂 and by that I meam handsome af
My brain
