Those are 14in calipers on the front and 12 in the rear. This thing wouldn't be the track monster it is with crummy factory brakes. The fact that it doesn't have "Brembo" brakes is irrelevant. The car was designed from Germany from a guy who developed the BMW M series. Good enough pedigree for me.

Yeah I’m buying one tomorrow, giving in my k5 gtline as a trade, k5 is nice but I’m looking for a little speed, the k5 GT was my to-go-to but Elantra N packs it up in any race.
@@porfiriato84 It’s Outstanding. Love the sporty feel, it’s one of those cars that you keep looking back at when you park it, admiring it. The front is meh, but the back is clean. It has eco, normal, sport and N Mode. I have a habit driving in N mode only, def a gas guzzler but it’s just so good hearing those pops. I’m in NJ cops don’t mind it. The handling is excellent. The mile range I get on a full tank is 272; That depends if you get those lucky fuel-ups, gotten 307 then 287, 272 but then down to 244 then it jumps back up. It’s alright though. The car broke a lot of people’s necks, a woman came up to me once I started it up when I came out the store and she said, “wtf is that a Hyundai making that sound?” Not in a rude tone, more like a surprised (who would of thought) Tone. I chose the performance blue w/ red trim, looks hella nice. When I picked it up it was sitting in a special show room. Even tho the mrsp says , 35k it was bumped up to a whooping 42k. Due to mark up pricing, sucked but I worked out a deal to get 4-5k off lucky, the salesman I had happened to be a real car guy and we became close on that test drive. Overall the car is superb, do I think there are other options out there for the price I settled with? Probably yes, saw the Nissan 400z Nismo at 41k but with markup another 7k ontop plus fees would def make it 50k. Looking for a fun sports car with 276 + turbo button? This is the car, beats most cars on the road excluding you know actually built sports cars. I did race a 5.7 hemi dodge charger, Elantra N does FANTASTIC on rolls, remember that. There’s custom launch controls but I’m still working on using it, I’m gonna buy parts and try to up it to 300hp and wheels. I got some friends interested and on the edge of buying the Elantra N too.
@@nyjuanjoga1425 nice feedback. I'm wondering tho, did you break it in? That fuel range seems way too low. Unless it has to do with always having it in N mode and driving hard? I placed an allocation request at my local dealer for this car. I remember test driving it and I fell in love with it. I cannot wait until it arrives. Also, great review!
I own this exact vehicle, same color with the manual transmission. I get lots of compliments no matter where I go. As someone who drove many MT cars, such as, the 2020 370z Nismo, 2020 Civic Type R, WRX STI, Porsche Cayman, the list goes on… this is my favorite to date. It should be illegal to drive this car in any mode other than ‘N’ mode. That exhaust sound is a panty dropper. Absolute beast!!!
That is absolutely untrue. The throws are so short that there’s hardly a difference between neutral and in gear. It’s very notchy, however I believe the Type R and 370z Nismo feel slightly better. With that said, the Elantra N has the best clutch out of all MT I drove from my experience - it’s in the middle of the travel and very obvious compared to the Civic Si 10th and 11th gen, Civic Sport touring and Type R.
@@DiplomatGaming well that's good to know. I've been considering this and the BMW 230i. For the money it's hard to pass this up but I still worry about Hyundai's reliability.
I can attest that manual transmission on this is really good. After 8k miles of driving 0 issues. Had 14 brz before the trans on that was rough especially during cold but this N trans is butter smooth and equally short throws anytime anywhere. Pls don't listen just about everything internet says
unfortunately, the Elantra N was recalled twice in two months this year, one for a wet-clutch DCT transmission failure due to a malfunctioning oil pump, the other recall was for the Hyundai emblem on the driver's airbag inadvertently becoming a projectile.
Had to slam on my breaks to avoid an accident and the hyundail emblem on my grill flew off like a ninja star.. good ring I had a dash cam or else it would have been a $300 replacement
It was actually the seat belt tensioner that could explode. I just had mine in to get fixed. Also, my manual clutch was installed backwards so that was recalled awhile back as well 😂 never personally experienced any issues though, I'm very happy with my purchase.
Civic R has smooth flowing lines. This N kinda reminds me of Architectural Designs created for effect on the sides and rear fascia. They don't look purposeful, perhaps somewhat contrived. You know, like the 72 Javelin with those sharp edged blown out wheel well fenders in front.
So it’s the exact same as the 22 N. Was hopeful Hyundai would add some led turn signals, flat bottom steering wheel and some rear vents would be nice as well.
What in the world??? That exhaust sounds aftermarket. This actually is a clean car. That red pops. Imagine this with a panoramic black top. Take the badges off, and you wouldn’t even know it’s a Hyundai.
Yes this dont need Bremos. Stock breaks are amazing even for fast driving. The car doesnt understeer at all. I take sharp corners at 35-40 MPH, if you keep gas pedal pressed in 3 or 4th, rear end will drag/swing
I've really been wanting the N for a long while, but the GR86 is a lot easier to get because my dealership isn't marking me up for one, and there's almost no wait time. I'm just pulling the trigger for the 86. Both cars are amazing.
Not surprised. google 'silicone in oil pickup'. Given that I'd buy an NA engine cause it'll last forever, 86 is now off my list. However, youtube sites who gets hits from rebuilding engines are loving it.
@parsram I've been knowing that for a while now, and it's not just the oil pickup. RTV is in other places of the engine. Honestly bro it's the only thing holding this car back is the POS engine. I ended up finding an Elantra N 6 speed.
@Moresco24 I think a majority of sports cars will be more reliable than the 86. Oil starvation is serious. Subaru makes really ass engines. As long as you keep good maintenance on any car, it should take care of you. It's also worth mentioning that you don't FLOOR the car all the time. You can do some spirited driving, but not ALWAYS. Properly breaking in the engine is also super important.
Joe, Another great review, something that I really appreciate. I have a Ceramic White 'N' with the DCT which I love but I've been thinking of buying a second 'N' with the manual. I currently have a '22 Civic Si I just picked up and it's nice but I miss the power of the 2.0 liter 'N'. I was going to opt for the new Civic Type R but when I saw the price at almost $45K plus insan market agjustment I took that off my list. The Hyundai is such a better deal, there's no comparison. After driving my DCT 'N' for 3 months I look forward to starting it up and hearing that engine every single day. The Honda sounds like a sewing machine in comparison. Like you say in the review, a car makes you feel a certain way and the Hyundai engineers have hit the bullseye in driving feel. I may call Crown today and get me on the list for the next MT as I'm sure the one in your review is gone by now!
Love this car. Tempted to pull the trigger on a black MT, but here in Minnesota, my AWD Mazda 3 turbo is a much better 4 season DD. Could use a little help here, Raiti’s Rides family…
Yes. The exhaust. I don't understand why automakers don't put sporty exhaust on sporty cars. My Edge ST, no exhaust note. K5 GT, no exhaust note. At least dodge learned. Back when I had my Charger and Challenger RT (2015) they had no exhaust sound I had to get Scat Packs to get a great exhaust note, now the Charger RT has a nice beefy exhaust
“I can see Thomas Edison in there flipping the bulb on and off” 😂😂😂. Best reviews. People do get worked up if lights aren’t LED. Not too a big of a deal to is most are LED.
what did you think about having a rear facing car seat in the back and still have room for someone 5 10 in the front seat passenger side with space and comfort?

Those are 14in calipers on the front and 12 in the rear. This thing wouldn't be the track monster it is with crummy factory brakes. The fact that it doesn't have "Brembo" brakes is irrelevant. The car was designed from Germany from a guy who developed the BMW M series. Good enough pedigree for me.
@@frequencyharmonic2054 wrong brand bud, he designed the KIA line up, the K5 to G-line and GT.
Excellent work joe and incredible work Steven! 😊🎉
So excited to get mine.
Also, the 8-speed DCT comes standard with a sunroof, at least for US models
It will be worth the wait!
the best sound in the world .. from a 4 cilinder.
It really has a nice tone.
The N rules!! Amazing car.
I own an N, if you think it’s too busy get the car in Black. It cleans up the look. This car is incredible! Absolutely love it!
Don't black cars end up looking more dirty tho?
Does the intense blue help clean up the look too?
I am the farthest thing from an Hyundai Fan … but I must admit this and the Kia stinger and Hyundai veloster are awesome vehicles …. Props to Hyundai and Kia for dropping those models !!
Great job like always Joe and Lori I'm impressed the car drove great for what it is besides the awkward lines.
It really is a blast!
Yeah I’m buying one tomorrow, giving in my k5 gtline as a trade, k5 is nice but I’m looking for a little speed, the k5 GT was my to-go-to but Elantra N packs it up in any race.
Have you driven it a lot? What's your take on it?
Any reason why you went with DCT over manual?
I probably won't buy a new car until another 12-14 months and my list includes the EN, 230i, 2024 mustang GT 😬
I don't want to go over 40k BTW. Since I want to buy a house as well 😅
@@porfiriato84 if you drive sanely around 70 mph in eco mode you get 35 mpg on long drives. If you drive like you stole it in n mode all the time you get 10 lol.
$34k for 276hp, 4.9sec 0-60, Manual Transmission, Reliability of Hyundai Nowadays , Ok Styling and Decent Tech ,This is what Dreams are Made from. With all the Overprice of Today's Cars this is a Germ💎 for sure.👍💪👏🔥 🔥 🔥
It’s 4.9 for the DCT, this guy butchers every review. Just swing and a miss
I placed an allocation request at my local dealer for this car. I remember test driving it and I fell in love with it. I cannot wait until it arrives. Also, great review!
It will be worth the way!
Did you pay sticker or above ?

I own this exact vehicle, same color with the manual transmission. I get lots of compliments no matter where I go. As someone who drove many MT cars, such as, the 2020 370z Nismo, 2020 Civic Type R, WRX STI, Porsche Cayman, the list goes on… this is my favorite to date. It should be illegal to drive this car in any mode other than ‘N’ mode. That exhaust sound is a panty dropper. Absolute beast!!!
I've read that the manual transmission is a bit choppy and throws are a bit long. And that it's just better with dct. Thoughts?
Driving in N mode is the only way!!! Burns WAY more gas😂 but I saved money not buying the M240X drive.
unfortunately, the Elantra N was recalled twice in two months this year, one for a wet-clutch DCT transmission failure due to a malfunctioning oil pump, the other recall was for the Hyundai emblem on the driver's airbag inadvertently becoming a projectile.
Had to slam on my breaks to avoid an accident and the hyundail emblem on my grill flew off like a ninja star.. good ring I had a dash cam or else it would have been a $300 replacement
This is another reason apart from it's looks that makes me stay away 😒
Sadly every car is going to have it's defects, and damn that one about the emblem sounds scary.
The 2 billion in losses from class action lawsuits and recalls.
It was actually the seat belt tensioner that could explode. I just had mine in to get fixed. Also, my manual clutch was installed backwards so that was recalled awhile back as well 😂 never personally experienced any issues though, I'm very happy with my purchase.
The Elantra N is an amazing car, but I definitely would choose the gr86 over it.
Same
Sounds like a plan!
Good call!
Best bang for the buck especially with no markups and that 100k warranty
Great video Joe, can’t wait to get my Elantra N soon.
IMO, Hyundai’s performance division makes the best sounding 4 cyl exhaust systems from the factory.
You are so very right!
there's just been zero near-MSRP stock near me since the debut, the dealer markups in NY are absurd!
Love your videos and personality Joe. Great video as always
Civic R has smooth flowing lines. This N kinda reminds me of Architectural Designs created for effect on the sides and rear fascia. They don't look purposeful, perhaps somewhat contrived. You know, like the 72 Javelin with those sharp edged blown out wheel well fenders in front.
That is a very good analogy!
So it’s the exact same as the 22 N. Was hopeful Hyundai would add some led turn signals, flat bottom steering wheel and some rear vents would be nice as well.
I was hoping as well.
What in the world??? That exhaust sounds aftermarket. This actually is a clean car. That red pops. Imagine this with a panoramic black top. Take the badges off, and you wouldn’t even know it’s a Hyundai.
Tell em about it!
Great review, your energy is so contagious
That really means so much!
@@RaitisRides You deserve it man
Yes this dont need Bremos. Stock breaks are amazing even for fast driving. The car doesnt understeer at all. I take sharp corners at 35-40 MPH, if you keep gas pedal pressed in 3 or 4th, rear end will drag/swing
Thanks for your input!
You can also get the upgraded N Performance brakes as part of the N Performance options
@@canadianaviator not in US tho

Thank you for letting me share it with you!
On the death star I’d put like those sticky phone holders there or something just to make it useful

🚗 Honorable contender in its class with a 10.25" 'N'fotainment system.
Thank you Joe and Steven! 🤠
You are so very welcome!
I own a 22 Kona N an I absolutely love it !
I prefer the Hyundai with the Manual Transmission I love that...... Sharp looking sedan.....
Heck yeah man!
Joe is a type of a guy to adjust tyre pressure with his mouth
I've really been wanting the N for a long while, but the GR86 is a lot easier to get because my dealership isn't marking me up for one, and there's almost no wait time. I'm just pulling the trigger for the 86. Both cars are amazing.
2 different cars though, Elantra N is faster 86 for handling
Not surprised. google 'silicone in oil pickup'. Given that I'd buy an NA engine cause it'll last forever, 86 is now off my list. However, youtube sites who gets hits from rebuilding engines are loving it.
@parsram I've been knowing that for a while now, and it's not just the oil pickup. RTV is in other places of the engine. Honestly bro it's the only thing holding this car back is the POS engine. I ended up finding an Elantra N 6 speed.
@@lawnmower6591 would you guys say the Elantra will be more reliable even with the turbo ?
@Moresco24 I think a majority of sports cars will be more reliable than the 86. Oil starvation is serious. Subaru makes really ass engines. As long as you keep good maintenance on any car, it should take care of you.
It's also worth mentioning that you don't FLOOR the car all the time. You can do some spirited driving, but not ALWAYS. Properly breaking in the engine is also super important.
hey how is the ride quality compared to normal elantras?
Good video joe hope you do a review on a 2023 Hyundai sonata n line
Fingers crossed I will track one down.
Love the triangles and catfish front end
Love this car. Tempted to pull the trigger on a black MT, but here in Minnesota, my AWD Mazda 3 turbo is a much better 4 season DD. Could use a little help here, Raiti’s Rides family…
Tough decision.

What does he know.
@@RaitisRides He said that the vehicle is too loud from the factory.
Great review you might have to buy one you had so much fun. If my knees weren’t bad I get one.
My dream car, right now I have the NLine which isn’t bad. I heard the car having lots of pull over cause of the loud exhaust; Still beautiful car. ❤
I have the 2021 N line Elantra is a beautiful car I love it ❤
Yes, Elantra N is much more fun, better value car than any other car in this price range.
You are so very right about that.
The Thomas Edison comment on the rear turn signals got me cracking up!
The interior is a bit disappointing but the performance is great and for that price is a pretty good option to consider.
Great call Omar!
