At the beginning of the year, murder hornets was supposed to be this apocalyptic distaste, but by summer we'd forgotten all about those little critters. What with tfg getting on tv every night & bloviating instead of doing anything to solve the pandemic. (If the jerk had made any serious effort to address the pandemic he would've been re-elected, but no, not only was he too lazy to do anything he took a sadistic delight in frustrating any attempt by others to do something. Too bad he wasn't laid up by COVID.)

I actually miss the start of the pandemic when we didn't know how bad things were going to get
Yup me too. Good times
... but it was NEVER really that bad, we just allowed media into our collective psyche. Those that tried to escape the societally imposed negative oppression were beaten back in line.
To be honest, the chief thing I miss about the pandemic was that there were many fewer people on the road when I had to drive in to work. (Yes, I was one of the few who had to go to work because of my job: being the IT guy who has to fix computers, connect cables & push buttons is difficult to do from home.) Instead of a one-hour commute each way, I was able to get back in forth in only 20 minutes. Geez, do I miss that. Almost enough to want another COVID outbreak -- but only if tfg is one of the casualties.

@@hpham5589 Also, the protests have lost a lot of media coverage. A lot of people are just tired of bad news after bad news and have stopped watching it all together. I personally don't know if there still are protests and honestly I don't care at this point.
