It’s literally the combination of the dystopian setting of Cyberpunk and the gritty & mature art style and atmosphere of the Animatrix, probably the only animation in the late 2010’s that still has the feels of an early 2000’s anime like Animatrix.
There isn't going to be a season 2. They confirmed they have no plans to make another. They did however say, they aren't opposed to creating another anime in the same cyberpunk world. So new characters and such.

I feel like V and David would be friend s in the Afterlife... The actual Afterlife not the Bar...
V had 6 mounth to live with panam at least
Didn't know it was possible to cry of sadness and laughter at the same time, I do now.
WHAT IS THIS MELODY! I'm cryin everytime I hear the song
This probably the best before and after watching video I’ve seen yet
Especially the song.because of the context it still resonates, even after an year
1:21 golden
5 months later and i still cry over that song...
For some reason, it made me cry even harder when i realized that places in the show are in the game. It almost made it feel like...i was attached to these characters in a way a show has never made me feel before. This show just destroyed me. I remember watching the last 5 minutes and just crying uncontrollably like i had just lost someone close to me, and i hardly ever cry. Its absolutely one of the most well done pieces of media of our time. I can't even listen to that fucking song anymore lol. This show reflects us and our society in so many ways its scary...i think everyone can see a little bit of David and Lucy in themselves, and i think that is what hurt me the most. I had a similar childhood to David, and watching someone you are invested in struggle the same ways you struggle is a feeling you cant recreate. Bravo to everyone involved in this show, but mostly to CDPR for writing such an incredible work of art that i will never forget as long as im still breathing. To anyone who has read this far, I urge you: if you havent seen Edgerunners and/or played CB2077, please do it. You have no idea what an incredible journey you are missing out on.
Bro its just a show its not that deep
maybe, but this hurts bad and made me addicted. i wish i never watched it or for atleast some info whats happened with characters after the ending.. @@ChaotiX1
this is my favourite Before and After watching Edgerunners video.
Those items from the anime is really a great way for making people want to replay the game but the other side of that is shown in this video. E.g. after watching anime music hits different.
Just imagine if someday there will be a dlc where we can play as a David with several endings with of course the most desired one - with saving Becca
Facts I feared becca might die but not if David did and both happened. At least David died and saved Lucy but rebbeca just... Just died. What a great character she was
Good Idea like with Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Other Games where they show Other Character's Stories. They could let you change his story's ending. As a Prequel Series Expansion. With a lot to do In between Side Quests etc.
So true i listened to this song and found it beautifull and sad at the same time but after finishing it today makes you feel like this vid so sad...😢😓
I don't even like anime.
But seeing Edgerunners, that shit made me shed a tear. It was like playing story mode all over again, with the ending pulling at my strings
Why there so many great ones
@@francisconavarrete3031 I just don't want to watch them as they're not something i want to invest time into
@@zelorig8887 but there different genres and themes . There super crooks , Carole and Tuesday if u want a singing show ,great for a heist show , cowboy bebop for a space western , vampire hunter d bloodlust for gothic action adventure like there so many and there worth the timem
Imaging not wanting to consume media in a certain form….
I bet you may be one of those people that have the “animation == not worthwhile/childish” in their head.
In that case, I feel truly sorry for you
@@kingol4801 Calm down, kid. He just said he dont like it. Nothing is wrong with that
I love how the note at the bottom of "The David Martinez" says "Aim high and go out with a bang", I can say that David definitely did the last thing😭
0:43 Rebecca's weapon... No, no I'm not crying. :'(
I can't sleep for 4 hours since I watched the last episode, it's 4am... I am still trying to calm down completely... This song is perfectly fitting for its purpose.....
Edgerunner is like that one dream that makes you wish you didn't wake up.
My youtube recommendation is full of videos like this but this is the most well-made one!
I really home they continue making stand-alone stories as an anthology. Just different characters in Night City every season
I've been listening to the song non-stop for about as long as this vid is up
Best futuristic anime I've ever seen since Animatrix back in the early 2000's!!! So damn good, pls let there be a season 2!!
Don’t know if you ever saw it, but Blade Runner 2022 Blackout is 🔥. It’s an anime short prequel for Blade Runner 2049. It’s literally the combination of the dystopian setting of Cyberpunk and the gritty & mature art style and atmosphere of the Animatrix, probably the only animation in the late 2010’s that still has the feels of an early 2000’s anime like Animatrix.
Animatrix is a hidden gem and this anime had a similar vibe
@@yokgor4675 Thanks, I'm gonna check it out!
There isn't going to be a season 2. They confirmed they have no plans to make another. They did however say, they aren't opposed to creating another anime in the same cyberpunk world. So new characters and such.
@@mexamrc That's too bad, hopefully they make another story
“Aim high and go out with a bang.” This one sentence made me cry so much.
thats a crying matter, im mentally unstable after watching edgerunners. but i laughed and cried at the same time here. thanks.
Can’t stop crying it’s been 5 months.
Thank you trigger studio, now I can gain a instant shot of condensed depression whenever I want just by listening to "I want to stay at your house"
This year was depressing enough, now we have to deal with Edgerunners ending too. 10/10 game to anime adaptation, but damn.. Can't get over the ending. Guess that sometimes in life things turn out to be bad and there is not much that can be done.
dont know how many of theese i've watched already but this one's definetely the best one yet
1:00 Yep, that's the same for me as well...
I got the Night city radio and the main OST jumping around on my spotify so sometimes I am just going around listening to a mix of whatever, some other game soundtracks as well and then BOOM, Your house starts to play, everything I was doing errans or just grocery shoping, becomes so sad yet the song is such a banger
Spot on, mate. Great job!
I'm not the only one who cried after david said im sorry we couldnt see the moon together and it shows all the flashbacks right?
1:28 That Lucy face it's completely meme material XD
as someone who wathed cyberpunk: edgerunners i can confirn this is our daily routine
The game won't never be the same anymore
Just hearing this song brings me tears no matter how long its been
That ending lol, hard to laugh through all the tears tho, it really be like that
Made it into top of Arasaka, and gets named a drink after him, David is one hell of a guy.
Edgerunners gave new life to this game
It was hated a lot because of bugs etc but now A LOT of people buy the game/come back to it just because of anime
This is the "Push" that this game needed
I stopped playin in 2020 specifically cause I had a bug where ALL palm trees were highlighted… through walls, buildings… this anime reminded me to come back and play since more than likely the issues were fixed😊
That song literally is stuck in my end when i try to sleep and I cant sleep
0:12 glad i aint the only one who kept flying off that shit
i drove around mindlessly in-game for a good hour with that song on repeat after watching the anime.
Great work my friend
I think the soundtrack usage in edgerunners was done truly perfectly, now just hearing a 2 second bit of an edgerunners song hurts my heart
0:54 excuse me while I go cry int the middle of the lot and yell for my crew
Its insane how the anime makes you look at this city differently, makes you cry, and facing the final boss with the characters gears.
bro the editing is legendary XDDDD
of all the before/after edgerunners videos this is top tier
0:38 has me wheezing
That‘s the beauty about cyberpunk. Edgerunners really elevated the feelings we get while playing
That’s what I call a 10/10 ending!
Anybody noticed that the drink's text is "Aim high and go out with a bang".
Possible spoiler?
God the anime was good I verbally yelled out NOoO when Rebecca well you know really wanted her to survive as well then it made me completely break down when Lucy was basking in the sun knowing it’ll never bring her the happiness she felt in the simulator, dang gotta go cry in the shower now.😢
I knew as soon as Adam Smash appeared on screen shit was going to go real bad, real fast. BUT DAMN if they didn't do him justice unlike the game.
@@RaxusXeronos the second I saw him appear I knew they were all fUCKED
I was mourning them before they even -yknow- lmao
@@RaxusXeronos He was done justice in the game as well.
It is just that he got into combat with the only person to be able to meet his blows, so to speak.
And past that point, Adam Smasher is just a terminator-like being, which is difficult to combat, but nonetheless killable.
Imagine if he were to fight somebody Kryptonian or Omni-man. He would be a toast immediately then. But that does not make him any less of a threat against average people - like DC’s cyborg, which is very menacing if not for him being used as a punching bag for the purposes of story-telling.
Adam Smasher is a beast, but a beast of very high finite strength.
That singing i really want to stay at your house while crying was magical
1:10 this perfect
This is the best before and after montage yet xD
