- Well the finale of the series of the Grumman "cats" planes. So far the F8F Bearcat remains my favorite and up until the F6F was the best kit. I'm a F-14 and modern jet novice so we will see how this goes! I'll keep it simple...of course...and just try to do the best we can.

I have the 1/48 Tamiya D version in my stash. It was awesome growing up in San Diego with Firefighter Town at Miramar NAS. F-14s flying all over the county. I actually witnessed the pilot and the Rio eject from a F-14 just before it crashed into Gillespie Field in El Cajon on Sep 13, 1988

Great looking kit, so many extras. I've been itching to get ahold of this model as well, it should be a lot of fun. That book looks to be a great addition. I should do some research and maybe find one of those for myself. The F-14 is such a cool looking airplane. I can't wait to see what you do with it. And, a Mig series, you say... YES! I would love to see that.
Amazon has it super cheap right now! The Tomcat really is super cool looking but dang this thing is huge at 1/48 lol, I had no idea. I am super contemplating a Mig series for sure lol...I shouldn't be but I am

Yeah it's a great son except when every single F-14 video ever has it playing hahaha. I was thinking of a yak series but there is a big gap due to yak-15, 20, etc being non-existent in model worlds (in 1/48). SU's may be possible...there are a lot of them
