    I love ginger, too. A family we know who used to own a Chinese restaurant made their own specialty ice cream---ginger! It had small cubes of ginger in it. Oh my goodness, I thought I had died and gone to heaven!😂 It was hot and cold at the same time. Wow!

      when I was a little girl, (old lady now) our family went to a Chinese cafe' and had ginger ice cream after dinner too! It must be an old fashioned Chinese favorite, something I have never seen since. Had forgotten this.

    Love this. I add dried tangerine or orange rind, lemon juice and occasionally some spearmint. I mix this up in gallon growlers and keep in fridge year round. In winter, this is my go to tea-every evening drink- in order to decompress, sleep and ward off colds

    Yum, Ginger. I might give this a go, I normally have ACV with the Mother, Fresh Lemon juice, Salt, Turmeric, in 8oz water. I use a straw, as I was told ACV rots your tooth enamel. Some add Cream of tartar too, but I can't remember why. Lol.
    TFS HC, take care, & Happy Easter everyone. 🐰❤️🙂🐶

      Someone else on RUclips (maybe Patara at Appalachia's Homestead?) just made this using powdered ginger. The hostess made a quart jar & used about 2 Tbs of ginger. Like most recipes, the ginger can be added to suit your taste... some folks would add more, others would use half the amount. I'd be in the Add More group! Blessings from NW Florida

    Ginger has amazing health benefits. I've been using it as anti nausea, anti infection, anti inflammatory, etc for 40 plus years. Did you know it anti cancer too? It cause apoptosis (cell death on cancer and tumor cells.
    But I must ask where is the potassium, sodium, and the magnesium (you know the electrolytes that are supposed to be in this switchel.

    Hello, how is this an electrolyte drink with no healthy salt in it? Potassium and magnesium needs to be replaced. Is it in the vinegar? Thanks. 👍

    • @utopicconfections5257
      @utopicconfections5257 4 месяца назад +2

      I think it's the vinegar. The vinegar makes it a probiotic drink. Back in the day, Laura Engels Wilder and her family used it to stay hydrated and healthy. If I've read correctly, it used to be very popular in the southern states as a substitute for lemonade.

      You can let it ferment for 24-48 hours or so, filter it out, and it will keep for a couple of weeks.

      There are over 1300 different species of ginger root plants. Its strong aroma and taste are due to ketones called gingerols, a primary component of the root. It is high in vitamin C, vitamin B6, micronutrients like magnesium, potassium, copper, manganese, fiber, and water. Hope this help.

      @@Famcke Yes it does! Thank you so very much! I have been trying to find some kind of electrolyte drink but they are either really expensive or full of sugar. I take magnesium ,salt and potassium because if I don't I get severe leg and back cramps my legs will even bruise and sometime they are so bad I just scream in pain. Most times I can walk it off. But I have to take supplements. I have had this problem my entire life. Doctors just tell me to take magnesium potassium and make sure I get enough salt. I haven't had a chance to go in when I have had a bad one and show them my bruised leg. I told my husband next time I am going to just hobble into the office and show the nurse.
