Yes pls I’m sure there’s a lot of us that would like how to use telemetry to improve driving and also how to use it for settting up the car. Love your videos keep up the good work and happy holidays !!!
Yes yes yes! Please! Lots of telemetry tutorials! I have Motec, I've loaded Motec, I've closed Motec! Learning more from a chap like you could be invaluable.
@@BNJ_VODS Yep! Both Nils and Aris have great tutorials on how to use telemetry. But this one from Nils is perfect because it’s not too long and he makes it relatively easy to understand. Cheers and happy racing!
A telemetry tutorial would really help. I always like Jardier's advises because each time I get to watch his tutorial videos I'm immediately getting faster by 0.3 to 0.5...
Thanks for this video. So much of this is stuff I already know but whats hard is trying to listen to yourself sometimes. Or the other side is spacing out how to work on the various issues I maybe having and when I chose to work on them.
Love Jardier so much, he has such a great spirit and is my inspiration to practice some laps even if I do not feel like it. Man is a savage when it comes to that dedication
Awesome video. I changed how I practice this past week and it has really paid off. First, run as many laps as necessary to get familiar with the track. Depends if it's your favorite track or first time. Then setup a 2 car 10 min. race. I use 100% aggression and start the opponent at 80% skill. You have to follow the car for all laps and only pass on the last lap. I do multiple 10 min. races until I can easily stay with the car and also practice different overtake scenarios (still without actually overtaking). When it becomes comfortable, move the opponent skill level up by 3%. It's hard to stay close enough to the car in front so that you can pass on the last lap. Particularly in carrying enough speed on corner exit. It also takes a lot of self control and patience. Interleave some AI races thru the session. I use 20 min races.
Thank you for the cool tips I really appreciate it. Actually Jardier you get better after you sleep from the practice you did the day before because you learn while you sleep, fact.
Jardier... Yes please. I have a general understanding on what the graphs on Motec are saying, but what it should be and how to get the most out of it is what is missing.
I recently started my journey to find the reason why I loose 2,5 sec to the aliens. Hotlap challenges are a good indicator of pace. The agressive setup might use brake balance 62% but the fast guys are using something like 55% that enables them to brake much later. I think my main problem is braking... I need to trail brake.
Braking later with lower brake bias seems flipped. Less bias means less braking power to the front which gets the most grip when braking. So I stand by it, 95 or more of the aliens are using hacks
@@AtMyOwnPace10 Think about ABS. In principle ABS cuts off braking power when too much braking force is applied. The more balanced the brake bias is, the better all tyres will be slowed down individually. When you have too much bias on the front, the movement of the rear tyres isn't intervened as much when braking, resulting in longer braking distance. So in theory 50% would be optimal, but you know, that can make the rear end way more loose than you would like. So you need to find a good compromise between stopping power and control over the car.
Im my biggest critic... always telling myself off for pushing to hard instead of keeping the cool head an being smoother, more balanced an overall... KEEP the Consistency!! This is key ;)
Yeah, a good Motec tutorial would be very helpful. Take two laps 3 seconds apart and show where the faster guy gains that time. I struggle with reading the comparison mode and the position on the track at the same time. Scratching my head more than I thought I would.
Reading the telemetry and adjust the car settings during the race are the two most important things in the sim racing games. And let's not forget about practice...practice the hell out of the car you want to race with and also the tracks you want to race on. Eventually you will get there :). It is a slow learning curve, but once you get all the things you need to do, you will start to enjoy it even more. At first I was shit, I did not even like what I was doing but I said to myself...dude...you are not a pro from the first minute you are putting your hands on a wheel...even if I drive for more than 20y, sim racing is way more different. But after all the struggle, it became a fun place to go to sooo, hand tight and practice :)
It is challenging to practice race craft with other cars in ACC due to the behavior of AI cars. In ACC, AI drivers tend to brake too much and too early, which is not commonly seen in human drivers. Therefore, using AI in ACC can lead to developing bad habits.
Im sure this is a great video. But i was litrually writing the script for a how to practice effectively video for my channel and then got the notification for this vid 😑Great minds think alike 😅
that's my problem... i love porsche and i drive just with porsche... but i can't get further... Nurburg if i have good day i do 1.59 and other they do 1.52.... friends in sim racing... i start my Discort half year ago but nobody join to share... so actualy is inpossibile to improve..

Nobodys fault that im poor and have to play like this but good hardware is also important...i could try all day for years that i cant get that second behind the aliens... For example in Brand Hatchs i do 1:24 high i can never get to 1:23 with this hardware, Monza only 1:49 and i race for several years those times are after lots and lots of practice. Im not as good as Jardier or others but it looks to me that is important to have a good hardware.
