Hi Freddie! One thing to consider, while Bonnie is at the specialist. I would have them look and see what fuel map is on it. You had 2-1 aftermarket exhaust, that would require richer air fuel mixture and a different map. I would put the stock map back on. I had the same exact bike and that is what I had done! Best of luck with it!
Good luck with things getting fixed. Ben through similar issues, it is so frustrating. I ride all year round, so need reliability. Sit down, take the 2 weeks, figure out what all this is costing, then decide , youneedto get a newer bike. Love the channel, keep the vids coming. All the best.
Good luck with the Bonneville, It should be fine soon and for the long term as well. Love the antique sideboard. My parents had something very similar. It also compliments your coffee table. Thank gawd for that, your in good hands with Trimoto. Once fixed just follow these 3 simple steps - 1. Get Trimoto to service it once a year. 2. Clean it regularly. 3. Keep away from servicing it yourself, as you say you're no mechanic & it makes me cringe when you get the tool kit out. 🤐
Fingers crossed on the Bonnie. Brilliant choice on the buffet/sidetable (??? :) because it is gorgeous, and has history. Now you have another beautiful thing to look after....
Replacing the Regulator Rectifier will most likely sort out your charging system. Turn off the headlight while riding or pop the headlight bulb out as that is probably the worst culprit for draining your battery.
What I like about your videos is they are great entertainment with the bikes and the way you also include the places you visit (the scenery ) . As a Harley rider take a look. They are a bit more expensive but at least you won’t be walking. Keep the videos coming
Hi Freddie, I listened to more of your prior video. If you are correct in that the flood water and leaving it outside has affected the electrics that means there is still moisture in the electricals. Not that they are necessarily damaged. All bikes are prone to problems if too much moisture gets into the electricals. But chin up because drying them out fixes the problem 99% of the time. Copious WD40 and put it in a dry place for 24 hours. Although this time of year in London the humidity is very high so it might take a bit longer.
The Sportster? 😁 I owned a mid '90s 883 and despite the nice look it was a moving toilet. Also. You had, and still have, to bring a gas station with you since the capacity of the tank. One thing you could do while the Triumph is at the mechanic, is to make them to change the badges on the tank. Also, why don't you swap the wheels with spoke ones? You have to change the hub and so on, but they're much, much more better looking than the actual ones. More classic style.
Great hopes for the Bonneville! I love those little independent places which specialise and offer good expertise and value. The sideboard unit looks a lot like G-Plan (British) but may well be of Danish origin, that style was popular across Europe. Craftsman-built, much better quality than any modern flat pack stuff.
I hope you get it all sorted, good to find a really good mechanic, sad to think Triumph don't offer the same service for their own bikes, people would be more loyal if they had the same level of love for their bikes as you do
Hope the bonnie will be ok....love the furniture freddie its great that someone saw it in its original state and returned it to its beyter state...😊 returned returned
Hi Freddie, sorry to see you struggle with the bonnie. My wife and I were looking forward to seeing you and Monica on another trip to warmer climes this winter🌞Anything planned?
Things are looking up for the Bonneville, Freddie. You may have found just the right mechanic for the job, especially since he comes highly recommended and is a Triumph specialist. Hopefully this is the end of your trial and error fixes. Fingers crossed. And , your new furniture piece looks to be perfect for your needs. Very attractive and exactly the type of piece that I would buy for myself. Beautiful wood with a variety of storage areas. Cheers.Dan ✌️🏍🇨🇦
Totally drawn into your great videos Freddy. Please have a think about whether you'd love the Bonneville again if Trimoto can make it reliable, which they probably can. That's the test for whether you should keep it or let it go. In a few decades you'll sincerely wish you still got it in any state of repair, people even track their old companions down to try to buy them back at any price. Everyone following the channel wants you to patiently keep her, do you really know how strong that feeling is? The flat is looking great by the way, I like your care and attention to detail. Keep up all the good work.
I started watching this channel for the bike reviews a couple of years back. Now i wait impatiently for each new video. It's all about Freddie, Monica, and there two children (the bonnie and the fiat). You guys do excellent videos and i never get bored. Yall do a good job mixing in everything, not just the motorcycle stuff. I tell everyone i know to subscribe. I even bought a bonneville of my own after watching this channel. Keep up the good work. I think the bonneville will work out. Just having voltage regulation issues, i think.
Hey Freddie, I know it's not for the best reasons, but I'm loving this saga of Bonneville-focused videos! In fact, as many people have already said in the comments, after so many adventures, so many miles and so many joys, you and Bonnie are already too connected to separate right now. I sincerely think that you're already a kind of image of each other, but if you ever decide to change, let it be for another Bonneville, like the T100 or T120, agreed?! Keep it up and ride safe mate! Cheers from a fellow Triumph rider!
Build a box around the bonni.....then fill it to the brim with rice....(cat litter would also do)..put a lid on it and wrap it in cling flim....then leave it for a week......(Same principle when to drop your phone in loo).🤞..😂🤣.....🤪 I'm sure you would get a few YT views on that.!
I never leave my bike with only one lock. I bung on a disc lock on the front, a chain on the back and at night a monster chain and lock. I also have yet another long chain for attaching the bike to railings. Make it more difficult for the scrotes. I also admit to parking up near to bikes with minimal security. They will go for them first. On a lighter note, that sideboard looks like a G-plan my parents had when I was a kid in the early 70s.
Hey Freddie, the bonnie will be alright. That kind of flood would damage any kind of a bike. Take good care of it and it will return the favor for sure.
I hate to be that guy, but my then newish 1979 SR500 survived a flood like that without any bother. I'd even dropped the SR mid flood, after riding into a submerged kerb that was hidden by the flood water. If your tour on a bike in Europe, sooner or later you will get caught in atrocious rain and/or floods. A gook bike needs to be designed and built so that water cannot get to sensitive electrical items and then stop the bike working.
I did 2 trips of 3500 miles round Europe on a 883R sportster with a sissy bar and camping kit, never missed a beat (previously gone on Ducati M900, Yamaha R1 and XT1200) and the sportster trips I enjoyed the most! Don't test one, you'll be hooked 🤣 Like the Super glide sport you tested but better - cheaper, more visceral, more traditional, great parts availability 😁 and you can make it your own. The Bonnie is a nice bike but it needs to work to enjoy it. Good luck with repairs 👍
You say it's changed in your lifetime Freddie. I worked for a company, Amalgamated Asphalt, at the river end of Horn Lane, Greenwich in the late fifties, early sixties with small terraced houses lining the streets instead of swathes of blocks of flats and commercial buildings. It's metamorphised into Legoland now.
I do hope you get the Bonnie fixed quickly and we can have your travelling round on the bike drinking coffee and eating cake back. Going to be interesting to see how being based in London will work out compared to Tenerife and Barcelona 😊
Tri Moto had a lot of Hinckley Triumph 900 carb bikes in there, too, by the looks of it. It's in good hands, but I still think it's time for fresh blood with the amount of riding you do Freddie. Like your's and Monica's taste in furniture too.
A 2amp charger is a tad big for a motorcycle battery.....4amp is way to heavy. It doesn't look like a dedicated bike charger. Disabling the headlamp would help the batter last longer. Good job making it to the garage....wish we had a place like that up my neck of the wood near Liverpool. Hope its not to costly Freddie and fully sorted.
Ohh Freddie & Monika, a beautiful side cabinet indeed. Hopefully the Bonneville is repaired without much cost & it becomes ever so reliable before you travelled to Morocco. Thank you both for your beautiful content, adventures & your energies! Just as a side note: I don’t expect you to know but are MACE constructions the developers of the Greenwich housing development? I did some initial modular designs for them here in Australia they then took back with them to adopt a similar modular structure systems…🤔 That would be interesting to find out👌
Feeling your pain Freddie, 😞… once sorted a great stuff is electrical contact spray, remove all relays from relay box, clean, replace the relays, clean relay box with contact spray or WD40, hopefully a new RegRech, def looks a voltage/continuity issue. sending you and M good vibes 👋 JB 🏴 also look at how to weatherproof the relay box, use ACF50 or Vaseline around vulnerable areas etc to give a bit of a barrier 💡
Hope it’s sorted. Sadly the huge disadvantage of fuel injection is the large amount of electronic sensors this requires .once repaired I recommend you spray your loom and all connectors with a good ignition sealer spray to stop future water ingress.
Oh be extra careful ! Warning NEVER use lithium based it will melt your harness when it heats up. Happened to me more than once. I would stay away from any sealant sprays. Don't trust them. .
That is one cool cabinet. Yes I think you should ditch the Bonnie once it's fixed as it would be great to see you living with a new bke for a change. My choice would be the R.E .Classic 350.
The trials and tribulations of Freddie's Bonnerville are becoming a thing of legend. You've certainly got more patience with it than i would. It's been on and off the road for such a long period this year that my advise is get a GoldStar, all the character in the world and if its like mine it won't let you down.
Just hearing the issues you’re having I think you might just need a new regulator rectifier. Would account for all of your issues and it’s an easy job.
Freddie ..... please hand the picture up before it falls over and the glass smashes, plus you will make Monica a very happy person. Keep up the good work
The furniture is G Plan Sienna Danish fresco, mate. Had the same one in my house. I Was offered a silly amount for it back in the 00's by an antique dealer. Saw one recently, going for sale around the 700 quid mark! You got yourself a nice bit of retro gear there, fella! Made in High Wycombe, I believe. P.s. Sportsters are amazing bikes. Ask me how I know! Lol.
You need a second bike to cover for all eventualities when the Bonnie's not available for whatever reason. Also, we just seem to hear about problems with theft in London. I guess the positives of living there must outweigh the negatives :)
Ok, listened to this whole video now Freddie. Good luck with the guy looking into the Bonnie. The very worst case scenario is that if the electricals are damaged and something like WD40 does not dry them out, then all the wiring has to be replaced. That's a lot of work and quite expensive I am afraid. But that is very rare. I mean if you fell over in water and the bike was submerged that would be the sort of thing to cause that. That is why I said riding through flood water can be so dangerous. You can hit a tree branch and fall over. If a bike falls into water and gets submerged you can fry your electricals and get water inside places it should never be. Once a bike is submerged like? It might never run properly again. I sincerely doubt the electricals have been that damaged. I think it is much more likely there is just moisture inside various areas. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
A lot of comments here are missing the point: that bike owes you nothing - look at the adventures you've had together! Bikes are not people, but we DO get attatched to some of them; that's a good thing. Generally there's nothing on a bike that can't be fixed for less than cost to upgrade. I don't know what the mileage is now, but your Bonnie is RUclips infamous and probably unsaleable working or not! Its value is in its utility and once fixed up it'll give you another year of adventures at least. You are a story-teller Freddie - and this is part of an ongoing story: a 'hero's journey' on 2 wheels. If this is The Resurrection, here's to The Return Home! 👍
The Bonnie has had two problems - one caused by over tightening/cross threading a spark plug and the other (probably) by water damage. It's not as bad as it seems - I hope you get it sorted as it is a far more capable bike than a small capacity single. That's a useful little bike hub down by the Blackwall Tunnel. I have a friend that uses Ray Petty Meccanica next door (careful - there are always seriously beautiful bikes in there) and have had very good service myself from Two Tyres at the other end. Good luck.
I have a 56 plate Triumph speed four sat in my garage your more than welcome to borrow it until yours is sorted. Only one condition if you have any issues with it, you won't go anywhere near it with tools. It's moved till April you'll just need to tax it for six months. You can always chop the tax in early if needed.

Fingers crossed on the Bonnie. Brilliant choice on the buffet/sidetable (??? :) because it is gorgeous, and has history. Now you have another beautiful thing to look after....
You could put self adhesive green baze in that drawer bottom. It would certainly cover up the paint. Good luck with the Bonnie.
Replacing the Regulator Rectifier will most likely sort out your charging system. Turn off the headlight while riding or pop the headlight bulb out as that is probably the worst culprit for draining your battery.
I might add,waterlogged wiring connections
@@rodneyhull9764 bike could definitely benefit from being parked in bright sunshine for a few hours, a bit easier in Australia where I am..
I hope Jason gets it all sorted. New bike or not, there’s nothing like having an older model you love. I have 3 that I would never get rid of
What I like about your videos is they are great entertainment with the bikes and the way you also include the places you visit (the scenery ) . As a Harley rider take a look. They are a bit more expensive but at least you won’t be walking. Keep the videos coming
The Man , the myth, the legend...good to bump into you and Monika today while our vessel is down for weather..what a treat...safe adventures, both...
I was just going to tell you it looked like 1950s Scandinavian furniture - I have a late 60s Scandinavian book case - very sleek and well styled!
Glad to see the side cabinet got loaded with the most important stuff first, hopefully the Bonnie will live again.. best of luck Freddie
I hope you get it all sorted, good to find a really good mechanic, sad to think Triumph don't offer the same service for their own bikes, people would be more loyal if they had the same level of love for their bikes as you do
I love how you love your Bonneville.
13:18 wow that's a cheap concert! 😂 good luck with the Bonneville Freddie!
“Antique furniture” - cheek! That’s my mum’s old sideboard we had to give away not long ago 🤣. Good luck with the Triumph!
Hope the bonnie will be ok....love the furniture freddie its great that someone saw it in its original state and returned it to its beyter state...😊 returned returned
Tri moto brilliant place. Repaired my bonneville when triumph dealership weren’t sure what the problem was couple of years ago
Cheers.Dan ✌️🏍🇨🇦
when in doubt take the head light bulb out and anything else that might drain the bat !!
It misses being in Tenerife in the sun ☀️ not this gray damp
Miserable, British weather
I enjoy your videos, but the music is absolutely next level.
I think Monika is behind the design/music for most of their videos.
That's a great photo over the chest, well done.
Hey Freddie,
I know it's not for the best reasons, but I'm loving this saga of Bonneville-focused videos!
Build a box around the bonni.....then fill it to the brim with rice....(cat litter would also do)..put a lid on it and wrap it in cling flim....then leave it for a week......(Same principle when to drop your phone in loo).🤞..😂🤣.....🤪
I'm sure you would get a few YT views on that.!
I thought so too, doesn't it make you feel old! It suits their minimalist style.
Alternator Regulator Relais!!!🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ That’s the thing to start!
+ Dry and lubricate all the possible contacts to avoid further issues.
Difficulty is the confidence in the bike. When it goes wrong this often you start to lose faith in it especially if you’re planning any long trips.
They are uncomfy
yep that is the place to go,
You say it's changed in your lifetime Freddie.
Well spotted- I love these Hinckley 900s🖤
I think you’re right re the Bonneville
A 2amp charger is a tad big for a motorcycle battery.....4amp is way to heavy.
It doesn't look like a dedicated bike charger.
Disabling the headlamp would help the batter last longer.
Good job making it to the garage....wish we had a place like that up my neck of the wood near Liverpool.
Hope its not to costly Freddie and fully sorted.
A CLASSIC ALL ROUND ,stay with it Freddie .
If bike gets properly fixed, i doubt he will sell it
I still miss my T100. I had a guy near Brands Hatch tune it, and designed my own luggage. Rode it to Lithuania in 2008.
I have tri moto in mind for my 675 Daytona. I've also found another specialist local in Bromley I can use.
Honest mechanics... wow.
My comment aged well 😄
Fingers crossed for you Freddie I hope it's a easy fix m8
Mmm it might be sorted, but I'll bet it won't be cheap, but then again I'm a tight Yorkshire man 😊
Freddie ..... please hand the picture up before it falls over and the glass smashes, plus you will make Monica a very happy person.
Always connect negative last and disconnect negative first Freddie.
I think someone mentioned in your last videos comments, Kawasaki w800, looks nice and should be very reliable.
Very well said Steve 👏
I too loved Get Rich Or Die Tryin back in the day, listened to it back to back this week as a matter of fact! Probably the best debut rap album ever
