I’m glad you mentioned they are very fragrant. I did not know that until I forced some indoors a few years ago. My allergies blew up and I couldn’t wait for them to be done blooming! Very beautiful, but be careful if you are bothered by strong scents.
Thank you for telling me that, as I have a few pots in my room, intended for gifts for Chrstmas but didn't bloom😬🤣They are just beginning to bloom now and I am allergic to a lot of scents,so I will have to move them.👍😃 Thanks again.
Honestly I have listened to a few other candidates outside of Y Garden and they were nice...but I was most comfortable with Y Garden video. She's more detailed with instructions and I love the fact that she showed a variety of planters which eased my mind bcus I certainly don't want to louse up what is really an easy project. I have subscribed and am looking forward to future helping hands with other projects. Thanks Y Garden! YOU THE BOMB GIRL!!!
You've inspired me to try this. I really like the way you plant yours so they look like they are growing out of a mound of moss. I think these would be pretty in an Easter display. Can you wait to plant the bulbs and force them later in the winter so they bloom March/April?
I think I will try them in water because I'm lazy. 😂 But I LOVE how they look in soil and moss😍 Pretty even they are not blooming yet😍 Thank you for sharing your beautiful paper whites and informative video.💚
Haki haki I just bought the kit that comes with everything u need for 6$ and they should be going on sale soon what’s left. I just planted mine today I’ve always loved growing flowers in the winter ❄️
YESSSS!!!! I've been waiting for this video since I asked you. Thank you so much for explaining. I have my bulbs and will do it this morning. Do they need a lot of light?
Thank you so much for this video. I enjoy your videos and your personality so much! I got some paperwhites for my husband today and can’t wait to get them planted. I love your moss idea. (My husband also speaks Russian so I’m trying to learn. But anyways, you’re a favorite around here!)
OK Iulia I loved so much your video so I have decided to go and buy some paperwhites bulbs and some Christmas decorations and I will give it a try. Thanks to you😄you are an inspiration to me !!! From Canada zone 5b !
I love the moss mound idea! And I’d forgotten about paper whites, I’ll have to try it again. Miss being outside and gardening so much, need to get my hands into dirt. Thanks for the video! 🌷🌿 💞 what kind of moss is that btw?
I Love Paper Whites, my mom planted them here probably 30 yrs ago, they're one of the first to come inside come spring. I'll have to pick some bulbs up tomorrow, when I go see if that tree still looks Gorgeous to get a pic =^) Also wondered if they'd bloom again in the spring if you planted them out in late winter. I think here in Maryland my ground would still be digable.
@@ydoyougarden I went to Lowe's for summer bulbs on sale, didn't see any Paper Whites =^( and the tree wasn't looking that great, I went on Instagram but I see you have to have the app to share, sorry I don't want them in my laptop, or phone, maybe one day we can share pix here
Thank you! Once they are done blooming I have to discard because unfortunately they are not hardy to my area. If you are in zone 8 or warmer you can plant these out in the garden
Loved the video. Paper whites are so pretty. In your last shot what are the white wall pots hanging on the wall? Is a plastic pot inside those or are the plants planted directly inside the pot?
But once they finished flowering, how to save the bulbls for next season? Do you live in the in the original contianers until the leaves are all yellow?
@@ydoyougarden Thank you so much for the reply. I have 100 bulbs coming in the mail and needed to know that. Could you tell me what about the ones that I grow in rocks with no dirt. Do I wait till all the flower and foliage dry and not to water after flower and hen store the bulbs somewhere?
@@WordsPhotos yes, let leaves and flowers dry. The only thing is that bulbs grown in water without any fertilizer can be a bit weak next time they are forced.
@@ydoyougarden Thank you very much, good to know. I promise last question. In this case would you recommend to remove them from water as soon as flower is over and plant them in dirt until all foliage is gone or it does not make any difference?
Y Garden Yulia, Thank you for this video. I just cut back the paperwhites stalks today. What should I do now they are done blooming? I've seen what to do with amaryllis after blooming (eventually plant outside for the summer). I've always just thrown my paperwhites away after blooming but I"m considering keeping them for next year. Any good ideas for us? Thanks!
Hi Marcy! If you live in a zone 7 and warmer you can handle them the same way you do amaryllis - plant outside. they will become perennials and naturalize. . 😊
if you are in zone 7-9 you can plant them outside. unfortunately they are not hardy to my area. Yes, give them as bright light as you can so they don't stretch out 😊
I have a question i live in north Georgia and my azaleas got hit by a freeze that we got the other night all the leaves on them are turning brown. Is that normal and will the plants survive and come back in the spring?
Wow, i am so sorry. My azaleas are fine and it went down to 20s the other week. I think yours will be fine, just give them some extra water. Good luck! :)
Mine it turning yellow at the tips the leg part☹ what should I do? Also once it withers will it grow back next season or will I need to buy a new plant?
My paper whites look different .....what variety is that? Or brand? Some have bloomed others haven’t???? Why does that happen? Those are gorgeous ideas for display...🌷💕🌲🌱
I just bought some I’ve enjoyed them before around Xmas time , I live in Maine . What can I do with the bulbs afterwards to keep them . Maybe my area is to cold to plant outside and have them endure the winter . I also have an Amaryllis I’d like to keep this time the color was stunning. Tfs these flowers are a nice accent to any home or any decor .
I will be sharing this video with my dear friend Judy D. in Montana . She lives in an Apartment and " Her Garden" is inside her Apartment. I know she LOVES Paperwhites. I am going to have a try at these this year myself ! Thank You so much !

Is the moss you use natural or decorative
Is that a jasmine plant behind you? Beautiful!!!
How much light do they need?
For how long the paper whites can stay in the pot arrangement with soil? And how often should I water them once in the arrangement?
Great videos on paper whites.
Where did you get those 5 hanging pots on the wall? Love them!
I bought them at cb2 store, i don't think they are available anymore but these are similar bit.ly/2EzUsad

Just wondering what you can do with the bulbs after they flower?
You can store them in a dry and cool place until next year. If you are in zone 8 - plant outside. If they are not great quality- toss

Fertilizer in the water?
But once they finished flowering, how to save the bulbls for next season? Do you live in the in the original contianers until the leaves are all yellow?
I saved these in pots and stoped watering in summer. Will start watering soon to wake them up again 😊
