Beautiful! It's too soon to resole my IRs but I would prefer a softer outsole. Whittier is close enough to make the drive, you might just get a visit from this gringo in the 805.
Fine job, as always. My experience with the 1757 Middlebury/Gumlite soles wasn't very good, but mainly because of the work I was doing at the time. The Gumlite is very comfortable and the grip was remarkable, even on a 10/12 pitch roof. But those benefits come at a tradeoff with longevity. They may be suitable for a shop environment where one is on a concrete all day, but walking through rough terrain and asphalt quickly wore them down, so I went back to the 132 unit soles.
Thats a nice looking combo, I love my IRs but they are definitely not the most comfortable, a full leather midsole and that vibram outsole is exactly what I plan on having done when my boots are in need of a rebuild.
Excelente trabajo amigo muchas felicidades te sigo por que soy un amante a la zapatería pero de buena construcción y tus reparaciones son de excelente calidad . Salidos desde Morelia Michoacán Mexico.
I wish I could send you some of my boots to repair but the shipping alone would be almost the same cost as repair. I also prefer the older model of Iron Rangers with the flat bottoms.
Hey man, nice job, i have a leather shoe that i didnt wear them for few years, today i cleaned the shoe but its so hard ,its not soft anymore, how can i make them soft again?
Why a heel rand instead of a 360˚ welt? Lots of shoe makers convert other brands of shoes, (like Alden Indy) from 270˚ to 360˚, but I've never seen a 360˚ conversion on an Iron Ranger. Why?
@@AaronG2480 I think we have misunderstanding here and I apologize for the confusion. Of course shoe makes don't do it for free and I would never expect it to be free! My question is why have I never seen an Iron Ranger converted from a 270˚ welt to a 360˚ welt? I've done a lot of searching, but have never found such a conversion. Kind Regards
@EdAb 😅it’s all good I was just kidding. I’m pretty sure Wyatt and Dad have at least one video of that conversion , have you checked? I have converted a pair of blacksmith, I didn’t make a video but here’s the instagram link of that. instagram.com/p/C3EOuuzvC6r/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== Cheers!
@@AaronG2480 Thanks for the Wyatt and Dad tip. I had searched "Iron Ranger 360" before, but nothing came up. After your suggestion I skimmed through a couple of videos and found one with a 360˚ welt conversion, but they didn't really show what the welt looked like. ruclips.net/video/JCdPFqqnpMw/видео.html I guess I'll have to keep skimming for more. Your Blacksmith boot conversion looks amazing, thanks for sharing!
Excellent combination for an awesome looking resole!!!!!!!!!
Those mini-lugs on the more current IR's are so hard under foot. Would love to do this to my charcoal r & t's in the future.
They are the most uncomfortable boots I own. Putting Dr Shoal inserts helps but they still suck.
I think they made the sole harder for soft surface work. I work on dirt and mud all day and they are the most comfortable shoes I've bought so far.
@@CCrazyA Could see that.

Another outstanding rebuild!!!
I've watched a lot of boot resole videos and you are one of the best out there.
Love this, I was looking at this exact sole for my nearly new IR.

Correct, it really depends on what you need the boots
Thanks
I really enjoy watching you repair moc toes and iron rangers
I appreciate your support!

Wow really nice I’ll send mine too you when I need it.

~3:06 ? what's that shoe there like an ostrich chukka?
Correct, those were very famous back in the 2000s
hi.. friends, I hope you are healthy and there is much more knowledge that can be shared about leather shoes..
How do the nails on the heel rand not go through the leather insole/footbed?
They do go through and then are bent over by foot support/ holder (not sure of the correct term). This cinches it all together.
Nice job!
The Professional - Pro.!!!
🙏 Just r trying my best
When the time comes, I would like to send you a pair of boots to repair
Hell yeah dawg I’m gonna get in touch with you soon
Fantastico!
Nice work
How can i get pricing ????

Why?
Simply because the costumer didn’t ask or paid for it.
Those cobblers you mentioned don’t do it for free

Why did you have to put nails at the bottom of soles? Won't it pierce through the foot after long use and worn?
Look like a pair of Truman Boots now…..lol
😅
How long do the boots stay in the hydraulic press for the soles?
A few seconds only.
