My biggest complaint about Iron Rangers is the thin soles. Ouch. With a substantial resole like you did here, that is now a very fine boot. Looks great and should last a long time too.
@shakebake2680 The midsole adds to the separation of the foot from the ground. The thinner everything is from your foot to the ground, you will feel it. Also, those soles will make the feet feel nice.
Very nicely done! That's a tough looking sole, which I'm sure will serve your customer very well. I didn't know Vibram made a gum-rubber colored sole. They certainly have something for everyone. Great job, Aaron!
Amazing work, I especially like the fact that you cleaned before the rebuild and oiled after you were done, you don't see a lot of thies other places doing that, they might but you'd never know it. Thank you for taking the time to make the video
I think they look cool doctored up. Both the Ir and Mocs are like a blank canvas. Granted you can order a pair of nicks with your own personal touches for the cost of an Red Wing plus all the cobbler labor
Que guapas han quedado, es como una segunda vida, cero que han quedado mejor que nuevas, las arrugas del uso con la suela nueva adquieren un caracter muy bonito, saludo y gran trabajo.
hey man, I live overseas but if i sent my Red Wings would you do a resole service for me ? i am gladly paying all the expense from sent and receiving plus the cost of replacing the sole itself. I watch so many of your videos and knowing a good cobbler with proper tools resole my boots. Are there any specific website or email so i can discuss with you more about ?
Wow I cannot believe I found this video as these are the soles I’ve been trying to imagine on my roughout iron rangers! I want to uses my rangers as actual work boots, but the factory soles are just pissy & more for the average day man or office worker.
Got the same question ... what the use or function of that ? Can imagine that it connect better the outer-sole onto the mid-sole ... but is gluing not enough ? Certainly if you're adding screws. In fact have the same question with adding the screws ??? or is this just for esthetical reasons ?
Saludos!
Red wing wraps the shank with cloth to prevent squeaking. The piece of leather is a cover. So you don't stand on the nails. The redwing one was probably wore out.
I was being sarcastic, I actually hate the vibram 100 JMHO They are hard to sand and take longer than the rest of the Vibram soles Thank you for watching 🙏
New to shoes so sorry if my comment is rather off, but why not keep the previous rand? Did not look that bad according to me? But great job and nice video! (:

Mine, too. When I resole mine, I want a leather midsole added, and I really like the gum colored sole he used on this pair!
Is that the honey lug vibram sole?
YEP!!!
How much more comfortable is it with an added midsole?
@shakebake2680 The midsole adds to the separation of the foot from the ground. The thinner everything is from your foot to the ground, you will feel it. Also, those soles will make the feet feel nice.
Those boots are 100% better than they were when they came out of the factory. You are a master of your craft.
🙏
You transform those boots into a pair of great hikers/traveling boots. Beautiful work, as always
Agreed.
Thank you very much!
Best outcome Ive seen yet from an Iron Ranger re-sole. Bravo👏👏👏. Magnificent work
🙏
Love that bit of a cowboy boot heel rake. Adds a little flow and balance to the back of the boot. Nice work
Love the heel work on this pair. They're a real pair of stompers now.
I'd buy a pair of Iron Rangers if they had that sole.
My favorite sole...yeah right. Ha! Another great job!
I really appreciate how you wrap the shanks before putting them back in the shoe. A lot of cobblers just leave them bare when they put them back.
I’m saving this video for when it’s time to resole mine. You’re a true craftsman, beautiful work and great video.
Thank you good Sir!

I kinda like the gum soles! Maybe I'll go with that when my 8085s need a resole!
That is a great looking combination!!!
Gorgeous! Ready for Rocky Mountain highs!

For the price of iron rangers, you'd think they'd at least put a 4 mill leather midsole.
I think they look cool doctored up. Both the Ir and Mocs are like a blank canvas. Granted you can order a pair of nicks with your own personal touches for the cost of an Red Wing plus all the cobbler labor
Again! A pair of IR’s I’d almost buy.
They make em’ for same price with this or equivalent sole and I’d have a hard time saying NO!
Nice work my man.
Another job well done! 👍
A great look as always.
Outstanding work!
This is a great look!!!

Those came out nice
I want the same treatment on my iron rangers. Where do I send them. Those look great
Damn fine workmanship
🙇
Amazing work. I have some Thorogoods than need work. Maybe I could send them your way.
I've seen you take these apart so many times that I think I can do it (even with my limited tools) and save you a bit of time for a resole 😆
😅 taking anything apart is always easy 🖐🏻

Very nice work. What does a job like that cost?
Oh wow, I live in Norwalk, you're close by.
Lug soles make every boot better.
Ready to hike.
Does Vibram offer a cristy sole in that color? Gum sole color and stickiness are my fav. Boot looks amazing.
No they don’t make anything like that.
Thanks
Good work!! Could I send a pair or two out soemtime to have them done? Thank you!! Let me know please

How much does a resole like this cost? I have a pair of Iron Rangers that id love to have this done
Im wondering the same thing myself!?
Resole is usually about $80

VERY NICE! These soles are a little softer than the blacks so they're a little easier to work with eh!!!??? 👍👍👍👍
Slightly softer!
@@AaronG2480Yes indeed which may make them better than the blacks because they have a little more give to them!!!???
Ok I’m sold I have a pair I would like redone where are you located?
Hi, big fan of your work.
When you stitch the soles on , won’t the thread wear out fast as it’s directly in touch with the ground
Got the same question ... what the use or function of that ? Can imagine that it connect better the outer-sole onto the mid-sole ... but is gluing not enough ? Certainly if you're adding screws. In fact have the same question with adding the screws ??? or is this just for esthetical reasons ?
How much for that exact resole compañero? Yo quiero eso para mis botas.
Quedaron geniales, que usas para lavar las botas, alguna opción casera?
No se le ocurra usar otra cosa que no sea saddle soap/jabon de calabaza

What did you wrap around the shank? And what was the piece of leather you added inside the boot?
Red wing wraps the shank with cloth to prevent squeaking. The piece of leather is a cover. So you don't stand on the nails. The redwing one was probably wore out.
What kind of soap is that?
How much would this kind of job cost?
Why the screws?
D qu medida son los tornillos qu usas para las suelas
my favorite as well
i want to get my grant stone resoled with these
Better now in every way. Why can’t RW make a boot already like this.
How much for this resole?
Why is it your favorite sole? That one is quite good as it has some cushion which the original lacked. Also good traction

🤤🎉🎉🎉🤤
Sir, what does vibram call that sole I actually do really like it
It is the vibram 100 Montagna
It didn’t look to me that the soles or cork needed replacing. Nice work nevertheless!
New to shoes so sorry if my comment is rather off, but why not keep the previous rand? Did not look that bad according to me? But great job and nice video! (:
The customer wanted to change the color of the welt and the rand.
That is a Sic resoled job
what product do you use to wash/clean the boots?
Saddle Soap. Friebrings white can is what most people use.
