You have taken what's basically a toy and turned it into a beautiful model. There is no denying your scratch building skills are superb and that has really helped make this Harrier build what it is.
I have enjoyed this build with you - the dramas and the joys. Your attention to details and striving to achieve what the customer wanted is a true testament to your ability and patience. he should be stoked with this and I think a 'bonus" would be appropriate! Well done and thanks for the entertainment (and tips).
I'm staggered. Having watched pt 1-8 over various evenings this is simply amazing work. It's an artform that in another life I would aspire to. And it's such a beautiful machine. You have done the machine, and the amazing guys that designed, built, serviced and flew them, a great service. I was tempted to take this up again in retirement but I won't - I just am knocked out by what you and others do with these quite basic kits and will settle now just to view the experts. Thank you.
My god man, what a beauty! Been AMAZING watching you plug your way through this build. Really appreciate all the time and detail you put into these videos. What a pleasure. Thank you. Absolutely gorgeous.
I have seen most of your videos, very pleasant to see. You're the best model maker that I have ever seen and very friendly. Congratulations. Long life to your channel.

have not missed an episode of this amazing build, the application of the varying greys absolutely pops she looks like a real one. knocked it out of the park and into the next street. keep `em coming. j.
That is a beast of a model. May be your best build yet. Love the large scale stuff. You can cram so much detail in. It needs a 1/18 scale A-10 to go with it. Awesome job sir.
On the intake edge of a real AV-8B ,it's painted with a clear coating. That's done to prevent chipping on that leading edge. most people don't know that, but still your work looks great, no check that, excellent
Another great series of videos on your remarkable build. It looks amazing and if the owner isn't happy just shipper up to Canada...would love this in my house. Thanks for sharing! Can't wait for the next one.
I used to build a lot of models but got out of it for a long time. This channel is really fun and informative and has inspired me to get back into it. I typically do 1:48 aircraft. I have an F-18E on the bench and will do an F-35 in the near future. I also have a Valkyrie from Robotech on the way. My young son has been watching the old Macross series from the 80's and we're going to work on that together.
I've been searching under furniture for over an hour, looking for my jawbone after it dropped and hit the deck after seeing this! The sheer "oooft" factor of this scale is quite something to behold, but you have put the "oooft" on steroids! I could easily see this one inside a glass display cabinet at an AV8 squadron HQ or museum. Take a bow sir, you absolutely deserve it.
As usual a Harrier expert will know in and outs BUT to me a Brit that loves Harriers, this is stunning, what a model to have. Nothing else is like a Harrier and this shows that. Wow!
Man, it looks like......... almost real, especially when place it into a platform similar a runway that ready to take off. Amazing, thank you for your video, good job.
I got to get this kit. Been looking for a large scale something to put together. BTW, I have the same lazy susan for my studio scale Millennium Falcon.
I’m glad I rescued it from the garage sale reject bin as it’s perfect for displaying models, especially on my videos. Since this vid, I’ve painted my logo on it...
Absolutely fantastic! Your best build yet Sean. Each build keeps getting better, which isn’t an easy thing to say or so. You definitely went over the top on this one! I love it buddy!
That looks awesome, simply awesome. Big hunk of plastic, that's for sure. As good as the pit came out, I knew this would be a showpiece. "Ace of Spades" MOTORHEAD! OH, that's right this gets shipped out! That would be tough. Pretty cool deal with the magnets, I like that method. 1st vid I watched since the power came back on, and still behind +4000 views! NICE! Great job. BIG CONGRATS!
You did an Amazing Job on it looks Fantastic ... I just ordered the 1/18 huey to build now because how yours came out got me wanting to order a harrier next
I know you can hide some goofs on a smaller scale but this just goes to show you are an absolute master at these large scale planes....and everything in between! What a beautiful Harrier! I learned a lot through out this build as well so thank you again for sharing your time and incredible talent with us all! Now whats next?!?!?! LOL!!!
I worked on planes from this squadron while I was stationed at Cherry Point with MALS-14 - Absolutely beautiful job here! I would be absolutely stoked to have something like this in my collection, not sure If I could afford your work though, lol.
A very nice realistic build. I really like the cockpit and canopy. I definitely think larger scale models take a lot more work because its possible to see a lot more detail which has to be correctly made. I look fwd to your next project.
Just bought one of these- hope it ends up looking nearly as good, great work dood, really impressive, your step by step will really help .Just wish there was a UK version this size- not up to that home decal printing sadly.
Wow, this is astonishing. I built a couple of 1/72 scale ones one a few weeks ago and was pretty pleased with them until I saw this! I'm looking at your's, looking at mine, looking at your's, looking at mine and thinking holy sh*t, I need to improve. I'm a new subscriber by the way, having come across your channel a week or so ago and I've been binge watching your videos since. What can I say, apart from you sir, have an amazing talent, your explanations are brilliant too, you don't drone on for hours and you come across as being modest which is very refreshing. I can't wait to see what's next!
Thanks for the kind words Tim, and I’m glad you like my videos. I try to make videos that I would enjoy watching...with that said, some of my earlier ones aren’t very good, but hopefully you’ll be able to find a few helpful nuggets in them. I found it to be more helpful to compare my current models to my past models rather than compare mine to others...that way, you can see how you’ve improved and in what areas you need to improve. One thing that has exponentially improved my skills was to take on projects that I thought were above and beyond my skill level. It’s really rewarding to complete something that you never thought you could build and at the end, you’ll find that you’ve developed some new skills. Thanks again Tim!
Looks beautiful! I like big model planes, they are gorgeous. Very nice scratch building for detailing this bird. I've enjoyed watching your videos! Cheers
Wow! Nice model kit. One detail I missed before... I was aware of the Harrier II's radar upgrade in the B+ update but I didn't notice until now they changed original B-model nose to an F-18 style nose! It makes sense, though. The USMC sourced APG-65 radar units from updated F-18s (known as A+ and C+ F-18s) and recycled those in their Harriers to save money. Now, whether Italian and Spanish Harriers got the same upgrade from the same source, I don't know. The Spaniards do have F-18s to it's possible they did what the USMC did and recycled the APG-65's into their EAV-8B's to save some money, too, after they upgraded their F-18A models to basic F-18C+ standard (they replaced the APG-65 radar with the APG-73 which has additional modes, faster CPU's and more memory).
Great work! The idea with the magnets on the pylons is great. It's just a shame that there were only 8 videos. Since I have the 1:18 model myself, I would have been happy if you had shown more, like in the first two videos. Still, big praise. I just see on my Harrier what had to be put in there. You could only tell me how you got the fabric texture on the MartinBaker. So far I had max 1:48 models and never had to worry about the texturing of the seat. Would be really nice if you could give us a tip and I would be very grateful for that.
@@seanerk5kt9 Thank you for your answer. It's about the upholstery of the ejection seat. The seat and the two cushions of the backrest. These are smooth in the molded part. Your ejection seat has a structure as if it were fabric. You said in the video you are using medical tape. Did you just glue it on and paint it, or did you use it to transfer this structure into the softened molded part? The end result is great in any case. I have often softened the surface of tank models with solvent and then embossed the structure of the cast with coarse sandpaper. Maybe that's why I think it's too complicated.
Oh ok. The cushions I made in the second video, were just pieces of plastic card glued together to increase the thickness. Once they were dry, I carved the hard plastic with a rotary tool to make it look like a cushion. Once I got the shape I wanted, I just applied the medical tape over top of the cushions. It’s tape and sticks to the plastic well, but I do cover the outside with Mod Podge to seal the fabric. If you re-watch that part of video 2, this might make a little more sense to you now. Hope that helps
@@seanerk5kt9 Thank you very much. Yes, now it makes sense to me how you did it. I really had the mistake of thinking that you softened the plastic part and then pressed in the structure with the tape. When I look into my kit and have seen your videos, I am terrified of one or the other part. The cockpit and air intake in particular will consume a great deal of time. I am considering whether to make a conversion to the Night Attack version that has a different nose. But that is certainly because I fly the NA in DCS and the 1:48 Revell model that I have already built is the Night Attack version. Your channel is definitely subscribed and I think it's huge that we share such a great hobby. .... and one more thing, cup and hello fellows is really good, keep that

@seanerk5kt9 thanks for the quick reply. This is awesome work, the problem with finding 3D prints is that Shapeway is the only place I've seen and they want almost $100/a pod.
