- These Redwing iron rangers had really been messed up during a previous repair, a real shoe repair nightmare! Luckily they are here in the cobbler shop for a full restoration and we are going to rescue them. Redwing boots are always fashionable mens boots but we made them even more special with an upgrade to the sole with quality italian leather, and hard wearing dainite rubber outsoles and custom yellow stitiching. #explorepage #shoerepair #shoerestoration #nightmare

cracking Job Dan and good for you not slating the repairer who repaired the shoes in the first place its just as you said you never know if he has been shown that way and may be lacking the right machine, good for you sir. I'm a saddler here in Queensland Australia and you do great work. Cutting out the edge of the sole to stitch what a great tip. 👍 No wear and tear for a good long time.

Ive never owned a good quality pair of shoes or boots and i've never realised how much is involved in taking care of them. As a Carpenter Joiner, I always find various craftsmen/women skills fascinating and my jaw still drops when I realise the time, passion and dedication behind the scenes that we never witness. Hi Dan. Firstly welcome back, seems an age since your last video. Secondly lil disappointed, I’ve emailed twice about my Russel and Bromley suede loafers, where I’d like a custom sole and heal, but I’ve had no reply at all. This was last year that I emailed. I understand you’re busy, and I didn’t want to just send them in. Maybe they’re not branded enough for you to work on. It’s a shame though, as a reply either way would have been nice. I’ve had them repaired in the meantime.

Amazing work. When glueing the cork or soles on the shoes, do you ever accidentally get glue on the uppers? If so, how do you clean that off the smooth leather? Thanks for sharing.

My iron rangers need their 3rd re sole. Love the look of the logger low profile. Last re sole was vibram half lug and it wore down fast.
