- A couple of years ago, I took the 250 Pistol class at Gunsite Academy in Arizona. The last day included a shoot-off competition among the students. It was a lot of fun and I came away with a couple of lessons too.

Very nice, Bryan. I took a pistol course this past January and learned quite a bit, and improved even more. A tactical reload when your slide has not locked back, does mess you're rhythm up.

I spent last week at Gunsite, taking 250 Defensive Pistol with Optics. Most awesome experience! Loved the shoot houses and outdoor simulations. The night shoot was incredible. By the way, it's a speed reload, not a tactical reload on the class shootout, before you go for the split popper. Marksman 1 here, also. Even the #2 guy in our class of 15 got Marksman 1, so it's evident they don't give out Expert lightly. I didn't get a chance to talk with the #1 guy to see what he got. All rankings are definitely earned! ~~ Susan

It's hard to remember to reload when you are not out!!!
Yep. But it was a game and games have rules. I’m actually sort of happy with myself that my training and practice made it hard for me to do something which would be less than optimal in a real gunfight.
