The man and his band are on fire during this performance across the borderline. I am sure that Bruce's fuse has been lit by the inexplicable landslide election of the previous year and inauguration of Ronald Reagan on the previous day. In this passionate performance, we see a great American who is too aware of reality to ever have the sunny optimism, blind faith, and ignorant patriotism of St. Raygun ("Ray" refers to the rays if sunshine/smoke that Douche, uh, Dutch blew up the fat butts of duped Americans for 8 painful years, and "gun" refers to Ronnie's unwavering support for NRA lunatics despite the fact that he was nearly killed by a gun on March 30, 1981).
Reagan was a foe of the blue-collar middle class. However, these old rockers e.g. Springsteen, Young, etc supporting crooks like Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden who abandoned the Left's concern for economics for sexual liberation (control) is asinine.
The band was super tight. Bruce would occasionally give up the musical lead to Steven and just have a good time. And then every third or fourth song during the second set Bruce would go solo and give the band a break. From behind the stage you could see them chugging water and trying to catch their breath. Bruce was physically in shape as good as any professional athlete ever. The crowd got tired before Bruce. You never forgot the show.
