Golf MK7 (5G) $17 dynamic flowing indicators installation and test

- Installation and test of cheap dynamic indicators from AliExpress for Volkswagen #GolfMK7 side mirrors. Package includes two replacement parts, a torx screw driver and prying tool. First you need to remove mirror glass (notice wiring for mirror heating and blind spot indicator), then undo two clips that hold the mirror cap. Once that is removed you can remove two screws holding indicator, and two screws keeping the mirror assembly together - this will give us some move room to wiggle the parts out. Disconnect small connector and now removing the OEM #indicator should be easy. You can make it easier with a hep of prying tool. Then install new #dynamic indicator in place, connect it, put everything back together and try it out. Everything is plug&play, there's no coding required, there will be no broken bulb error messages on the instrument cluster.
In my tests the aftermarket flowing blinker is much brighter than the stock OEM VW part.
The only downside that I found is the small square that's visible though the mirror frame. Since it's at the end of the sequential animation, it lights up only for a fraction of second.
This part should fit MK7.5 facelift models as well.
This set of parts and tools was around $17 with S&H, right now it's $19 for the smoked ones, and $15 for clear ones. This is the cheapest that I found for MK7.

My mirror cover was removed super easily - a cyclist hit it while I was waiting at the lights and came straight off, clips and all!
Make sure you test it before you put everything back in place those connectors don't click-on like OEM

Still working without any problem.
3:33 golf 7, a rama lusterka już tak mocno utleniona... Wygląda to słabo.
Zgadzam się - użyty materiał nie wygląda zbyt estetycznie już po 3-4 latach.
It looks great. I've been thinking on buying ones but I'm afraid about the quality in terms of durability of them. 🤔
just keep the oem ones as spares if they die on you you just put the originals back in..
I've used these for over 1 year and they're still doing great.
I've kept the spare ones and just bought a R Line so now i can swap them over :)
They are worth every penny. Just installed a pair. Looks great.

Do you have a video on the mirror sync feature? I did look but couldn’t find one.
I have it enabled from the factory but as soon as I lost all the coding and adaptations I will make a video about it.
A little weird the blinkers in the main headlights aren't flowing as well.
Entire reason I opted not to do this.
Witam . Kupilem takie ledy , zainstalowalem , lecz kierynki nie swieca sie dynamicznie . A normalnie jak zwykle ,orginalne . Nie mam pojecia czemu tak wyszlo . Skoro zadnej adaptacji podobno nie trzeba robic .. moze cos podpowiesz mi .. z gory dziękuję 👍
I bought some of these but the connectoe pin has 2 pins and the original conector has 3 they didn’t work on my car I have a gte any ideas??
That's strange... Why would GTE use different indicators and different wiring... Please let me know if you figure it out.

do you have diagnostic interface like OBDeleven or VCDS? You can perform with it output test of the puddle light (basically you can force the light to turn on) so you can see if it's working.

Hi. Nice video, as usual. I've fitted it and after few months, one side started to give warning light although it works just perfectly. It dissapears after turning off the car but VCDS gave intermittent fault 65650. Since you know also a lot about coding, is there a possibility to disable the warning just from left (driver side) mirror on mk7.5? Many thanks.
może mi pomożesz, co to za blaczka, ta trójkątna na którą dokładnie w tej minucie pokazujesz 2:59 bo u mnie ona wypadła, jakiś czas brzęczała w lusterku, po jakimś szasie się wysuneła z pod szkła, wszystko w lusterku działa.

Hi, I mounted these indicators from Aliexpress on my golf 7, could you tell me why they only work dynamically when all the doors are closed? Let me explain better... if all the doors of the car are closed the direction indicator flash dynamically but if I open a door they start to flash in the normal way like the original indicators, when I close the door they return to flashing dynamically... its a very strange problem that I think is related to electric tension
@@danilomodica2192 hi, i think i just got the same issue. The leds are probably very sensitive to load/ current. If the doors are openend other leds will light up, and the load is different/ maybe les current to the indicators. I don’t have a solution right now for u tho…

any idea what does E4 , E8 ,E6 etc stands for written on the plastic case
That's european homologation. E1 is issued by Germany, E2 by France...

Ilu pionową masz kostkę w lusterkach ? Widze ze masz oswietlenie w lusterkach ja w swojej wersji tego oswietlenia nie mam i chciałem dołożyć lecz zastanawia mnie czy mam instalacje tam doprowadzona. Jeśli to nie problem to napisz ile pionów dochodzi do lusterka i ile pionów ma kostka od lusterka. Bo ja w swoim przez obd aktywowalem i skladanie lusterek i oswietlenie lecz lusterka nie maja ani silników ani oświetlenia wiec może do lusterek jest juz zrobiona instalacja a problemem sa same lusterka.
@jonson222222222 mam dokładnie taki sam przypadek - mam lusterka nie składane oraz bez oświetlenia zewnętrznego. Z tego co szukałem - jedyna opcja to kupienie innych lusterek - takich które się składają i mają oświetlenie. Dodatkowo należy dokupić do wnętrza panel sterowania lusterkami gdzie będzie dodatkowa pozycja - składanie lusterek. ALE - oczywiście moje szukanie może być g... warte za przeproszeniem - i temat jest prostszy. Sam z chęcią poczekam na odpowiedź :)

Great video. I have these fitted and both work fine. The only thing I have noticed is that the little light on the inside do not work. Any ideas why?
Too dark to see. I have a newer pair off Ebay and that little tab which you can view from driver seat is now clear. You can see illuminate now.

Działają bez problemów cały czas.
Warto kupić kierunki od Osrama. Są one droższe, ale lepszej jakości.
At 3:03 you mentioned about led blindspot system, did you install that yourself?
probably not. in-mirror blindspot retrofit is very expensive and requires OEM tools for calibration
