Ah, Janet. One of those crazy soap characters we should have hated, but loved anyway. It was probably Robin Mattson. No matter what Janet did, she somehow made her sympathetic. One of those rare recasts I loved more than the original. At least things did work out for Janet and Trevor for a while.
Janet ALWAYS tugged at my heartstrings. When I first saw her talking to herself at the Pine Cone motel, I was so creeped out by her but then slowly, Robin Mattson started creating this wonderful character that made me laugh, cry, and then cheer on. She is my favorite Janet by far.
Lorrie Rack As I stated before,Robin Mattson's portrayal of Janet was a journey for the All My Children audience.We needed her to go through trials and tribulations in order to have sympathy for the character.If Janet was just a cookie cutter soap opera character,it wouldn't have connected with the audience.Robin Mattson's acting was like John Wayne in "The Searchers".
I know this may not be the popular statement to make here but: YOU GO JANET!! Next to the time Erica let the town have it at her award reception, I have not enjoyed a better read of PV townspeople.
They were asking for it. Bout damn near everyone did bad shit in Pine Valley yet they have the nerve to treat Janet like garbage EVEN as she was busting her ass trying to make amends. We NEED more scenes snd storylines like this where someone on a redemption path calls out thr people who refuse to give them a chance (yet they can do bad things to each other and not even bother to apologize).
@@lizziemonk927 I agree. Laurel was an embezzler who caused Natalie to die. Tad the Cad Martin slept with not just Liza but her mom Marian. Sweet Little Dixie broke up Brooke and Adam's Marriage. Even Opal started out as a free loader of the Martins and pushed Jenny into modeling.
she does have a point. A lot of them PC residents have done rather despicable things. Were they punished? not nearly as bad as Janet. She served her punishment by now and had really done nothing wrong unless you count fraud. Just a shame 2005-06 had to happen. That came out of nowhere!
Wow!!! To see this is so strange after I just finished the entire storyline of Janet and Trevor falling in love and getting married just about 2 years after this scene. It was such a great story and Janet and Trevor had the best chemistry! They are my new faves and I just adore Robin Mattson!
She did a cooking demonstration at a home show once in my city and she was so funny! The cooking equipment wasn't plugged in and she didn't realize it for quite some time! Reminded me of Lucille Ball!!
Janet has always been my favorite character. Robin Mattson is Janet to me ... Kate Collins will always be Natalie. Robin really made that character her own. I hated how they made Janet all goody goody and then of all people got with Trevor (barf) that was too unrealistic even for a soap opera. They should have let her be who she really was, a loon that you could feel sorry for. I was so heartbroken when they ruined her character! It was a great ride while it lasted. The best AMC had to offer!
Agreed I saw this version first and when they later brought back Kate Collins and then I was able to see the original Janet story on YT I was like she’s a cartoon and didn’t like it

Maybe back then but Robin's Janet was more likable and redeemable. And u didn't like how they brought Kate back as Janet and undo everything and had her kill off Trevor in the most stupid way. Even way back then I had a hunch that the actress wanted it this way because I read her and the actor playing Trevor didn't like each other. Just this past year I found out that my assumption was dead on! No wonder AMC was tanking those last few years before they canceled

I never bought that Trevor would marry Janet after what she did to Natalie. And Janet ended up murdering him.
