- Testing my 2GRFE equipped 3.5 litre V6 MR2 Roadster at Mallory Park in March 2011. Ignore the shift lights as they're still set at 6,000rpm for endurance racing. The redline is actually at 6,700rpm. This is a pre-season shakedown test and I'm not pushing to find the limits of braking or handling. I also don't really have much of an idea of the abilities of the other drivers on circuit, so you'll see me being quite cautious at times.
Love the sound of that sweet engine. Same one in my wifes RAV4 and it moves that beast with ease. (the RAV4, not my wife:) )
Its actually not a strange swap. The 2GRFE is the same engine in the Lotus Evora.
+Charsiu Its also the same engine used in the Sienna minivan, lol.
She's a quick little beast.

@quigonjay9 Yes, I'll be racing this in the MR2 Super GT series this year, as well as the BARC double six, Toyota Sprint Series and Britcar 24hr.

@crimsoncat0421 Transmission is E153 from an MR2 turbo. We're planning to have a six speed box in it shortly. ZZW30 transmission is not compatible and would not cope with the torque!

@onewingedangel326 The engine is naturally aspirated, and other than a baffled sump, external oil cooler and standalone engine management the engine is as Toyota intended.
Rogue Motorsport what standalone did you use?

my two favorite v6's the 2GRFE and the VQ35DE, but its kind of strange putting a toyota sienna engine in a sports car, alteast its being put to its full potential
SupramanTRD yeah cams and valve work with a redline at 8 really wake this engine up too. The factory ecu messes with ignition/fuel at 6400 and actually starts tapering the torque before then. It's a strong engine in a camry... Can't imagine an MR2. My sw20 turbo was quick stock
is this the same MR2 used at britcar? :)
I know this has nothing to do with mr2s but since a e153 and bolt to the 2gr would a e154f off of an st205 bolt on the same and would it work out since it's an awd gearbox
swing182 I am looking for a 6 speed manual transmission that I can use for my awd Sienna year 07. Do you by chance know if one that will work with my front transfer case and what not?
