Whether you like Ben or not.. we all know he deserved his solo Batman film. Man was insane and accurate to the comic The Dark Knight. He’s brutal, strong, giant and fearless. I’ve seen it in that 4 minute scene in BvS.
That scene kicks ass...but it's really all Zack Snyder, the cinematographer, the choreographer, and the stunt-team. Ben has very little to do with that scene.
@@johnnydi2203 Zack is actually a hit and miss as a director. Most if his films seem to be convoluted. 300, sucker punch, army of the dead, bvs are not an A grade film but a B.
Single handedly one of the greatest Batman scenes in the history of the character. Ben did deserve a solo film and 2 hours of him fighting every villain he put in Arkham like a Game of Death style film. It would have been probably the best Batman film of all time.
Ben's take on Batman is severely underrated. I thought he did a fantastic job in Bats vs Supes (the Snyder cut or whatever it was called). Hell, the warehouse scene alone was worth it.
Seeing the way Matt Reeves handled Batman, I’m not so sad this movie didn’t go thru production. At the same time it would be cool to see the vision Ben Affleck had come to life.
It was horrible. So many inconsistencies in the movie and the script was braindead. It's actually the worst batman movie i've ever seen...and this is coming from a diehard batman fan. Matt reeves doesn't understand batman. I think pattinson acted well, but his acting couldn't save the horrible dialogue. On the other hand if snyder got his hands on a solo batfleck movie it would be a masterpiece, everything batman should be...a live action arkham batman !
@rover5058 Going into it, I was excited to hear they were taking a more crime thriller approach to Batman. But when I heard Matt Reeves was directing, I wasn't sure about the outcome.Wasnt a fan of his other films and he has a tendency to show he get bored cause I get bored while watching his films.i saw it a few times and think its overrated. The only thing I like about the film is the beginning, the I am the shadows.Thats about all I think they got right in this mess which many of the actors felt like they were overacting.Maybe they just should've got David Finch himself to direct.Im definitely NOT seeing the sequel!
I feel so bad about the fact that no more detective story edgy everything that they said all those magic keywords ended up being in the Batman anyway even the name the Batman!!!
I'd love to see Ben Affleck's The Batman as a comic book or an animated movie/series. Hell, I could say the same for other cancelled comic book films that were left open-ended.

When Ben mentioned that the Tim Miller directed Batman/Deathstroke fight from Arkham Origins was EXACTLY what he was going for, and cast Joe Manginallo, AND the look of him... I just thought how effin 👌 it would be to see. Knowing we would see detective Batman, more of the frenetic energy of how Batfleck fights, the whole look and style of Batfleck of it... Seeing Slade take him apart...Maybe even John Cleese as Wintergreen... it was great seeing Joe again and Ben FINALLY meet Letoker in Snyders JL.... Esai Morales did a great job in Titans but this REALLY sucks that we never got Ben's The Batman. I really hope that HBO Max ponies up the cash and we get a 3-4hr miniseries... We get a rogues gallery, more Jeremy Irons, more Joe, more JD Simmons... I'm not super hyped for The Batman we are getting and I just hope the Flash leaves door open for Batfleck but the more I see about this amazing project the more it sucks that we won't be getting this movie.
What gets me? Why doesn't WB (or whoever owns them now) just commission the existing script and either animate it and/or make a novel out of it? Yes, its a massive shame the live-action movie itself will never get made, but there are other avenues these things can be done. The lack of imagination here is utterly appalling.

It’s literally insane how i was completely against Ben Affleck playing Batman when it was first announced and now all I want is him in the role, he’s my favorite Batman. Long live the Snyder verse!! I’m grateful we got what we did.
When Affleck was first cast as Batman I was pissed for years, until Batman V Superman came out and the warehouse scene happened. It was one of the greatest Batman fight scenes of all time. Not better than all of Nolan's trilogy but it was single handed the best fight scene in any live action Batman film. After that Ben grew on me and I liked his cameos in the other films, I didn't think they were long enough. Than I heard he was making his own Batman film and I felt if it was like the Arkham Knight games and more like the warehouse scene and put it in like a Game of Death type setting where it was all fighting and 90% all Batman just fighting everyone he put in Arkham it would be incredible. The end boss would be of course Leto's Joker where they could finally be united and possibly have one of the greatest Batman films ever made. But then of course Warner Brothers step in and cancel everything and now we are getting a new Batman totally different and more of the same rehashed storylines with more flashbacks of his parents getting killed and just Things we have seen way too much already and everything I personally am really tired of. I think Robert Pattinson is an ok choice as a young Batman but as far as being excited for it I'm really not and could care less.
@@saifurrahman3420 Very good film great villain Robert did a fine job qs a tortured inexperienced unsure batman and lost Bruce Wayne and Zoe Kravitz was a great Catwoman slick sexy and angrily driven you should check it out also thought it was the best on screen Jim Gordon so far.
I think you summarized "The Batman's" troublesome development best by calling it a missed opportunity. The movie would've provided some much-needed characterization for the DCEU's version of the Dark Knight. Ben Affleck's Batman could've been something interesting with Joe Manganello on board and someone passionate to direct.
@@MasonMcLeodFilms Indeed, some are. For example these idiots, who are just posting, that they want to "restore the Snyder Verse" and then start to review-bomb other movies, since "mimimi, you don't listen to us". No one has to listen to you, kids. Take it or leave it, love it or hate it.
Good video, and even though I’m not a fan of BvS (IMO the Heavens Gate of superhero films) Affleck sold a tired and mature Bruce Wayne brilliantly. Major shame his Batman film never reached fruition.
I have always felt, since Batman v Superman, that had WB supported Snyder, Cavill and Affleck the DCEU would be so much more successful today. Warner NEVER put its weight and support behind them and today we are left without a proper foundation for the DCEU. A scrambled continuity. Characters dropped or recast. Brand new incarnations with every new movie. Reboots and retellings. This is all entirely the fault of Warner Bros and not Snyder Affleck orCavill..
U can tell from the interviews he was so furious n annoyed on the inside of people's always asking him about the batman like let the man breathe no wonder he was an alcoholic at the time. Live by night was a good movie and DC should focus more on grounded characters that deal with gangster noir settings.
I wish Affleck would had worked with me to direct the movie it would had been great.Ive been a fan of Batman since I was a kid and still am fascinated by him over the rest of them.
I feel like this is the first time when the actors wanted to play a character but the STUDIO is the one refusing to cooperate. I think it usually goes the other way around.
How could you come to that conclusion after watching Affleck say he lost his passion for it? he dropped out all on his own, WB was disapponted because they had spent years waiting for him to write the script and get ready to direct it. When he quit, he left them in the lurch, they lost all the momentum they had from the Snyder films, and it took another five years before they had a solo Batman movie. None of that was WB's fault, Affleck quit on them to go to rehab. WB wasn't the one who refused to cooperate, this was all on Affleck.
It really is disheartening to watch Ben’s passion and vigor for the project and his role in the DC movies fade over time. I’ve personally never understood the Ben Affleck hate, and it sucks to see his disappointment in something that would’ve been a great new direction for his career.
Ben Affleck didn't get the true opportunity to cement himself as the best live-action Batman of all-time, but if we got the Snyder Cut of Justice League who's to say we can't get Batfleck back for his own film or mini-series on HBO Max.
I got really excited when it was announced that Ben Affleck's Batman was getting his own stand alone movie. Joe Magenello's Deathstoke showing up at the end of Justice League talking with Lex Luthor was interesting, but it was done to set up Justice League 2, as we know know. So the original intention of that scene was to set up the stand alone Batman movie. That would have really cool to see Batman go up against Deathstroke! This was a huge blunder on Warner Bros. part. It's fine that Ben Affleck decided to not direct it, and Matt Reeves was hired to direct. He's a good director. Ben Affleck then could have focused on playing Bruce Wayne and Batman well. I don't care to see The Batman with Robert Pattenson. I'd rather skip it since it's not going be part of the DCEU.
I wanna cry, I just cant believe that they're not gonna make this movie, and that is why I think the new batman movie will fail, because is never going to be this movie, and we will always have a bittersweet taste in our mouths ... so so sad, man, I just want to go to bed and cry ... in full honesty I think if revisited, this project would be a riveting success. For years fans had been clamoring for a Batman movie that embraced his role as world's greatest detective, and as far as an origin movie goes, I think The Batman was phenomenal. That being said, because one was made, doesn't mean in my eyes both can't exist. I love The Batman dearly and I equally love the premise of Ben's envisioned film. Particularly, I think that now that we have seen the stealth and detective side of batman executed in a fully successful and enthralling manner with The Batman, it could be a breath of fresh air for the creative visionaries to write some truly stunning and tense segments for Ben's film as a sort of "hunter becomes hunted" story rather than Batman being the dominant power, but he is still figuring it out. I hope that someday this is revisited in the future! I think this story more than deserves to see the light.

I hope one day we'll see Ben as an old Batman, in TDKR or Batman Beyond
Batman v superman already plagiarized the dark Knight returns. They already blew that opportunity
After seeing the image of him betrayed as Deathstroke it is a real shame that the movie may never be made it is the type of project I think fans would have loved.
Ben's Batman movie backstory has some similarities with "Superman Lives." Both should have been made.
Superman Lives ....nah! Glad that fell apart
I have yet to hear about a scrapped DC movie I wouldn't kill to see. Even the Jack Black Green Lantern sounds weird but I'm down.

The Warehouse fight really is a spectacular scene.
@@SupervoidCinema Yeah, I love he brutally murders all those people for no reason. Especially after he's been "redeemed" by Superman. Fuck BVS

We want both of those damm movies Bens and Deathstroke origins BOTH!!!!
Instead WB green-lit Birds of Prey which had nothing to do with its own source material.
@@rover5058 Ouch

I agree. Loved it.
IMO it's the best DCEU Superman film. Man Of Steel was a fantastic set-up, but BvS UE pulls it all together. It's also flows so well, it never feels longer than 2hrs (it's 3hrs). The Theatrical Cut is bad and conversely feels longer than it's 2.5hrs. BvS UE is a better realization than the Snyder Cut of JL.

Regardless of not getting this version of the film, I’m immensely satisfied at the movie that we got from Matt Reeves.
And I was immensely bored to death by it, because it was nothing treading old waters again and again, and not in an interesting way. Early years and super "grounded in reality" ? Begins. Villain who has a vendetta against big criminals ? Mask of the Phantasm. Penguin and Catwoman ? Returns.

The great thing is that Ben can be 60 -70 years old and we can still get a frank miller’s type dark knight returns movie

It is Snyders fault aswell as WBs. Both are to blame.

U can tell from the interviews he was so furious n annoyed on the inside of people's always asking him about the batman like let the man breathe no wonder he was an alcoholic at the time.

Joe Magenello's Deathstoke showing up at the end of
Justice League talking with Lex Luthor was interesting, but it was done to set up Justice League 2, as we know know. So the original intention of that scene was to
set up the stand alone Batman movie. That would have really cool to see Batman go up against Deathstroke! This was a huge blunder on Warner Bros. part.
It's fine that Ben Affleck decided to not direct it, and Matt Reeves was hired to direct. He's a good director. Ben Affleck then could have focused on playing
Bruce Wayne and Batman well. I don't care to see The Batman with Robert Pattenson. I'd rather skip it since it's not going be part of the DCEU.

in full honesty I think if revisited, this project would be a riveting success.
He seems so passionate about Deathstroke. He should play him in another universe.
