    Best install video I’ve ever seen the others just make it look like stuff comes off and goes on smooth when really there’s beating cussing bending and no room for even 1/4 turns of bolts involved I love it great video man

    Great job! I would recommend a spray rust penetrant and over night soak, if feasible, then remove.

      True, but not a big issue when you have a Milwaukee high torque. 😂 😂

      That heat shield was very annoying! I just did mine. But I think I have to replace the v band clamp from the turbo. I’m having a small exhaust leak 🙄

      @@kendrikcastro1047yup. It’s best to replace them even when they still look good after they have a few years on them. A bit of anti seize on the heat shield bolts is also helpful.

    I know you have to pull the top heat shield off, but did you have to remove the heat shield on the actual down pipe itself? Thanks for the content, much appreciated.

    • @TheGoleboy
      @TheGoleboy 2 года назад +1

      Yea , did you NOT remove OEM down pipe heat shield? It just drops out the bottom ?

  • @jimsjacob
    @jimsjacob Месяц назад

    I’ve seen videos that state you can get away with just loosing the transmission dip stick mount without pulling it out and such. It was on an 06, so maybe the design had changed?

    Can you do a video on how to drill out bolt studs that rust and snap in the thread?

    • @MrSubaru1387
      @MrSubaru1387  4 года назад

      I've been planning to. Hard to make a video on it, because no two broken bolts come out the same way or with the same method.

    I wish mine was this easy. Had to fight to get the downpipe close to where i could get the vband back on. Now the dipstick tube is hard against the dp, and no way to get those brackets back on.

  • @tripp121283

    I did an egr delete with an upgraded lb7 uppipe. The 3 inch downpipe will not fit . I tried bending it by beating it with a sledgehammer but still the bellows on the up-pipe are larger than the stock up-pipe and are preventing me from getting it flush against the turbo and I cant get the vband on. My up-pipe and downpipe came together as a kit but did not include a different vband clamp. When I strike it with the mallet its bending the other side of the pipe as well. If I had something to insert into the downpipe I could bend just the specific area but I'm not a machine shop and don't have bending machines or anything hard and heavy to put through it to beat to the desired shape. I tried putting the stock downpipe back on but it too is having this problem. The flanges will not meet up evenly. What happens is I'll start tightening the vband and it push the downpipe off every time. I dont know what to do. Any ideas?

    I have a 2005 lly. It is all stock with the exception of an AFE turbo inlet mouthpiece. After 160,00 miles, I'm not sure I really needed it or noticed a significant improvement. Did you find this upgrade to have a significant impact on performance?

    • @MrSubaru1387
      @MrSubaru1387  3 года назад +1

      Which? The turbo horn or the downpipe? Butt dyno agreed on both being improvements in power.

      I was interested in your opinion on the down pipe. I take your response as a yes - worth doing! Thanks for the reply. Also, I recently replaced all of my injectors and your injector video was very helpful!

    Nice Job...🥰 That Milwaukee right angle ratchet is worth it's weight in Gold...
    OMG how long did this take you?

    • @MrSubaru1387
      @MrSubaru1387  4 года назад +1

      Nope, they've been metric for decades. Semis are about all that's still SAE, but they've shifted metric the last 5-10 years. Harley Davidson is about the last SAE user, aside from heavy-duty equipment/earth movers.

  •  4 года назад +1

    I've never seen one of those factory downpipes.... that's scary sad and restrictive...people putting on these massive 4 and 5 inch exhausts just so they can have that giant restriction? Also i just despise dip stick tubes when they engineer them so you just can't move them, take them out, they get stuck, they leak, they rott out, some of the chevys you either need to take off the exhaust manifold or bend the tube to replace it... what a sad design.
