Ben Affleck's Batman is the version that would literally scare off criminals from committing crimes. He's "the" Batman from the animated series in my opinion.

I loved Ben Affleck as Batman, but I did not like Snyder's Batman. It works visually, but not conceptually. If Batman straight up kills without remorse, then what's really left of the character? What inspires the most about him is his restraint and the lengths he's willing to go to help/save someone even if said someone is literally trying to kill him or others. He knows what breaks a person and knows every psychotic villain he faces has also faced despair and lost. Most of the main cast of his rougues gallery represents psychological aspects of Batman himself, which is genuis in terms of writting and character developement because he sees himself in most, if not all of them, and understands them. His methods aren't always top tier, but the fact he keeps himself from crossing that abyss of murderous rampage is what makes him one of the best and most inspiring characters ever concieved. That being said, sometimes you really have to put a rabid dog down and his unwillingness to do so leads to him failing those he tries to protect and his loved ones (Jason Todd for example). Instead of making Batman a killer, they should've explored the conflict between his rule of no killing versus the other members of the JL who are willing to kill like Wonder Woman and Aquaman.
The part where Batgirl comes in to help Batman defeat Deathstroke seems kind of random to me. So, if this was made (which it won’t be, obviously), I would have hoped they would write a better conclusion than that. Very cool video though! Thank you for the great content. 🙂

GOD IM SO GLAD WE GOT WHAT WE DID and Robert is a fantastic Batman!! But I still would love to see a stand-alone Batfleck film…
Matt Reeves’ The Batman was a good film. No doubt. But, it was too soon and just not necessary. I, and I think many others, really wanted to see Affleck’s Batman written and directed by Affleck himself. I think we lost something really special when Ben decided he wasn’t doing this film. Maybe, if everything lines up with the new leadership at WB and Ben being in a better space mentally, he’ll change his mind and decide to make his version of The Batman.
I mean Batman being character broked by a nihilist cuckold who planned to sacrifice him anyway wasn’t the best plans grateful god will punish bad writers amen
Another great and very well researched video from the channel! It's disappointing that Ben Affleck's Batman never came to furniture. Seeing an older and more experienced Batman would've been refreshing for sure, so is the arc the film would've taken in him on, and with the addition of Deathstroke a villain we hadn't seen on the big screen before would've been exciting, especially in the way he was portrait here as systematically destroying Bruce's life, I could easily see this as being an iconic and very intimidating performance based on the whispers alone. I also love the inclusion of Batgirl because again, it's a character we haven't seen before. It will always be shame we will never get to experience this, as I believe it would've brought something new to the Batman franchise with the Arkahm/comic book inspirations, the villain, Bruce's arc, etc.
A big problem with his script is that he doesn't leave much room for continuity. Deathstroke would likely have to die as he knows too much, and other Batman support characters would also have to die.
@@Dissenter Agreed. But like a lot of things with this movie, it's all early concepts and script drafts so we don't really know how the end product would've looked like.
@@WarpingFist Agreed. Both scripts are interested in delving into Batman's psyche and I would've been intrigued to see how Affleck would've crafted a story that had his Batman go through trials and tribulations where he comes out of it a more hopeful, faithful Batman who abides by the no kill rule again.
Reeves isn’t a “bigger fan” of Batman. Why would there be no dichotomy between Batman and Bruce Wayne? It’s ridiculous and it completely misses the whole point of the alter ego aspect of the character.
Fun fact: Joel Schumacher (director of Batman Forever and Batman&Robin) was a huge fan of Frank Miller and Joel’s favorite Batman story was “Batman: Year One”. He said he always wanted to do a live action year one film and (from what I heard) wanted Ben Affleck in the title role 😢oh what we could’ve gotten
While Keaton will always be the best Batman IMO, I also think there is plenty of room for multiple iterations of Batman. So it would not bother at all to see his Batman live side by side in his own movie with the Patterson films. I enjoy the different stories and timelines. This could have been very cool. I am also saddened that a bunch of the Keaton scenes for multiple upcoming films have been scrapped. Most any new Batman content is usually a good thing. So maybe, just maybe we will get a Batfleck film… 🤷♂️
I'm the most curious about the introduction of Batgirl. Given the DCEU timeline, it shouldn't have been Barbara Gordon. At this point she should already be in a wheelchair and going by Oracle. Cassandra Cain's Batgirl would have fit into that fight perfectly though.
We need the grounded Batman played by Pattinson, then we need a Batman to fight clayface, salmon grundy, killer croc the more comic book villians and Ben Aflecks Batman was perfect for that

Honestly, Affleck's Batman idea just sounds like the Knightfall storyline only with Bane replaced by Deathstroke which, for anybody aware of how much The Dark Knight Rises utilized similar elements from that story (particularly the revenge conspiracy over something fleetingly personal) is disappointingly tedious. The Dark Knight Rises was only about four or five years old prior to Affleck being slated to direct this Batman film, and I think had it gone through and he managed to direct it, it would have been dead on arrival for partly those reasons as well as Affleck's obvious sense of torment in and out of the project. Warner should be grateful the Reeves/Pattinson variation turned out as well as it had, things could have gone much, much worse.
I don't understand all the hate for Ben Affleck. He played Daredevil and Batman now which is pretty cool. I for one thought he was on of the best Batman actors because his body type was perfect. He really resembled the 90's Batman TAS character.

For some reason, projects that never happen tend to be called greatest or worst. No one can know unless it actually happens. The production part is the hardest and most challenging part of a film. Also, I doubt it would be at least for me. Deathstroke as a main villain? JL characters in it? Batgirl? Sounds like a lot of things going on and more focused on other characters than Batman himself.
Agreed. While a lot in the movie sounded amazing to me, it also could've been too unfocused as a Batman story. One of the things I loved about The Batman is even with its lengthy runtime, it used it all to tell POV character-study that never shifts focus from Batman the whole time. I won't judge the movie based on plot details, but I would've wanted to see that for Affleck's version.
@@themadtitan7603 I've actually made my own pitch for what Ben Affleck's Batman movie could of been. It seemed to me Batfleck had issues in his past with his family especially with the death of Dick Grayson, apparently a divorce with Selina Kyle, the loss of his parents, and maybe having ties cut to Barbara after Dick died. So I wanted to adapt Son Of Batman lightly where Damian comes into Bruce's life and this becomes his second shot at fatherhood but gets mixed up when Deathstroke and Joker team up. It could be revealed that Grant Wilson, Slade's son, died when Bruce fought him because the Mira Kuru Grant would take was very unstable and Bruce pushed Grant to his limits and that caused him to die. So the story itself is about Bruce becoming a father again and reconnecting with those he's lost contact with like Selina, Babs, Lucius, and anyone else and having to accept the sins of his past which there's alot of. While also being a way to introduce Damian/Robin into the DCEU. And you could still have the third act take place in Arkham showing off many of his supervillains like Riddler, Two-Face, Bane, Clayface, Penguin, Black Mask, Hush, Poison Ivy, Firefly, and many more.
@@domgeek5632 This sounds like an amazing pitch imo and would definitely have Batfleck's emotional arc right at the centre of the plot, any story that's focused on Batman's relationship and role in the Batfamily and how a struggle within it forces him to change and grow instantly peaks my interests. I like the theme of Bruce becoming a father again after the death of his son and being involved in the death of a rival's son who's now trying to dismantle his life because of it. Him doing so through by first having to reconnect with his allies is also a good way to feature a lot of the Batfamily in fairly prominent roles. I don't remember any indication that Selina was married to Bruce at some point in BvS but it'd be again, a good way to feature an ally and have it make sense with the central throughline of the story and it's a good background for the DCEU's Catwoman who we don't about. I imagine Alfred here shows Bruce there's people that are still there for him and a father he could look up to as inspiration for himself, Gordon shows him that there's still good people left and Barbara is a child figure to Bruce in her own right which could show that he can be a good parental figure and role model to encourage him to face his demons and take up Damien by the end of the film.
I'd rather have the Deathstroke movie than the one we got. Not saying it was bad just nothing new to Batman in the movies and Deathstroke would be a formidable foe for the big screen.
Seeing Ben in the clips saddens me. U can definitely tell based off his body language that he is so exhausted and uncomfortable with so much of the heat out on him. His wording is so fast and unbalanced his facial expression looks like he hasn’t gotten much rest, it makes me sick how much pressure a fanbase can put on a person out of so much compassion 4 a beloved character. I didn't know the Ben Affleck was dealing with alcoholism, and the divorce from Jennifer Garner while developing the script for The Batman right after he finished Live By Night. Even though he chose not to direct it, having worked on the script, and wanting the final fight with Deathstroke to be like in Arkham Origins Trailer, is really cool. It's unfortunate that working on it had become such a burden, that he abandoned the entire movie. Still, it would have been great to watch a Batman movie with Ben Affleck and Joe Magenello as Deathstroke. That would have been so awesome. I certainly have a lot more respect for him now.

I'd be very interested to see what Affleck could've done. Matt Reeves' The Batman was pretty good, but it falls apart in some places. His Batman doesn't so much figure out clues as much as he blurts out answers to riddles, and in some cases others just tell him what to do because he can't figure it out on his own. The ending was kind of forced, where Nigma had all been about justice and exposing the corruption of the city for the entire movie...until the ending where he wants to drown half the town for no good reason (kick the cat). I just loved Snyder's Batfleck! And I absolutely detest Whedon's Batfake. I will never forget Batman looking at Superman with a huge smile on his face.ike he was seriously fanboying HARD!
Batman wasn't a murderer or murderous in BVS, those characteristics imply that he intentionally went on a killing spree for his satisfaction. He defended himself against mercenaries and criminals who shot at him and branded sex offenders who enslaved young girls. Those offenders deserved nothing more than death, but he didn't send a message to kill those offenders with his brand, but to let the prison and the prisoners know what kind of offender the police were imprisoning. He gave a judgment but didn't force those inmates to do anything. The prisoners chose for themselves because, as it is in real life, even criminals have a code: Women and Children are off limits. Batman understood that because, as he told Alfred, he saw himself as a criminal until Superman gave him what he lost, Hope. As for Matt Reeves’ The Batman, the detective story he made was lacking in substance. It was interesting, but the main character could've been taken off the film, and the story would've ended the same, at least until the third act made him part of the action. The emotional resonance wasn't there. The subplot of his parents being involved with the criminal underworld was underdeveloped, the emotional hook wasn't there. Reeves’ choosing to do away with the duality of the character also was a misstep. One of the best aspects of Batman is the internal turmoil between Bruce and Batman, and Justice and Violence. And, for Reeves to characterize Batman as a symbol of hope for Gotham, it's a complete misunderstanding of what the character is. Batman is the demon of the night who loves to beat up criminals. If Batman wanted to be a symbol of hope, he would pay for private security for his city or campaign for major. The key to Batman is his questionable morality and his unstable mental state, not his status as a hero. Ben Affleck’s script would've been the best Batman film ever made, he understands the character, just like Snyder does.

If This film came out i would've really like Ben's version of batman and i hope affleck gets to make his film

Great video, does not trash anyone, simply just explores Ben's lost film.
It is shame we did not get to see this film, it would have been amazing.

Ben Affleck is Ben Affleck’s worst enemy. He is no victim, he reaped what you sowed.

Omg Robot Ben Affleck responded to me.
I personally would love to see Ben’s vision come to life in a HBO Max series

Zack Snyder, Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill were fucked over.
Like The Flash movie.
Imagine having a strong villain and interesting side characters in a DC movie.
It's unfortunate that working on it had become such
a burden, that he abandoned the entire movie. Still, it would have been great to watch a Batman movie with Ben Affleck and Joe Magenello as Deathstroke. That would have been so

Ben Affleck's Batman script feels more emotional and brutal.

I hate the established cannon Snyder set up for Batman anyways, I'm glad they're doing a refresher. Though I still LOVE Affleck in the role, he's still my favorite actor who's dawned the cowl.
❤️Thanks for unfairly and support you have consistently been showing me. I really appreciate the unconditional love I’ve gotten from you, which has inspired me to give more sensational entertainment. I’m forever grateful. What country are you watching from?
The DCEU is the biggest missed opportunity ever. However the destruction of it all eventually lead to The Batman, which was perfect imo
They should of done the court of owls story arc. It is literally what Matt reeves was describing. A Gotham illuminati that's tied to his family and himself with a greater over plot that would of lead to sequels galore
I thought Ben hated playing Batman?? I didn't like his Batman. The suit was awesome and his whole fighting style. I never cared for him anyway...
I would've kept dick Grayson alive and made him the one who comes in to help since he's the one with the rivalry with deathstroke in the comics
Makes much more sense than Batgirl
I would've had Barbara in there as oracle and have her replace Alfred's role after he dies
I always assumed that was the Jason Todd outfit we saw and that it was him dead rather than Dick
