I would honestly LOVE to see remasters of the old Greek and Australian regions; your storytelling has me in a chokehold. Mr. Buddy Sir I need you to understand that, even to this day, Antoria's storyline has me in a death grip by my neck
A Hyrule region in a Legends-style space would be very interesting. Lots of opportunity for folklore stuff, the triforce being mega stones, dragons as roaming legendaries etc.
Joining in on the “I subbed for the Pokémon region videos” train and man do I miss those! That and Team Buddy stuff was fun - the evil team by way of Stepford Wives is just…it’s just excellent. What I loved about the videos was that I also felt like I was learning about the real countries and regions, so if you were to ever return to them I’d be thrilled! That said that Zelda one…my reaction was along the lines of “why am I not watching this one now?!”. There’s probably other fictional universes outside of Nintendo that would make good Pokémon regions (One Piece comes to mind but that would be a gargantuan undertaking, Avatar is too focused on four elements, etc.), but Zelda feels like it has just the right amount of unique monsters and locations to make a rich, well-designed region.
The Zelda idea would be interesting but the moment you mentioned Middle Earth it piqued my curiosity. We need regions based of fantasy settings. I remember brainstorming ideas for Narnia and Neverland.
Your What If regions inspired me to work on my own What-ifs!!! Still coming up with my Greek and Australian regions and miiiight give a Nordic region a whirl :)
It's really nice to see this. I'm currently going through a Project making a pokemon region for a future Pen and Paper game (Not sure on a system, dnd or pokerole being contenders) and was looking at your older videos for inspiration and to make small references to them. Back when you were doing all those videos, and when shortly later Lockstain started the Lokemon thing, I got really into it. I'm going back and working on that old prokject for this future thing, and It's gonna be fun.
Your What If videos were what got me interested in fan-made stuff in the first place. I subscribed because of those videos and have been deeply missing them. A few years ago, I started to make my own version of your western US region since it wasn’t very detailed. Now, after a LOT of research and planning, I’m starting to upload it as a book on Wattpad. And I attribute most of the inspiration straight to you, Mr. Buddy. Thanks so much!
It's good to see you back making videos on your channel again Mr. Buddy. Out of all of the what if pokemon regions That you listed in your video, I think and believe that Is expanding more on The greek pokemon region Would be really cool. Another cool option would be a more full-fledged video on Your region based on the western united states Where the evil team is obsessed with Fossil pokemon.
I actually went through all of your old regions and compiled a document of all the new Pokémon you’d created and tried my hand at coding some of them and they turned out quite well! I’d love to see the Iceland region and an update version of the Greek and Australian regions
Very fascinating and it would be nice to see some of them be made when time is available. Iceland might be a good start since you already got some ideas formed anyhow around the vikings.
As much of as it would be cool to have an entire region based on Zelda, why not a whole Region based on Disney? That would have been cool to see. I mean they have a century of content to base Pokemon off from, not to mention Iconic locations and characters could be translated as well as iconic music repurposed into battle music would sound dope (Maybe introduce a sound type?).
Well, there's already another PokéTuber who is making a Pokémon/Zelda mash-up, so maybe not that one. My favorite would be an expanded version of the Greece region.
I liked the idea of an Iceland Based Region along with The Scandinavian region connected it would work like the Connection between Kanto and Johto regions in the first two Generations of Pokemon games.
I gotta mention that Bilsu Art here on RUclips has been making a pokemon / Zelda fusion for quite a while now, and I encourage everyone to go check it out!
Remaster of the old before going into new sound awesome. And on the note of a smaller Australia region, Tasmania would be a great starting location (especially with the new open world Pokemon format) before going into the bigger main continent, but also I always thought it be fun to go back to your starting location to access victory road and the E4 with your PC mom being the secret champion.
Dude! What if Hyrule was a Pokemon region would have been amazing! There is so much Zelda lore, characters, enemies, locations, and story beats that could adapted seamlessly and beautifully into a pokemon game! Like take Tingle for example. The guy appears in multiple games and even stars in his own solo adventures that it's stunning how many avenues you could adapt his character. You could make Windwaker Tingle an antagonist, or you could use the Tingle from Freshly Plucked Tingle's Rosy Rupee Land/ Balloon Trip of Love as a major character (Like an elite 4 member); and hell that's just one guy in a sea of thousands of weird, interesting, or cool characters. Please turn Hyrule into a pokemon region I beg of you.
Is there a chance any of these would be a place with alot of dark skinned POC and not just Scandinavia or Greece? I don't mind the white prominent nations with the bad guys being people in armor but that seems to be alot of your region ideas, and I think going for Africa, Mexico, Brazil, Jamaica etc would be far more interesting and compelling! Love to see those!
I actually wouldn't mind seeing more What if Pokemon regions. I wouldn't mind seeing what you could do with a region based on the Low Countries (Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg), especially since a lot of the popular regions have already been overdone at this point (India, China, Italy, South America, Canada, US states). Mexico, Iceland and Egypte got already covered extensively as well by other youtubers.
I’d love to see you potentially collaborate with Bilsu Art if you ever wanted to revisit a LoZ inspired region, they do awesome work with their project fusing the two properties together.
What Ifs I want people to do, but no one ever did: (Most were mentioned in the games or anime at least once) India, regularly mentioned in the games China, regularly mentioned in the games Russia, mentioned by Silph Co. Guyana, where Mew was found (Better as DLC) Antarctica, mentioned by Jessie in AG 132 (Better as DLC) Thailand, a good DLC for the India or China region Myanmar, a good DLC for the India or China region
I'm currently working on my own Pokemon region concept. However it's in the form of a graphic novel and I'm crossing over that franchise with Final Fantasy. Although it's more in line with Pokemon Colosseum and XD in which it's a whole new region, but it's with Pokemon fans are familiar with. I also have a separate campaign in the pipeline that crosses Pokemon over with Kingdom Hearts. (Yes, I am dead serious about that one!)
i'm personally working on a Netherlands Pokémon region (as I am Dutch myself) we have a rich history, a ton of inventions, a lot of tasty food, ect. (our wildlife is not that special though) also for those who say Netherlands is too small to be a region I say this, it has more landmass than Hawaii and that got a region
Yes this. I mean... Netherlands would be big enough on its own, but Belgium and Luxembourg by extension are too small. You can even do a DLC region with the carribbean. You can do interesting lore with it as well. Give us a Submarine Pokemon (As we were the ones who invented it) Give us a Pokemon based on the concept of White and Red Blood cells (As we were the first to discover them). Legendary/Mythical based on the Flying Dutchman myth Have a Jester Pokemon based on Pardoes (Heck, Volbeat and Illumise already have the color scheme Pardoes and Pardijn have, so them getting Bug/Fairy evolutions aren't that farfetch'd either). Pure Fire type Pokemon that uses a Fire Hose as a weapon (As we invented it) Regional Ludicolo line, replacing the Lilypad with a cheese (As a reference to us Dutchies being called Cheeseheads). Not to speak about Netherlands probably becoming a region in the future anyways (Due to in-game references, but also the Van Gogh collab and a Pikachu in traditional Dutch attire in the Pikachu Around the World set, which also covers Japanese, UK and USA Pikachu).
I would love to see you do a video on making The Legend of Zelda series a Pokémon region. Those games are my favorite video game series, so it will be amazing to see someone else make a region based on that. However, a content creator by the name of Bilsu Art is already making a region based on the Zelda series, but I bet you can still make some unique ideas for it to make it different from his.
I like idea of taking real world places and seeing what could be used to inspire a region in a Pokémon game. I don't like seeing character designs based on those inspirations; I fear they may contaminate expectations or the creative process of Game Freak.
Okay, two things I want to say: 1) About the Scandinavian Region idea: can't you just turn that idea into an original, but also, a sequel Buddymon game instead? 😕 And 2) About the Legend of Zelda/Pokémon idea: I think a certain PokéTuber named "Bilsu Art" is already doing a crossover like that? 🤔
I think Link’s starter representing Courage would be a Wolf~like Pokémon. With maybe the Four elemental dragons (light, wind, water and fire) or the three Great Fairies being the lesser legendaries. Regardless the main legendaries could also be based on the tri force. Repurposing the light dragon for wisdom, a dark dragon for Power, maybe a nature dragon for courage? Or have the Light Dragon, Boar, and Wolf be the main legendaries
I had an idea for the East Coast more specifically Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. All three turn into one Region similar to Unova with Jersey and New York
How about a region based on the whole state of Texas? There may be a bunch of new Pokémon along with regional variants of familiar ones, like Duskull, representing every aspect of Texas, like Fiesta, Dia de los Muertos, the cowboys, and the Native Americans. In other words, there's NOT JUST ONE but a bunch of variants of Duskull.
Neat video It was cool to learn about your ideas for the "what if _ was a pokemon region" videos (Who's knows?maybe in the future you could come back to this series if you interesting)
Midwest United States would be an interesting region idea. Could have Chicago be where it's Pokemon League be held, and have Cleveland, Detroit, Minneapolis/St. Paul, St. Louis, Kansas City, Milwaukee, Cincinnati, and Lincoln be where Gyms are throughout the region. *Nothing more than suggestion of course. Any of those cities can be switched out.*
I feel like Russia wouldn't sit well right now, with everything that has been going on India and China are way to overdone as Fakemon regions as is, so they wouldn't feel unique enough imo.
I would honestly LOVE to see remasters of the old Greek and Australian regions; your storytelling has me in a chokehold. Mr. Buddy Sir I need you to understand that, even to this day, Antoria's storyline has me in a death grip by my neck
A steampunk and cyberpunk Pokemon region, sounds cool
A Hyrule region in a Legends-style space would be very interesting. Lots of opportunity for folklore stuff, the triforce being mega stones, dragons as roaming legendaries etc.
bilsuart is making LoZ themed creature collector stuff.
Joining in on the “I subbed for the Pokémon region videos” train and man do I miss those! That and Team Buddy stuff was fun - the evil team by way of Stepford Wives is just…it’s just excellent.

These were why I subscribed. I haven't watched in a while because these were on hold. Greece is my favorite. Scandinavia is a *CLOSE* second.
Sad that these ideas never came into fruition, but they are awesome! Keep up the excellent work!
A What If Hyrule ?! That would have been a banger. I would love to see more of your Buddyverse the linking between regions would have been fun.
The Zelda idea would be interesting but the moment you mentioned Middle Earth it piqued my curiosity.
We need regions based of fantasy settings. I remember brainstorming ideas for Narnia and Neverland.
I Want to see Mexico as a Pokemon Region!!
Subjectively has a whole series about just that, and it’s even getting a fan game that has a demo out.
Honestly, I'd love to see all of your regions as expansions to your game.
Your What If regions inspired me to work on my own What-ifs!!! Still coming up with my Greek and Australian regions and miiiight give a Nordic region a whirl :)

I would love to see more Pokémon character studies from you. They were truly a joy to watch!
Where's The Egyptian Region? It also deserves an special mention as well... i'm still waiting for it ever since it was first teased sometime ago..

"What if Kingdom Hearts?"
Why would we need to introduce a Sound type, its already in the game as the Normal type.
@@nickdentoom1173 idk it felt appropriate, it was a little guess
