I don't see why they can't make a new Xterra. Just take the current Frontier and get rid of the bed lol. They wouldn't want to potentially take some sales away from people who are cross shopping a Bronco, Wrangler or 4Runner? I know I'd definitely take the X.
That would be awesome, however with Nissan planers circling around the toilet bowl waiting to go down. They wouldn't know a great idea if it went right past them.
Yep. I had a 2011 XTerra with a manual 6 speed. My only hate on it was the leaf spring rear suspension and it did not have a locker rear diff. Put 120k miles on it and it held it's value pretty well when I sold in 2016. 3.5 VQ was port injection as well. I could get 22-23 mpg when hyper miling. I agree Nissan needs to make a new BOF Xterra.
I remember when the Pathfinder was a rear wheel drive based on frame vehicle . Now it's a front wheel based unibody vehicle . It went from an actual truck type vehicle to more of an SUV now .
Was thinking the same thing. Pathfinder was a legit 4Runner competitor during the hard body era. I think today it is a Maxima with an SUV body like how a Highlander is a Camry.
There are no Better or even equal New Car reviewers than Sarah. There is no one I can find that gets under the Vehicle measuring the thickness of Sway Bars, explaining the GUTS of a vehicle the way Sarah does. Your Fashion becomes you. Matching the "mushroom" color in your Top to the Pathfinder's color is great. The Catholic School Skirt completes the package with the Scientist White Coat. Who can resist Sarah's Bolster test and her facial expressions doing the Brake Test!! Great Work Again, Brava.
I have a Nissan cockroach, a 2000 Frontier with 214k miles and still going strong. Many original parts; engine clutch transmission AC rear brake shoes. Famous KA24DE engine popular with drift cars and other swaps. Mine is still sorta nice. I clean it periodically but the sunshine is taking its toll on the window seals, clearcoat and etc.
You still make the most honest and insightful review on YT covering everything from the easy assessment to the indepth technical industry terms with humor and wit ❤❤❤❤
"One of these things is not like the other..." 🤣 I mean can you imagine FOUR of those on the slope? YES on an XTerra, btw. Y'know, I was thinking the angle of your hair swinging forward might approximate the dive angle of the test vehicle under braking... but, uh, I guess momentum kinda f---s that up. 😐 GREAT review, as always.
Yes, they need to bring back the Xterra. I've owned a 2015 Xterra Pro4X since new, and just hit 100k miles. I love it, and plan on having it for many more years. I would definitely consider another one, but would want a manual and a diesel would be sweet.
OMG, you don't only make car reviews informative but also fun to watch and listen to. Keep on doing what you're doing and the way you're doing it, waiting for the new Xterra review 😉
That wasn't a drain in the trunk storage compartment. That's where you access the release mechanism for the spare tire. And speaking of tires, those Toyo Open Country AT2's are so underrated. There's a reason why some of the best stuff is still made in Japan, and those tires definitely live up to that sentiment.
Its kinda funny, when u were at SEMA and watching u go around, i was thinking the same thing about the Xterra should be back in production. Long time subscriber, keep the great content coming! ♥️
Xterra was there last great addition to their lineup with a real skid plate...It was a real truck that could take a beating and had a great 4 wheel drivetrain...I have 400,000 miles on my 2011 xterra and don't plan on letting it go anytime soon...I'd buy another one in a minute .I don't want a soccer mom skid plate with all wheel drive .
It looks nice, is well equipped for the price, and it doesn't have some wet fart of a turbo 4cylinder huffing away under the hood. The VQ actually sounds like an internal combustion engine. I like it.
As you stated, after setting aside what they DIDN'T resurrect (a body-on-frame SUV), for what it is at its price, that's a nice vehicle. Nice color as well.
I drove my brand new 2006 Xterra off the lot in May of 2006 with19 miles on the odometer. Still my daily driver, though I took the bus to work for 12 years, and it only has 92,000 on it now. I love that thing and I would love to see Nissan bring it back.
I had a 2011 Xterra Pro4X we called the Silver Tuna. We live in Upstate New York's Tug Hill area. The Tuna was more than capable for the conditions we enjoy! She was even used for pulling bogged down Down stater's snowmobiles on occasion. A Great vehicle that should be revived!
The cottagers is Canada would love that. Fast enough to get to their next adventure on time, wild enough to have a little fun and probably not too fast to handle... although they'll still crash pretty often.
Big YES for a new Xterra! My mom had a (then brand new) 2006 with a 6-speed manual, 2 wheel drive, and manual locks. It was fast and still went everywhere we wanted to thanks to high ground clearance. I pine for a low-mileage 4x4 model.
A Pathfinder can find its way to the mall parking lot, and tow a tiny RV too. Rock Creek refers to the rock creek you may find on display inside a Cabelas store, near the stuffed bears, and off grid style cafe latte dispensers. ;)
As someone who works on a Nissan transverse V6 (Murano) occasionally, I totally agree with your wrench score if you have to do anything other than fluids/brakes. Last thing... please get your name in for the 2024 WRX TR and BRZ tS... would like to know if you think Subaru is turning the corner.
Yes Xterra, , I had the old school Pathfinder " Hard body " I had a 1993 Pathfinder got it in 1997 for the 1 owner only had 25k miles had it 15 years it was a beast i was running 31 inch tires never stuck in the snow , But by 2012 it only had 150k miles but it started having issues, some 18 kid bought it in 2012 for 2000 dollars and was making it into a mud running
Hello I have a 88 SE-V6 Pathfinder 2-door with VG30i I do my own work on it. I have about 4k into it and its a better choice to off road and would have done all that you asked. I watch your channel while I eat my bachelor chow hint hint
Yea Nissan definitely needs a new Xterra, but I saw some concept designs that made it just as long as the Pathfinder 😮. My Xterra is still running strong though, so I can wait😅
There's concept pictures of a 2024/2025 Xterra on the net, looks cool. They could easily base it on the Navara/Frontier D40 platform and they could use the 3.0 litre twin turbo V6 from infiniti and the 9 speed automatic. That would really be sick!! Great review like usual. Thank you Sarah.
Nice review Sarah, I currently run a 2010 Xterra , my first Xterra was a 2008 and I drove it to AZ from NH towing a 21’ travel trailer. I just put on a new set of Cooper Road & Trail AT’s, the are da bomb. I heard from a Nissan dealer that Xterra will be brought back in 2025. So I will wait for that rather than give in to this Pathy with a big sticker price.😊
Currently still have 3 xterra pro 4x (2012, 2015, 2015) and the 2023 pathfinder Rock Creek. The RC IS my first automatic since 1966. My last Pathfinder was a 2001 se 5sp. Will I get rid of any xterras...never. is the RC a replacement to any of the others...no. it is a very nice affordable people mover which can easily go into desert and kick it. New Xterra is just a dream, like maybe world piece.
Yes , please please bring back the X - My 2005 is still going super strong .The only vehicle to have to navigate and endure Montreal roads with potholes and moon craters Leaf spring please .Salt is brutal , will need an update eventually.😭
As always, your off-road reviews are highly entertaining - love that rally special stage! Top notch, and I was not expecting anything less. Thank you for what you do and Stay Awesome!
I've been in quite a few vehicles from economy to utility to luxury and appreciate many aspects of different vehicles. (While sentimental value is a factor) The gen 1.5 Xterra is one of my favorite vehicles of everything I've been in and owned. I know there are others that do things better, but I smile every time I get into it.
As the owner of a 2009 Xterra, I would l love to see them come back but I get the feeling they would nerf it and turn it into every other grocery getter.........but with boob lights and a roof rack.
As somebody who has an xterra I would realllllllly like them to bring it back. Only real other option now is the 4runner and the gx. Be nice to have more on the market. (Detroit trash doesn’t count of course)
All the car you need in the USA for most people, most of the time. Great colour and a great price. Sounds decent like all VQ's, great to hear about the ZFG 9 speed.
I loved my 2012 NISSAN Xterra. Pro4X. BEST SUV I've ever had. Now I have a 2017 Titan. Again, love it. That said if you're looking at say an exploder or some thing similar, this is one worth looking at.
You are right-on about the value versus price compared to the competition. I think the Pathfinder exterior design is still one of the most attractive. Great job color-coordinating your wardrobe, BTW. Agree the Xterra needs to make a comeback. Really enjoyed your vlog with Small Sarah and Angel. Thank you, Sarah. 👍👍👍
Sarah, you simply do the best vehicle reviews out there. I have no interest in this kind of vehicle, but if I were a parent with a family of skiers, I'd give this a close look.
7.3" of ground clearance, ladies and gentlemen, 7.3". My 1997 4Runner had like 11.3" of ground clearance STOCK. And when the shocks gave out I bought 2.5" OME shocks and 32" tires, almost double the ground clearance of what this "SUV ROCK CREEK" edition has. Let that sink in for a second.
I bought the Taiwanese version of NISSAN KICKS. Now most cars don’t have spare tires. Now in Taiwan, I have started to use environmentally friendly tire sealant to directly drive into the tires. The trunk space in the back has become larger and I can put a lot of things under it!
This is a nice rig, and that colour is freakin awesome. I cant get past how off center the rock creek logo is on the tailgate tho. haha. Great vid, as always Sarah.
I think they should do what Ford did with the Bronco. Have an Xterra body on frame like the frontier without the bed...and another unibody Xterra that would compete against the grand cherokee and Bronco sport.
Yeah the Xterra would be nice. But i hope that they bring back a normal and or manual transmission for the Maxima.😢 Matter of fact if they brought back the maxima with an automatic transmission i would get one as soon as its available.
I don't see why they can't make a new Xterra. Just take the current Frontier and get rid of the bed lol. They wouldn't want to potentially take some sales away from people who are cross shopping a Bronco, Wrangler or 4Runner? I know I'd definitely take the X.

Still have my '05 manual 4x4 Xterra. Mostly soft-roading these days, but fun!
With manual transmission and body on frame 🙌
Yes on the xterra, bring back simple 4x4
I remember when the Pathfinder was a rear wheel drive based on frame vehicle . Now it's a front wheel based unibody vehicle . It went from an actual truck type vehicle to more of an SUV now .
Which would make more sense to have an Xterra, since before the Pathfinder and Xterra kinda did the exact same thing for Nissan.
Hi Sarah can you review the new ford raptor, the Australian version it's just landed there in the state's recently.
I'd rather have the full frame & rear wheel drive any day.
The suzuki vitara/sidekick also got that downgrade, a shame for sure.
Was thinking the same thing. Pathfinder was a legit 4Runner competitor during the hard body era. I think today it is a Maxima with an SUV body like how a Highlander is a Camry.

Yes on the Xterra based on the frontier.
Double yes on it having an optional manual and hose out exterior.
That would be a yes on the Xterra, great vehicle.
That pathfinder looks awesome.
Yes, bring back the Xterra. Base it on the Frontier so it can actually be used off road.
Miss the XTerra
Yes for Xterra. This Pathfinder is great for what it does. I agree on the price, what a deal.
1000000% yes Sarah!!! I want a new Xterra too!
I had a 2007 Xterra 4x4. Drive that for 7 years. It was a solid rig.
Hell yes on the Xterra...still driving my 2009 - kicks ass in the snow!
YES! They should bring back the Xterra! I bought a brand new one in 2006 and still going strong. Zero issues and I love it!
Yes, they need to bring back the Xterra. I've owned a 2015 Xterra Pro4X since new, and just hit 100k miles. I love it, and plan on having it for many more years. I would definitely consider another one, but would want a manual and a diesel would be sweet.

Its kinda funny, when u were at SEMA and watching u go around, i was thinking the same thing about the Xterra should be back in production. Long time subscriber, keep the great content coming! ♥️
I agree. I miss the XTerra. The elevated back seat was a nice feature.
Yes for the Xterra!! Had a 97 Pathfinder, gave it to a friend and it's still going at 490 000km!
Love the color matched top, very nice!! And yes, the Xterra needs to come back, smaller/midsize vehicles are fading away and it's a damn shame.
It looks nice, is well equipped for the price, and it doesn't have some wet fart of a turbo 4cylinder huffing away under the hood. The VQ actually sounds like an internal combustion engine. I like it.
Yes on a new Xterra! I’m driving mine that I bought 23 years ago!
Thanks!
I have a 2011 xterra with the 6 speed manual and i love that truck. I wish they'd bring it back.
i always wanted the xterra supercharged
I shared your video to my xterra groups! ❤
That little Crosstrek was an animal🔥
As you stated, after setting aside what they DIDN'T resurrect (a body-on-frame SUV), for what it is at its price, that's a nice vehicle. Nice color as well.
ABSOLUTLEY YES! Bring back the Xterra ! I Loved Mine! It was 4x4 and a Rare Manual W/ 260 HP! Very Fun!
I drove my brand new 2006 Xterra off the lot in May of 2006 with19 miles on the odometer. Still my daily driver, though I took the bus to work for 12 years, and it only has 92,000 on it now. I love that thing and I would love to see Nissan bring it back.
My 05, also bought new, only has 96,000. For what little I could sell it for, it's worth keeping.
I just drove my 05 Xterra thru snow and ice. Flick the 4x4 on. Go.
Yokohama Geolandar tires were excellent.
Bring back the Xterra. I had a 2002 and loved it. I traded it for a Titan and now that is being discontinued.
Loved the Xterra. Was thinking this exact same thing just a couple of days ago.

I'M GLAD SOMEONE'S SAYING IT OUT LOUD! I would probably buy a first year model cus i want one so bad.
I own a 2006 Xterra Off Road. It would be nice to see a modern version of it! 😃
I miss the Xterra. I had 2 of them. Would buy a third.
The Xterra was really overlooked by quite a few. I like Jeeps and 4Runners, but the Xterra was always more in my tax bracket.
Holy crap is this channel ever high value. to the point, useful information. thank you
I have a 2005 Xterra with over 164,000 miles on it. It's a great vehicle! I've been wanting Nissan to bring back the Xterra for years.🤞
Nissan needs to bring back the Xterra and you need to bring back "Small Sarah"! I use to love how you & SS played off each other!

A new Xterra done right would be so cool! Come on Nissan!!
Currently still have 3 xterra pro 4x (2012, 2015, 2015) and the 2023 pathfinder Rock Creek. The RC IS my first automatic since 1966. My last Pathfinder was a 2001 se 5sp. I love Sarah’s style
Another great video, and also another great outfit that matches the car❤
Yeah bring back the XTerra!
Yes , please please bring back the X - My 2005 is still going super strong .The only vehicle to have to navigate and endure Montreal roads with potholes and moon craters Leaf spring please .Salt is brutal , will need an update eventually.😭
Keep at it, you’re doing great!
Patreon numbers are up, because of your hard work 🇦🇺👍🤗
as a current xterra owner... yes, a new xterra. and make sure it is actually off road capable... dont just make an suv...
As always, your off-road reviews are highly entertaining - love that rally special stage! Top notch, and I was not expecting anything less. Thank you for what you do and Stay Awesome!
I’ve always been a fan of the Pathfinder, but an even bigger fan of the XTerra.
I'm 200,000 on 2007 Xterra RWD. It has been through a beating still looks great and drives great. No major repairs.
I’ve been watching your videos for a few months now, i truly enjoy your content and the honest reviews. Thank you so much for all your content.
I'd love to see a new Xterra. I have a 2019 frontier, it's great, same cabin as what the Xterra had.
Love your car reviews, very entertaining. I think with TC on it would have gone up that dirt hill. Saw another video and seems it could handle it
As the owner of a 2009 Xterra, I would l love to see them come back but I get the feeling they would nerf it and turn it into every other grocery getter.........but with boob lights and a roof rack.
As somebody who has an xterra I would realllllllly like them to bring it back. Only real other option now is the 4runner and the gx. Be nice to have more on the market. (Detroit trash doesn’t count of course)
As alway's a great review. I would love for Nissan to bring back the Xterra! Wish they had never discontinued it.
Saw one this morning.First Pathfinder I’ve seen in awhile
Yes, the Xterra needs a new production run as a rwd body on frame model.
Good to know the vq35GOD is still around.
I had a 88 SE Pathfinder 5 spd. Wish I had it still. Loved that design!
Luv the desert Thunders storm sounds. I could actually smell the wet sage.
Definitely need a new Xterra
Yes bring back the xterra!
Thank you Sarah...another reason I'll keep my '88 Pathfinder
Never sell it
Do you have a video on the off-road Honda Pilot 2024 model? May you compare the Honda Pilot and the Pathfinder?
I just sold my 2012 Xterra, I would buy a new model in a heartbeat
Wow the interior sound dampening is awesome.
Another great Sarah video
Sarah, you simply do the best vehicle reviews out there. I have no interest in this kind of vehicle, but if I were a parent with a family of skiers, I'd give this a close look.
Nissan should definitely do a modern version of the X-Terra that can climb that mountain. ❤❤
Nice all around family wagon to tow the boat and do sand washes, etc.
Dig those shoes!
Just the greatest 😊❤️
I bought the Taiwanese version of NISSAN KICKS. Now most cars don’t have spare tires. Now in Taiwan, I have started to use environmentally friendly tire sealant to directly drive into the tires. The trunk space in the back has become larger and I can put a lot of things under it!
Xterra Please!
I still drive my 2002/190K Xterra. Bulletproof.
I would seriously consider buying an Xterra. Body on frame would increase that likelihood.
