Moving house is stressful enough as it is, but how often it leaves you baseless and almost drifting around, waiting for some kind of settling, is the wooooorst. Glad you’re all settled now, and also shout out to your boyfriend and his friend, they’re so kind.

I really needed a video like this today. I'm twenty and am still learning how to be an "adult." Change and dealing with things not going to plan are two things I struggle with a lot.
Omg Lucy you are one of the realest 20 something on this platform (not that I watch a lot of utube anymore but Lucy is a must). I experienced the same thing without even realizing it thank u so much for putting this into words. Looked for a flat for 2 months then a month for a job. Sometimes we are so focused on those pauses and finding a solution for something that we let those things consume all of our energy. I hope better days are coming ☀️
this is such perfect timing for me! I feel like I'm stuck in one of these pauses, because I'm about to move out for uni in 2 months, but it doesn't feel like it's happening, and I'm just sorta stuck in a pause of not getting much done for the next stage of my life that feels like I'm moving out. Glad to know this is fairly normal 👍
literally me for the past two years. Finished uni, moved back home. Decided to finally pass my driving test whilst i could get learners insurance on my parents car. Expected to be out within 6 months. 2 years, 5 tests and a broken arm later, I'm finally ready to move out.

So relatable 🙏 bought a house in February and the year of not knowing really put everything on pause. Love your videos and how real you talk ❣❤
When I was ready to go for a mortgage (this was early 2000's and I worked for a bank) I moved out of my rented bedsit into my mothers for the duration. I felt like I had gone backwards! I ended up buying the second place I saw and had it for ten years I loved the place but in the end not much else in my life so I rented it out and went back to uni and you guessed it moved back in with my mother! Sometimes change is slow or we have to make a back step before we push forward. It is learning how to manage that stress (I did am MA and the first course i got on was canx to I drew my stress out and used those pictures, a Fine Art MA, to get onto what turned out to be the better MA).

I feel like I’ve been stuck in a similar place the last year or so. I had a mental breakdown and because of my depression had to quit my job and move back home. Every time it seemed like things would turn around they just came to a stand still. I would get jobs but they weren’t in the field I wanted so I would immediately start looking for another one. I feel like I’m only just starting to get out of this mind frame and making progress. I got a job as a youth worker (a field I have always strived to be in) and am looking into sharing a flat with either my boyfriend or one of my closest friends. I’m glad to hear you’re out of your rut and I hope that I’ll be out of mine soon too. It’s such a struggle to feel like your life has come to a stand still, but I think it’s an important growing point for everyone.
I moved from sublet to sublet recently and am going to have to find a lease soon and I so relate to not feeling settled. None of these places feel really like mine which is just so weird
I've been "in the woods" for 4 years 😢 I really can't wait to be out, I just keep getting knocked backwards in progress and it's so frustrating!

I'm totally in that same situation. I finished my job training in January and since then I have been working in my company. I want to start uni in October and I just can't wait for it. The thing is that I don't even know what city I'll move to until late August so I can't even start looking for apartments. It just sucks, having to worry about being accepted at a uni AND finding a place to sleep and not being able to do anything but wait
Oh my goodness I totally know what you mean about the prices of two bedroom flats! It took me and my flat mate AGES to get a decent price!! 😂

Just a reminder that youtubers only talk about a small percentage of what’s actually going on in their lives! I wanted to make this a lighthearted video and I hope that came across!
Lucy Moon it definitely did, and this was in no way a critique of you or me trying to throw hate at all. I respect that the number of things you mentioned in the video can be stressful. And I’m obviously aware of the fact that as an audience we don’t know everything that’s going on in your life, and have no right to judge what can be stressful for you. I will say though, I do think it’s interesting how a lot of youtubers make videos where they display the “harder aspects” of life, whether to seem relatable or simply just to share, but of course chose the lighter issues that’s going on. And then get confused when their audience call them privileged etc or simply can’t relate at all. You’re not sharing the hard things, because it’s obviously deeply personal and you’re in no way obligated to share anything. But this will also result in comments pointing out that moving, closets etc isn’t the biggest issues. This is not a critique aimed against you Lucy, I think you seem to be an amazing person and aware that even being able to move apartments in London is a privilege.

Actually in a very relatable situation. I'm currently living with my brother and I kinda hate it. Like I appreciate it and I'm grateful but because I don't pay rent or bills I then I have to do everything else im asked including a list of constantly increasing menial tasks that take up most if not all of my day. But they are moving states next month and so I need my own place and I'm getting it. So it's literally just waiting out the rest of the month and a half or so till I have my own space.
But Everytime I think of that I dread the idea of having to pay real bills and I'm just terrified kuz ik how easy it is to get overwhelmed why bills n I do a job that's very physically demanding so if something happened at work and I got hurt like it's just scary to even think about. That's why I'm spending this run way time I have till my adulting life starts properly to figure out my finances and to start investing in myself and maybe get multiple income sources

This makes me more hopeful of me finding a half decent apartment some day.

This is probably the most ridiculous story here but I felt the most vulnerable when my colleagues talked about sexual stuff/talking about man and I couldn't contribute anything to this conversation because I'm 26 and had never a boyfriend omg I felt so horrible the whole week or still when I think about it. Everytime something comes up related to this subject I freeze.. every lunch break I hope they don't talk about it, I kinda sense they know I'm virgin.
Dena Na Hello, I'm guessing you're asexual? It's a little known sexual orientation. You're not alone, about 4-5% of the population are asexual. Nothing wrong with you, you just don't feel sexual attraction.
