  • A unique way to relieve stress, and you could say it's all the "rage" across the country. A new "rage room" in Utah County has opened to allow people to blow off a little steam.
"I wanted to do a smash room because I wanted to do something different," said Nate Stutz, owner of "Phat Ax".
Participants put on protective clothing, gloves, a hard hat and goggles before entering the smash room. They also get to choose between a baseball bat, a sledgehammer, a golf club, an axe handle or a crowbar for their weapon.
Finally, they decide what they're going to break, anything from glass bottles and plates to old TVs and furniture.
Even with differing opinions on how effective rage rooms are as anger management tools, there's no question in Stutz's mind, as long as his customers leave smiling, it's a smashing success.

I mean for people who have anger issues and just have so much bottled up this is a good activity to do like it’s not dangerous

Lol exactly it’s almost like when ppl listen to metal or rock music. It’s helpful. I haven’t gone there yet but I’m going soon cuz imma let off some steam cuz it gets annoying when ur considered the troubled one and u always choose peace like nah screw that imma go get out my anger cuz I need to break something. Better paying for it at a rage room than just up and doing it at home. As long as ur used to choosing peace then ur good

Hmmm, this will release surface anger and only temporarily. Deep seated anger will need more help. I personally don’t have the urge to violently destroy things to release anger which means it wouldn’t work for me, but it clearly works for a lot of people.

Rage room - the name itself means that you become enraged!
It absolutely does NOT (and CANNOT) help with anything.
What nobody talks about is that people feel happy after smashing stuff because they feel Adrenalin rush! That simple 🤷🏼‍♂️
It can’t release stress, because when you feel stressed your Adrenaline increases. With elevated Adrenaline, you go to the Rage Room and ELEVATE more Adrenaline.
Also, the Rage Room concept is based on a very old, not supported by research evidence model of Cathartic Release.
Smashing stuff also makes one more aggressive! There’s plenty of scientific support to illustrate this point.
And, finally - this is very damaging to children who have issues with aggression.
People, stop throwing your $$ away if you’re seeing stress release and anger management. Find a good therapist.

"Rage Rooms" = Teaching ppl how to behave like devolved animals & dressing it up as "therapy". Compare genuine therapy = The teaching of self-mastery and self-control towards self-actualisation.

"Traditional therapy" =Temporary and/or false sense of hope and control & airing out your personal business all while draining your bank account.
      Rage Rooms = Priceless 😊

@@Artificial_Intelligence00 I was going to point out exactly the same thing! 🙌🏾 Except one still has to pay for a Rage Room, so somebody is still making money. People should create their own Rage Rooms at home or somewhere.
