No and depending. We bought our tickets immediately on arrival at Vang Vieng for a train that was scheduled 2 days later to Luang Prabang. Local station counters only sell tickets for the day itself + 2 days in advance. Hence there were available seats for us. If you purchase your ticket on the day of travel and if it happens to be peak period (eg weekends), there is a likelihood that there will be no seats for your preferred train timing, and you are stuck/caught at a railway station that is 15-30 mins out of the city centre. Wow, thanks for the extensive information shared! 👍🏻
Welcome to lao 🥰
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching! ❤️
Thanks China
welcome to laos
If it was up to the West, Laos would not have such a high-tech train to enjoy. They want Lao people to still ride buffalo carts on dirt roads.
What about the debt trap? Conveniently forgetting to mention that eh? CCP stooge? 😏
@@Danin4985 , you mean like Greece, where western banks got paid back in whole whereas the Greek people are forced to repay the IMF over decades. If you are so kind, your country is welcomed to give Laos cheap loans at zero interest rates. Problem solved.
@@richiesd1 Greece did not become a vassal state. Laos will. Just ask Sri Lanka!
Building stuff that has no chance of ROI. Which also means zero chance of repayment. Which means a vassal state.
Good job, Laos. Good job. 👍😏
Hey guys, thanks for the video. I'm gonna visit Laos inthis December, can you suggest places to visit in Luang Prabang, Vientiane, Vangvien.
Hello there @anish4775 do check out our other Laos vlogs for the places we visited. We had a really enjoyable but brief time in Laos.
Vientiane: Patuxay monument is a fabulous sight modeled after Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
Vang Vieng: cross the Namsong bridge. We had a nice cycle/hike to Nam Xay viewpoint
Luang Prabang: phousi hill and kuangsi waterfall. If you are up early, don’t miss the alms giving ceremony with the local monks.
Enjoy, and have fun with your trip
@anish4775 Hey Anish, thanks for watching the vlog & leaving us a comment. Hope you found Mr. P's reply useful ☺He's usually the "master planner" of our trips, so he definitely knows his stuff! 😄 Laos is a beautiful place and we enjoyed our trip tremendously.
ສະບາຍດີ all your videos are awesome, the question for Singapore is should Lao still be in ASEAN ? 555=lol
Thank you! 🥰 Haha, i just Googled again and re-confirmed that Laos is in the list of ASEAN countries (2022). 👍🏻
555=hahaha
@@oheyjelly you didn’t get my joke, some people in Singapore said Laos should be kicked out of ASEAN. You may want to google that.
@@laosoundara3332 Haha, I got your joke. 🤫However, I choose to remain impartial and factual. What others say is their political opinion, not mine. Personally, I hope for the betterment of humankind worldwide, but what's happening today is beyond my control. 😮💨
Thanks for the video.. unfortunately I think they stop selling online, so can only get the tickets at the train station
Sorry to hear that! I guess things really keep changing this day and age. Hope that all the travel planning is still working out smoothly for you. 😚
Did you buy your ticket just on the day of travel? And it seemed like there were enough seats to go around?
No and depending.
We bought our tickets immediately on arrival at Vang Vieng for a train that was scheduled 2 days later to Luang Prabang. Local station counters only sell tickets for the day itself + 2 days in advance. Hence there were available seats for us. If you purchase your ticket on the day of travel and if it happens to be peak period (eg weekends), there is a likelihood that there will be no seats for your preferred train timing, and you are stuck/caught at a railway station that is 15-30 mins out of the city centre. Hope this helps!
Hi Ashleigh! Referring to Mr. P's accompanying comments, perhaps the best way to summarise is...travel plans and preferences? Leaving it up to "chance" or planning ahead in advance to minimise possibilities of being stranded without choice? Haha! Hope this helps. 😃
Awesome!
Thank you! 😜

Hi ສະບາຍດີ
Hello! :)
If we cross over to China from Laos LCR , any possibility to get China visa on arrival ?
Hi, the chinese border wasn't open when we took the train, so we do not have any info on this. Do let us know how was the crossing/ whether you manage to get the visa on arrival, good luck!
Hello! Echoing Mr. P's response, we've not tried taking the LCR into China as of yet. But we definitely want to attempt this in the future! ☺️
May I ask how long is the train ride from Vientiane to Vang Vieng?
Hello there! I recall the ride taking about 2 hours. (:

What is the fastest night train in terms to average speed per hour?
Hi Naveen, the train operates at 160km/hr for normal service and 120 km/hr for cargo service. There should not be any differences whether the trains runs in the day or night. Hope this helps, cheers!
@@tzew thank you for the reply india also started semi high speed trains called vande bharath train soon we will take these models as the inspiration try to develop our self.

@ferryharmawan3377 Hello there! Google says that the Lao China Railway trains travel at up to 160km/hour! :)
Ok Thx.

China will open the borders soon, then the French will say here comes Chinese tsunami 😂 Laos was French colony
Haha indeed. They make up a large portion of international travel.
The Chinese tsunami was happened a long time ago. The merchants of Thonburi utilized the Mekong river for transportation and Vientiane was technically a base camp similar to Phnom Penh in Cambodia.
I seriously dont think Laos can afford this, sorry to say that, but anyway since China willing to fund it, they wont let it fail for sure
Regardless, with the LCR, it's a great step forward in many aspects such as trade, tourism and general ease of transportation for many stakeholders, apart from Laotians. 👍🏻
This is only a single-track and high-standard ordinary-speed railway. It is much lower than the standard of China's own widely built high-speed railway and its cost is lower.
