What a cool video, I’ve never seen the steam cleaner on a boot and using the old insole to measure and shape a new one using a micrometer. What a beautiful result, what a craftsman🤘🏼😎
Beautiful restoration. I’m on day 3 of my new Rangers, and now I already want them rebuilt! 😆 I’ll give them until next fall at least, but then they may go in the shop for antique brass hardware (black harness leather), a thick midsole, and Vibram 100.
Now it looks like a man’s boot, and not a clown shoe! I wish Redwing would produce these with the Vibram soles from the factory like this. Great job looks great.
I lived the way they turned out! Well done . I’m in need to a resole on my Iron rangers and I’d love the same exact treatment . Can ship them to you ? .
I very much enjoyed this video of the Red Wing Iron Ranger restoration. if I may say that a discussion by you indicating what you were doing and why would have been most helpful. it is apparent to me that you have many years working on Footwear. I always enjoy a Craftsman. one more thing. what is your overall impression of the quality of these particular Red Wing boots? is there any other brand that you feel are better made? looking forward to more of your videos. Jim
A new welt is a option. As long it’s good it’s not a problem. We have the exact same machine as Res Wing use, Pedersen Jupiter, same stitch/distance/thread.
I really like seeing this craft practiced, and an excellent pair of boots fixed up up and given more life by a pair of skilled hands... your camera person needs to invest some time learning how the camera works. It's a disservice to have half of the shots out of focus.
Good question. The gleu is so good there not a real need for it. Offcourse it always better, but then you come in economics. As far as I know there was only one brand that stitched the “plirib” is a Dutch brand: Greve Shoes.
I watch Bedo, T&H, Dan the cobbler, cobbler G, Dimar. It’s amazing how you all have such different techniques.

Thank you 🙏🏻
A work of pure craftsmanship 👏🏼
This is awesome work, love the detail that you put in to this, the boots came out super nice.
Nice job, loved the thick leather insoles.

Great Video. I Love how you replaced the leather footbed. Came out Great!
Beautiful work.

A true craftsman - excellent video!
Beautiful work. Awesome and relaxing (for me) to see the craft in action

Mad skills! Love it can’t wait to see more!

Why don’t you try to change the welt?
You are in the Netherlands, I live in Utrecht, Great Job
Like a brand new iron ranger ❤
Real nice work
Truly amazing handcrafting. #1.
Outstanding result!
Well done! Impressive!!! Thank you
Fantastisch werk! Ik ben in Antwerpen. Mijn Iron Rangers gaan naar u wanneer het tijd is voor een resole.

We serve 🌎 wide, for info give us a email on : redwingshoes@wijsmanschoenherstellers.nl
That camera really needs to work on its focus
Yes, this is a first trial with our new camera. Lots off things to learn 👍🏻😉
Imprecionante saludos Desde San Miguel El Salvador.
Trabajo perfecto, felicitaciones desde España 🇪🇸
Superb
Interesting how you keep the original welt.

And gemming too! I don't think I've seen just a foodbed replaced like that. Nice work.
Why didn't you replace the welts?
How do I send you my iron rangers for rebuild
Fantastic outcome ... turn off auto-focus for better video.
I'm amazed Red Wing Iron Rangers are even found in Holland.
I wonder if they ever come across Wesco's, Nick's, White's etc. Probably very, very rare in Holland.
Here in ireland now but 3 shop's in whole country limited models.but its a good start
It is. Now you guys all need to discover Whites, Nicks and Wesco! @@cormac1000
Excellent craftsmanship. But either the camera person doesn't know how to film or the camera is no good. Lots of the video shots are out of focus.
Thanks, it was the first test with our new camera. We gonna use another setting for the next video. 👍🏻
@@wijsmancobblers1145 great effort, I have a Nikon D5300, close up filming is only possible with a fixed focus. Autofocus is a disaster 🤣
Seems like red wings removes cork year by year. That looks like it was on a budget before restoration
No, its stil the same. Depends on the customer and what happend during the boots lifespan. Moisture, to hot. Etc etc
Are there non metal shank alternatives as well?
Wow, Great Job! But, Please Clean Your Calipers!! 🤣
Craftmanship (l)
well done
Nice!!
Is that contact cement?

The Autofocus is Hard to watch
Ja? Ja! Haha, leuk.
Завораживает
Just a question. Why did you change the insole? Was it a request from the customer?
Yes, customers request. It was hard, out off shape and brittle due to years off moisture and use.
@@wijsmancobblers1145 very nice job. 👍
nice, but it would be better with a better camera
Just a question, why is the new insole only glued and not stiched to a gamming?
Good question. The gleu is so good there not a real need for it. Offcourse it always better, but then you come in economics. As far as I know there was only one brand that stitched the “plirib” is a Dutch brand: Greve Shoes.
Good job Ger! Only the duct tape…. 🤣
@@Freedom89984 deze extra sterke tape doet wonderen. Denk zelfs sterker dan de gewone geweven tape 😉
The iron rough neck
Hell ya! Super bad ass.
goed zooooooo
great skills, the camerawoman needs some more practice though :)
Que me perdone el tío, pero ese cuero de los lados del fondo estaban podridos. En poco tiempo o se quiebra el filtra agua.
hot glue and no gamming seems sketch
ASMR
WTF
Buy a new camera please, lose focus sometimes
