Doing this myself at the moment. Digging out a few tree roots though, so a pain. Got a dicky ticker so taking it nice and easy. A foot a day, does not sound very much but I'm retired and the sun is very hot. One little tip though when digging, keep the soil damp and it digs easier.
Grate stuff. Yere definitely mate dry soil is hard work. Steady away is the way to go. I really like them they take a lot more water than just filling with pebble 👍👍👍
Good to see some1 using pea gravel so as not to damage the pipes and so on , so many times i see guys use sharp stone and think that could lead to massive issues down the line , seen the same crates used on site last month :)
Yere mate I went on holiday had a big job for when I came back and it got cancelled wile after Xmas so been running around priceing jobs up that's why no vids for a wile but back on it now 👍👍👍
Hi Mark I’m thinking of adding this design to our cesspit tank to get rid of water, my question is, do you think the membrane will block up or is there sufficient seepage in the material to allow to drain away? Great vids?
Hi mate that's a good question. If there is no solids getting though it should be ok but not sure. You could poke a few bigger holes in to make sure. They are good though. You minght be able to get a different membrane that have bigger holes in. Let me know how you get on and weather you went for it 👍👍👍
@@markhep Thanks. We have an area of the lawn that’s always water logged. Thought about digging a hole putting the crate in and hopefully any water in that area would fill the Crate and then slowly disappear into the surrounding soil?
Hi mate no we did not. But the guy has had it up a year now. it's still draining away fine even with all the rough weather the gutters drained well. This was a first time for me with crates. I would definitely use them again 👍👍👍

@@normawyke8876 Yere sound mate 👍
Could you use these on a lawn without the pipe work? And just allow it to slow drain into the soil?
Yes should work I would say 👍

Nice tidy job 👌🏼🧱👍🏽
Thanks mate 👍👍👍
Never youes this system before was that roofing membrane rapped all around them crates ?
I am not sure what it is think it like a weed barrier I got it with the crates I got it worked realy well it was the first time I tried it 👍👍👍
mark dwyer It’s a non woven geo textile membrane. Water passes freely through it but it prevents backfill entering the crate.
@@Chompwat yes mate that's the stuff👍👍👍
