lol he's already been proven to be a domestic assault perpetrator in court the last time he went to court when he tried to sue a newspaper for libel. Depp's as guilty and as vile as they come, and I hate how this channel has added to his hero worship and harassment of his victim by using this thumbnail.

He's a covert narcissist. They tend to be charming and have a harem ready to defend them. Textbook case of duping delight, gaslighting, and trying to control the narrative.

It is important to know there are two types of confidence:
*External Confidence - which is the confidence you project to others like making friends, closing deals or seducing someone,
*Internal Confidence - which is the confidence you feel in any situation.
But the first isn’t a form of confidence, it’s a mode of appearance. That’s like saying that acting like a wealthy or beautiful person makes you either, or that a wig is a type of hair.
Acting like you’re a thing and being that thing aren’t the same.
It sounds like this is splitting-hairs, but this is important: if you put yourself in a situation where you’re appearance-focused rather than values-focused you’ll be found out, and your efforts will be unsustainable.
@@markofsaltburn The first is absolutely a form of confidence. He literally describes “external”. Regardless of how you’re feeling, not all situations allow you to *feel* confident. In those cases acting confident to keep composure is just as critical. No one is arguing that true confidence comes internally and you can’t fake it. Like being tired at work, you hide it and show up regardless.
@@intheeyesofj7329 if you act like you’re a thing but don’t feel like it, then you’re not the thing. If I’m smiling but feeling miserable inside, my smile isn’t “external happiness”, it’s just a false smile.
This is how NLP works; all of your projections and visualisations have to be values-based and true or they won’t work.
@@markofsaltburn I'm very glad that you've stated this. I find myself very much agreeing! Acting like something that you are not is, from the way that I see it, essentially the breeding grounds for egocentrism (if not directly egocentrism). I think it's about being genuine; when genuine, it's not something that has to be forced (therefore not truly real as you've similarly stated). If there are indeed certain instances where it has to be faked (ex: leading someone away from harming others by pretending no one is in the room so that they don't check), I think they should be the exceptions and not the rule.
To use your example when it comes to smiling and happiness, smiling in order to maintain an image of happiness isn't true happiness. Smiling due to being exposed to something that genuinely makes one happy, now THAT'S genuine! That also tends to be the most radiant due to how real it is! This smile can have a lasting effect to the point that it spreads: a genuine smile based on genuine happiness and is not based on any lie! THAT'S where the substance tends to be (it also helps that humans tend to be very great at detecting a genuine smile, but I slightly digress)! A smile made for the sake of image tends to fade one way or another; it's not a solid foundation. A smile that exists due to genuine happiness will have a very strong effect! The foundation is strong and real from the ground up! Even if that smile might turn into a frown someday, the moment would be everlasting due to the genuine impact that it would have (who knows, it might even lead to some genuine smiles)! This is indeed the way that I see it!

Man that last part hit me good. I am a guy who was diagnosed with ADHD and Autism, low muscle tone and speech delay (didnt start speaking till I was 5) when I was a kid. During elementary and middle school I really struggled with women and socially. Thanks to appreciating small stuff like jokes or just nice conversations in general, I built my social skills and now I am after a successful military service, good with women, and have a bunch of friends thanks to just appreciating every small win and interaction. It slowly build my charisma and confidence to a point where I feel amazing. And if people get try lowering you for getting happy over these small wins (cause ppl will) it is there loss not yours. Appreciate these small moments ppl trust me it will get you far

Ecxact same story as a kid( except i didn't start talking until 6) but somehow with some tricks i had lot of friends and i was charismatic, but the thing is I've always felt lonely because i was struggling so much to be lovely and social that i forgot about myself and i was trapped in acting cycle, i do better now and i feel so relaxed but still need more practice and courage to be myself and hopefully i find friends that like me for real me

@@anonsmith3459 I do not worship him. Johnny is far from perfect, but I admire the fact that he is trying to do something about this after experiencing his relationship with Amber. In regards to the quote, it entered my mind when I thought about how men are not often believed in these cases due to the stigma that they cannot experience abuse. My apologies if me relating his experience to one of his roles offends you. I was also just expressing gratitude to this channel for using something that is going on in our world to help others. Whether we choose to like it or not, this is a very public case that people are tuning in to. Instead of making Tik Toks of Amber Heard crying, they chose to identify body language and tone to help others who view the video. If something is in the lime light, it may as well be utilized for educational purposes.

He's not an invalid he's not geriatric or elderly in fact he's old enough to know that he was in a toxic relationship but as I said before he loves drama and he loved the drama that Amber brought until it cost him his money and his career then it wasn't fun and games anymore and now years after they divorced he wants to sue her and put out there that she was the way she was but you married her? You didn't even marry the mother of your children who you didn't have any scandals with you didn't even honor her in that way that you honored Amber so why are you guys putting him as the victim because he chose to be with her and even married her and that's not nothing to sniff at. He's only doing something because his money got affected and his career and I'm not begrudging him that he should speak up for himself my point is that he had a hand in what happened because he stayed he wanted arm Candy he got toxic arm Candy but he was all in because he loved again the drama that she brought but at his age he's too old to be in some toxic relationship when he knows how to be in a normal relationship he just wanted to feel young again and she made him feel young again by bringing that drama. He chose to stay and there are consequences to staying in a toxic relationship as I said before that could cost you even your life so it's no surprise that his career suffered behind it and his money. They both need help though because they both have demons he needs to kick his habit go to rehab she needs to go get serious therapy for her obvious mental issues and I love how we pick and choose people with mental issues who shoot themselves in the foot obviously all the time because they have those mental issues as to whether or not we empathize with them or sympathize with them and other times we we demonize and skewer them publicly for it both her and people like jussie Smollett they obviously have an issue thinking that they can get away with lies that are obvious or that can be checked out and still continue to do it over and over again despite the fact that they keep getting found out so they obviously have mental issues and I hope they get help for that but to demonize them because you so-called love their " victim " ? He told his truth without denying bad behavior, and therefore had a relaxed and confident testimony. Heard put on performances that were all over the place and rarely admitted to wrongdoing unless it was forced out of her. I doubt she’s that concerned because there are already people working overtime to defend her name publicly and claim that believing a male victim of abuse is actually “misogynistic”

This entire trial feels as if it was as much about nonverbal communication skills and body language as legal knowledge and lawyers' favorite courtroom gimmickry ;) A perfect hybrid of all the legal shows you've watched over the years ;)
Amber Heard's overacting was hilarious. Switched it on and off like a tap, and kept checking the jury to see if her emotional manipulation was working.
Sarcastically destroying someone should be a tagline for Johnny's demeanor throughout this case.

Honestly, I think the fact that Amber Heard used SO MUCH reaction-seeking body language by CONSTANTLY staring at the jury during her testimonies was the single most damaging thing she did to her image during the trial. And that's saying something, cause she did a lot of things that didn't have a great look.
Impressive. I must be finally learning. One thing I quite naturally managed to do last week, gave me that warm feeling of a SMALL WIN, plus an un-expected FRAME, and I executed it in a SLOW APPARENTLY confident way was this. In a bank I was asked "Please furnish us with answers to these security questions" "Where were you born?". I allowed the pause, then, with full eye contact calmly said "In a hospital". Which got me a hesitational look from the clerk, I just said "Type it in". Then "What was your last school?". Pause, "Borstal". And you can imagine the flavour of the following answers. Even though done quietly and calmly, boy oh boy, did that interaction make me feel good, I walked tall out of there as would James Bond!

Something that really helped me improve point #5 (create a positive feedback loop) is gratitude journaling. It is great!
He is a master of self-control in these situations!
Once, while I worked for a woman whose behavior led me to discover and research narcissistic personality disorder, I wrote a letter to her which addressed working conditions and my request for a significant raise.
A few days later, while she was engaged in a trivial task, she brought up the letter, then paused.
I should add here that she had been a lawyer and later a high-ranking judge with full knowledge of manipulation tactics and negotiations.
When she paused, I couldn't think of anything to say in that moment yet she took it as my own ability to manipulate the situation and gave me the raise because she needed me to continue to work for her.
It's funny and I will always remember it because I don't have the skill nor desire to manipulate people and was only silent due to a failure to come up with words.
It was one of the only times in my life that I have been grateful for the freeze response. :)
I'm glad Johnny is able to maintain himself well in this trial, given all that he has been through.

I do often give relationship advice--what to say in a given difficult situation--and to let the spoken words hang in the air, without any additional words if the other person doesn't respond right away. It's their turn to talk. Occasionally I suggest that a person may want to preface their statement with, "What I'm going to say is important, and I'd like you to not respond right away but to think about what I've said. Is that something you can agree to?"

Saying a hilarious answer before the real one is very funny. My collegaue does this all the time which constantly makes me crack up behind my screen. However ONLY saying the comical answer and not being able to eventually answer a serious question seriously is very annoying and frustrating.

The donated/pledged angle was not a "strong frame", it was a weak excuse that only takes on the appearance of a strong frame if repeated enough times that it wins through sheer attrition. And even that's debatable since she was being roundly mocked for this worldwide. There's a thin line between "holding a strong frame" and "being delusionally committed to your own doublespeak".
Amber Heard can't even act sad.

6:10 so what would be a good example of what JD could of said instead of attacking Rottenborne's frame. Like instead saying "traffic was pretty bad." Or "I wanted to give everyone an autograph?" idk. I hear that he was actually late since he would try to get everyone an autograph or selfie when he arrives, only leaving when his bodyguards drag him away.
Tried these tactics the other day, and none of it worked for me. Then I was reminded that I am not Johnny Depp.
Yeah other people call it sophistication in my opinion saying the truth was what kept him confident and his beliefs made his frame strong naturally.
