Showed this video to my 6yo son and he said "this is going to be SUPER EPIC!" and it was. His face lit up when you mentioned the Scouts and when you did the flip toss. Thanks of the great moment with the fam.
Brian, you are the man. So talented. I just picked up a couple hawks for camp work. I bought a rifleman and a pipe. Then I bought another rifleman cause I really like their feel, and someone stole it from my po box. Some people on this planet suck. Great video man. 2 more weeks and it's woods time.
Excellent how to Brian! It took me a lot of practice to figure out how to do this on my own, so this will be very helpful to those interested in trying it for the first time.
Great video, Brian! The first piece of gear I ever bought when I got into buckskinning back in the mid 70s was a hand-forged 'hawk. Little did I know what a huge mistake that was.......I ended up spending a fortune on tipis, hand-built custom muzzleloaders, buffalo robes, etc. Try throwing it with the bit up, instead of down, for a spin & a half......it ends up sticking in the block with the handle sticking straight up in the air. Just another fun variation to try. Thanks, again!
I really enjoyed the video I was looking at these hawks form hatchets and axes and then I ran across your video. It was very helpful in making a decision. Thanks a lot. I also wanted to say I like your other vids too
Awesome video. I am a fairly new subscriber to your channel. Found you via PM101 but I gotta say I'm really liking your channel and the content of your videos. Thanks for what you do
Not sure if this comment has already been made and I'm too lazy to read them all to find out...BUT... I think you chunk the hawks better than you do the knives ; ) Great fun and entertainment. I always enjoy throwing at 1.5 (odd) distance and throwing half handle ( reverse). You end up with the handle up instead of down. Good job Bryan!!
MY MY MY .... WHAT A THROWS !!! .....I double like it .boss. My son watch this clips for five times I always like your ..... "WELL BALANCE " ..... videos
Well that's pretty good skills for a layman. I may be inspired to pick up a set of throwing knives and give this sport a try. Can't let you have all the fun lol.
Survival On Purpose lol anyone who is into knives is easy to amuse a new kife that looks good and good quality and we're amused till we get a new one then just repeat the cycle
I was taught in high school, DONT hit the face of two hammers together. Shrapnel explosion danger. I did it testing, but not hard. The high ping sound was scary, Dangerous. Take care, Craig Stewart
Prepare Learn Survive! It was sharp enough for throwing. I guess it depends on what you plan on doing. It wasn't Wetterlings sharp but I wouldn't call it dull.
Survival On Purpose: Thanks for replying. Sounds like your set came in better shape or WeAllJuggleKnives Just likes modifying his blades right out the box. 😉
Prepare Learn Survive! Maybe both. If I was planning to use these as primary woods tools I would make them sharper but the steel seems good so that shouldn't be too hard to do.
Question... Did you take a metal File to the inner eye of the Tomahawk ? If not, you should. Cause a sharp eye digs into the wood too much. Rounded eye just slides up locking into place better. Great Throws btw. But Who throws their Weapons & Tools ;) :p Ohhh, baton wood with this. Make people's head explode ;)
@@SurvivalOnPurpose English is not my native language. A single word in response can be difficult to interpret. I guess you feel compassion for my problem.
Shadowman Yep Shadowman, I was laughing out loud when I some that Hawk coming at him and the another!! Ha! Toooo funny! >;) I guess we should now call him Little Lucky!
Jake Riethmeier Actually nevermind I just went on their website and on the page. there's a really cool RUclips hype video made by the Council and in the Middle of it a boy sticks a hawk in a target. Huh, Maybe it wasn't as popular in the 80's or something. Camp Rotary, Michigan Video is on their page. But it's only cool if you think Boy Scout based activities and Soloist Guitar Rock is cool and I do, a lot.
Ok, I like the video but I have to ask, What is that skunk looking, hopefully stuffed animal, that shows up misteriously in some of your videos?? :) Just wondering since I haven't seen any small children in your vids.
Ok, so I'll play the game, it appeared at the top left of the "target" when you were thowing the tomahawks and I've seen it in other vids as well. Black with a white stripe a looks to be some kind of stuffed animal. I'm guessing skunk based off the coloration. :)
Hmmm. You know, speaking of skunks, I was actually bitten by one once. It was my sister-in-law's pet skunk but it forever shaped my opinion of them as vile, sneaky little creatures.
Darn!!! Little Stinky is either insane or brave beyond measure!!!! And I noticed when you threw both hawks they actually crossed over each other in flight! Pretty fancy! Fun video Bryan. Nice way to start a Friday!!!! >;) I will add here, my Viking ancestors would be proud. You could pillage with the best of em!!!!!!I I mean REALLY??? Sideways AND underhanded throws?? OMG!!! HAW!!!

Robert M Wow! Please tell your son that he absolutely MADE MY DAY!
I do a bit of axe throwing. Its fun as hell

+bashfulbrother Cool. My first one was the Trail Hawk
Super cool! I remember had throwing station at scout camp over 20 years ago! Nice tomahawks.
They still have one in our summer camp.
Excellent how to Brian! It took me a lot of practice to figure out how to do this on my own, so this will be very helpful to those interested in trying it for the first time.
Practice is fun too.
Down to earth, honest just a joy to watch. IMHO one of the best out there for what it’s worth..
It's one of my personal favorites just because I had so much fun making it.

Craig Oldsen Well now you've done it Craig. You know I have to try that now.
Those things are great and you can pack just thenhead and fashion a handle in the field, very high pack abilities
Yep.and fun too.
AWESOME video, thanks for sharing!!
SUFFICIENT SURVIVAL Thanks.
Good throwing, great to see this art expressed, keep ignoring the fools who tell you what to do and what not to do. Love your vids.
Thanks for the support!
This was a great informative and fun video. Thanks
Mostly fun. Thanks.

Tee Harris You will not be disappointed with SOP. It's number one for me and I subscribe to 30 channels.
Tee Harris Bryan is a great guy and makes great vids. Ive learned a lot from him. Ill bet his Scouts do as well.
You had alot of fun with this one.
Yes I did
I learned to throw tomahawks at Pre Dixie in '09. I just rebuilt my old target and put it back up lol.

+Mark Ashlock I think it is actually easier than throwing knives once you get the distance figured out.

Tell him I'm glad he liked it. I had fun making it.

Good job
Awesome! You seemed to have your technique down fast. Cool video!
These things almost throw themselves.
Well that's pretty good skills for a layman. I may be inspired to pick up a set of throwing knives and give this sport a try. Can't let you have all the fun lol.
I think you should
man that looked like so much fun know I need a throwing hawk / tomahawk
lol you looked so surprised you nailed the double flip hahaha
I am easily amused.

+Chase Drake cool. It is just plain fun
I didn't buy anything from your store but still used the Amazon link from this channel... Does it still help you?
Yes it does. Thanks!
Throwing stuff in general is fun
Dylan Lewis Isn't it?
Survival On Purpose I threw my hammer and anvil a few times just for kicks and giggles
Like Thor?
Survival On Purpose the hammer, yes, the anvil to see how far I can throw it
Did the blade/edge come ready or did you have to sharpen them?
Saw another reviewer that said his came dull and they needed sharpening.
Prepare Learn Survive! It was sharp enough for throwing. I guess it depends on what you plan on doing. It wasn't Wetterlings sharp but I wouldn't call it dull.

I saw it again, what is that skunk looking thing, this time it was on top of the log at 6:01
Seriously? A skunk? Are you sure?
No, I don't actually think it was a skunk but look at the video at 6:01 on the block of wood what is it
I'm afraid to look. I'm scared of skunks.
Awesome!
Good clean fun
Looks like a great classic tomahawk. It'd be top of my list if I wasn't living in scrubby machete-land :3
cnawan I'm sure you can throw a machete too.
You mean "balance test" a machete :)
And yes you can, but watch out they're springy
cnawan Yeah, but they make that cool sound when they stick.
Pepe LePew almost got axed! Good throwing.🙋
Thanks. I had fun with this one.
much better use for a tomahawk that how i uesed my last week (stuck it in my leg not being careful) going to try it out
ED MaCallum Please don't stick it in your leg.
i wont be doing that again hurts way to much like i said my fault not paying attention but i wont let it get me to down got to keep going
OMGosh, you're like an indian warrior. TIU-Thx!
;-)
the first camporee I went to I was surprised that they had tomahawk throwing and I discovered I am bad a throwing but it was fun.
does knife throwing help learn to through tomahawks or what?
Sure

+Brian Mccann yep
I wish hatchetsandaxes had a European store.
With tax and shipping it becomes very expensive for us outside the US to buy these fine crafts.
Bummer

Who's that playing drums? You can just barely hear it in the background.
Good stuff as always. I do love me a tomahawk.
Jeff Baeder Me too. Ever since I was a kid watching Daniel Boone and Mingo.
Hi Bryan hehehe this time little stealth stinky got away with his life lucky one :-) Greets
I always heard skunks were lucky.
Shadowman Yep Shadowman, I was laughing out loud when I some that Hawk coming at him and the another!! Ha! Toooo funny! >;) I guess we should now call him Little Lucky!
Gee, I never woulda thought Tomahawk throwing was Boy Scout approved. I don't think there was a range at the camp I went to.

That's because I don't have any small children. I do have 3 teenagers so pray for me.
And what about the skunk, is that some sort of secret message? :)
Old Pup Skunk? What skunk? ;-)

Charles Larson Do you watch the TV series 'Vikings'? Awesome show - lots of axes, swords & knives :)
Do I watch?? Of course! Ha!!!!! My ancestors showed the world how to handle a battle axe. They were not a fun bunch.
Charles Larson Thanks Charles. This may have been my funnest video to make yet.

Harry Mcleod Thanks Harry. Just having a little fun.
