Currently have around 130 or so individual skeins of yarn. Goal for the year is to use yarn from stash before buying more :)

Not super big. I'm in the process of pivoting my business and changing some of the things that I offer and the yarn that I use.
Too big! A bedroom closet full, plus 2 book shelves and a couple large boxes. That's a goal of mine this year. To use it up! 😀

LOVE the aesthetic of organized yarn SO MUCH!!! I’m thinking about making a yarn wall with a pegboard, but haven’t fully committed yet. I’m sure you e probably heard this tip before, but when I cake my yarn, I roll the label up and stick it down the center as I pull it off of the winder. That way I still have all of the necessary info for that specific yarn!
Same!! I love being organized and the feeling of cleanliness and order but you wouldn’t know it by looking at my closet. It’s such a weight to walk in a room and see clutter but so many times I just shut the door and put it on my to-do list AGAIN.

I just recently organized my crochet room too. Decided in 2024 I'd open an etsy and branch into social media so it seemed a must do 😅😅😅

It's really inspired me to re-evaluate what I have and what I can do with it!
I kept losing the middle so now I use a sticker and fold it over the end no more ends lost. I do pop the band in the outside wrap it with a few rows. I have a different bin for each yarn I use for scraps. So I can use the bits to make little things and I cake as I go the extra 30 mins at the end of a day at most is so worth the extra mins. OCD is extreme with this one. I could do with a finishing session I have 42 velvet beanies that need finishing and tagging.

To be more ecological, I roll the ball band and insert it in the center of the cake. So I will only use your label on the one with no ball band left. Need to be logical. Thanks 😉
thanks for the organizational tips and the yarn tags, it's also awesome being on your email list because I know these little treats are just waiting in my email to use straight away, which is what I'm now doing. I just wish that the yarn winders were cheaper in Australia and even temu are expensive, so for now it will be wound by hand. I cake all my yarn but I roll up the ball band and stick it on top of the winders spindle. When I pull the cake off the spindle the label automatically gets inserted into the center. Easy peasy. I don’t have to write anything and there’s no chance that I’ll write the wrong info. But I will be using your labels for the cakes that have missing ball bands! So thank you!!!!!!
Your scrap yarn would make very cute baby whales or velvet pom keychains
I can't throw scraps out either!! I use them for color change bobbles, cheeks, mouths, etc. I have a mess!! 😂😂

Yarn swifts are great for the yarns that comes in yarn hanks (yarn that's in a giant loop) typically found when buying indie dyed yarn or yarns that you see more often at a local yarn store that is not the big box stores (Joanns, Michaels),

You only need a swift if you have hand die yarns that are not already skeined.

How do you print your yarn labels on the thicker cardstock (or whatever it's called)?
There are many places that will print for you, such as Staples! You just bring a USB in with the files you want printed, and tell them you want cardstock or color or whatever you want! Additionally, you can purchase cardstock and print it on your printer (if it's an option)!
It’s really easy to buy cardstock and print them yourself. Your printer will treat it like a strand piece of printer paper. All newer printers should handle it just fine.

My hubby just got me a yarn winder for Christmas & I haven't put it away yet 😂. I'm absolutely loving it. The labels you shared here are so perfect, thank you for them. I've been crocheting just over a year. I started November 2023 so I'm fairly new to it all but absolutely loving it & boy do I need to take back my space from yarn as well.

Oh man I really need a yarn winder!!! ❤ I’d love for my house to be spotless and organized. That’s a dream to me. I’m currently at hoarder status with my 400 plants and craft shit lol my craft room is my living room unfortunately. I have so many health problems and only have so much energy in a day. I have to really prioritize what I do. So cleaning tends to fall on the back burner. I should pay someone to help me. I’d be so much happier if I wasn’t a hoarder lol now I NEED a winder though omg looks so nice lol ❤ also, I use my corner punch thingy for EVERYTHING lol
