I found it very hard to burn on Hawk handles since their hickory. (the grain of the wood ) I’m amazed at your work.

Excellent instruction and video both! Can you teach us about how to adjust the throw for more accuracy and consistency? Many of my shots go a bit wide or high or low. Just want to learn how to zero in on a spot. Also maybe talk about how you repair or replace those split handles? Thanks for doing this!

Those are great ideas! I'm shooting gear reviews all next week (between teaching classes) and then hopefully back to outdoor education videos. I try to mix it up a little. Thanks so much for taking the time to watch and comment. You may also be interested in our primitive arts class coming up. Our website is in the middle of an upgrade so check back in the coming week for details if that sounds like your kind of thing. ~Craig

What are your thoughts on tomahawks that are solid metal without the wooden handles?

The good throwers are Beaver Bill, the lesser quality ones are Cold Steel

great video! Very thorough. If you do a similar video in the future, I'd recommend slow motion on the side shots if you can. It might help better illustrate what's happening upon impact.
