Very good video, it was hard to find a video explaining the planting mixture 😊

Thanks for explaining what to do with greenstalk tubing. I was mystified. :)

I'm blown away by how easy you made putting the original together look, ESPECIALLY putting on the top tier. I'm 38 but I pinched a disc in my lumbar spine lifting these... literally 😅 according to an mri. I'm on the fence bc I didn't realize how much easier the leaf would be for me. But I want to try to grow peppers and smaller tomatoes so really the original meets my needs more (for summer). Mine is probably warped for the exact reason you specified and I'm afraid to try to take it apart bc of my back. I'll be curious to see what you grow in it in warmer temps!

Thank you for your comments! I am so sorry about your back! That definately would make things more difficult. I really like the leaf too. It's amazing what you can grow in them! I would love to hear which one you end up going with!

@@gardenwiseadventures oh I bought the original but then i was like maybe I should've gotten the leaf! But I'm too intrigued by growing peppers and tomatoes in it so I probably made the right choice.

Where does the clear hose go?

The ones on my deck point off the deck, and the one in my front yard points off my little patio.

Interesting. I’ve seen those and thought they looked gimmicky and impractical. But I didn’t realize that each level is basically one big pot. I thought they were all separately little tiny pots that would dry out really easily. Do you have to add water every day in the summer?

I am interested to see that. I have only had mine since this spring and I have watered them every week or 2 times a week depending on how hot it gets.
I will need to water more often when it gets hot, but I am going to try straw mulch in each planting pocket and see if that helps lessen the need to water. I will report back once I know!

@@gardenwiseadventures I’ve converted water troughs and pots to self-watering, which works great. I guess this is kind of a different take on that concept, but you are watering from above rather than below. Will be interesting to see how well it works in our hot and dry Utah summer! Looking forward to an update in the future.

Very cool. I want to try one. Will you write out your recipe for the potting mix for my reference? Maybe it’s in the video description. I’ll look. But if not, will you add it in a comment?

I try and do 1/3 compost, 1/3 peat and 1/3 vermiculite/perlite mix. If you use a peat based potting mix then reduce the amount of straight peat that you use.
I add an all purpose granular fertilizer to the mix and will sometimes use worm castings if I have them. I am not really sold on how necessary the worm castings are.

I'll tell you my experience with Greenstalk. I ordered the 1st one as a leaf 5 tier. I got the base on wheels. Absolutely no issues with it. Then with coupon I ordered the original 5 tier. No base and it's level, has fallen over 2 times now. Excuse excuse excuse and they will send me a refund when I send it back! Are you kidding me? It's not top heavy, put together properly and it's planted with recommended mix. All I asked for was another base. Not willing and from the son-in-law of owner. So I'm telling everyone to not trust Greenstalk to do the right thing!
