Welcome to Malaysia! One thing tourists need to understand about Malaysia is that we're a diverse nation. We're not just composed of locals like Malays, Chinese, and Indians. Our population also includes people from other countries, such as Nepal (often working as security guards), Indonesia (whose people usually resemble Malays), Bangladesh (primarily working in construction), and the Philippines (working in hotels). Foreign workers from Nepal and Bangladesh can also be found in various roles, including as cashiers at convenience stores like 7-Eleven. Many of these foreign workers may have limited English language skills, which can, unfortunately, lead to misunderstandings and create the misconception that Malaysians are unfriendly. In reality, many Malaysians are quite friendly and speak English well. However, we tend to be more reserved and prefer to mind our own business. While we often help tourists who seem lost or struggling, we generally avoid intruding on others' personal space.
That is a beautiful explanation and as I reflect on my staying in Malaysia it makes sense . I’m sorry if I sound ignorant but if you could physically describe what a local Malay looks like what would you say ?
@@PayMeInPaella Malays usually have tanned skin and black hair, similar to Indonesians. Its 90% accurate bro.. normally we take the dish and put it in the plate mix it with the bread in the plate. Malay and Indian or Arab descend use right hand to eat.
I also don't know if you are eating it correctly LOL... I think most people here don't really care ... there are people from all sorts of backgrounds here mixing in here and there so we don't really have many "strict" rules unlike some other countries/society where people are always stressed to follow the "norm" or majority. You are welcome to imitate and follow others and see how you like it and continue or stop as you like .... as long as you don't waste the food :)
Re: food, if it's a sharing meal or a family meal, make sure you serve everything on your plate first instead of eating directly from the serving plates. The serving plates should have their own spoons, don't use yours because it's been in your mouth. I wish this didn't have to be said but I've seen too many tourists committing this faux pas literally everywhere. But otherwise yeah that's how you eat bread. Not every town is like Bangkok. If you want peace, you will find peace. Thailand is so big, there's something for everyone. I go to the Thai border weekly. It's sleepier and much more conservative due to the Muslim population, definitely not for tourists.
I'll eat that way too. but that Arabic food is not a local food here. please try roti canai, nasi lemak etc.. . finger crossed you wont get kidnapped. 🤣

Malaysia hotter than Thailand is very subjective as most South East Asian countries ; Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, Vietnam, Cambodia and others are situated near the Equator and have tropical climate, so its almost the same weather except in highlands like in Malaysia Cameron Highlands, Genting Highlands, Fraser Hills, near Mt Kinabalu in Sabah...or in further north Thailand or Vietnam are much cooler weather and less humid. Bangkok can be a lot hottee than Kuala Lumpur and on the way around depend on time you visit. Currently is monsoon season so its rain a lot in KL and around Malaysia, so less humid and a bit cooler but still hot when it sunny unless you under shade. KL is not located near the sea,,similar to Bangkok,, the nearest beach is Port Dickson or Morib about 1 hour drive. However Peninsular Malaysia is surrounded by sea and Kuala Lumpur is in the valley surrounded by hills and alot greenery around KL is help to cool it down similar to Singapore.

I appreciate that. What are your thoughts on life in Malaysia?
Hey bro... loving your vibe
That’s very nice of you . I hope you enjoy more content coming . Thanks for the positive w

Best foody place in Malaysia
1. Gopeng perak
2. Gua musang Kelantan
3. Sibu Sarawak
4. Kajang Selangor
5. Taiping Perak
6. Sandakan Sabah
7. Kluang Johor
8. Maran Pahang
9. Kuala Sepetang Perak
10. Sungai Petani Kedah.
I appreciate the list . Next time I’m back in Malaysia 🇲🇾 I will reference this 👊
@@PayMeInPaella that list is totally not true though my man.
@@PayMeInPaella this guy is right. The kaya toast in lawan kuda, gopeng is totally awesome. The same with the authentic Thai food in Gua Musang, Taiping Kueh teow, fresh seafood in Kuala Sepetang, Sekinchan nasi lemak, Red Wine Mee Sua and Kampua noodles in Sibu, Kluang rail coffee, Sungai Petani food court, Kajang satay, Sandakan fish noodles and Kampar Chicken biscuits. Ipoh is also a food haven.. Some people will tell you that Penang and KL food are good but for me these places offer tasteless food with lots of hype.
😂😂😂😂 are you saying that list came from Google or something ?
Okay gotcha . Thanks for the insights 🙏🏿🙏🏿
Thanks for everyones support btw
giving u a like and sub just for saying "better than singapore" hahaha, welcome to malaysia bro
😂😂😂 I mean it respectfully. But yea I love the vibes
😂
Dope
Thank you so much ! I’m glad you enjoyed
May Allah swt guide u. Pls visit a mosque too.

The way you eat the bread was correct.

BEST MEAL I had in Asia ! You must try it 😃
Subscribers 417 reporting in Welcome to Malaysia Malaysia🇲🇾 please take care and enjoy your stay..
12:06 all is good brother.. As long you doesn't use your foot.. We will never judge.. 😅
I apologize.. I just laughed after a few bit of this eating scene.. Because i noticed the silent and the focus.. Very familiar with the youngsters eating at their granny house.. Need to stay silent or i will ended with more food on my plates.. 😅😅
Thank you subscriber 417. We are currently on 423. Let’s see if we can get to 500 in the next 24 hours . Please share the video with your friends . Make sure to like 👍🏿 and comment ✍🏿
I only eat with my feet when I’m in Thailand . Just kidding . Thanks for everything though !
We did it and exceeded 500 . Thanks for your support
Its 90% accurate bro.. normally we take the dish and put it in the plate mix it with the bread in the plate. Malay and Indian or Arab descend use right hand to eat.
In school they taught us 90 percent is still a good grade letter A. 😃
It thank you for your feedback . Now I know what to do in the future . I can always use someone telling me the truth . Thanks bro 👍🏿
@@PayMeInPaella you may use any method that you feel comfortable with. No problem at all.. but the best is with hand🙏🫡🫡😊
Thank you
Malaysia has the same power outlet as UK
Yea that make sense . Thanks
Because the colonization?
KL smack in between on VALLEY, so its not close to the sea actually.
Like 1 hour or less driving ?
❤👑❤🤲❤👑❤
Yea ☝️☝️
Malaysia is 240 volt... british plug point...
Thanks for the intel . I will keep that in mind
I never eat with my hands & nobody cares. Just ask for cutlery & they are happy to bring it for you. Malaysians are easy 👍🏻👍🏻
Okay thanks for the advice . I definitely will come back to Malaysia in 2025
plenty to explore, go to east coast for real malay culture
Like the cities that border Singapore ?
I also don't know if you are eating it correctly LOL... I think most people here don't really care ... there are people from all sorts of backgrounds here mixing in here and there so we don't really have many "strict" rules unlike some other countries/society where people are always stressed to follow the "norm" or majority. You are welcome to imitate and follow others and see how you like it and continue or stop as you like .... as long as you don't waste the food :)
Definitely won’t waste the food . It’s too good lol . How do you usually eat it ?
Gotcha . The spoon 🥄 part seems very respectful and I can definitely get behind that .
I appreciate your information. Thank you 🙏🏿
Get yourself a universal adapter if you travel a lot.
That’s a good tip . I somehow lost mine like 3 days before I came to Asia . But yea your right I need to get anouther 1
Real Hidden Gem (Malaysia) 1. KL (Capital) 2. Ipoh (Perak Capital) 3. Penang. 4. Johor Bahru (Johor)
You’re maybe the fifth person to mention Penang and Johor Bahru . I need to seriously consider them 🤔
I'll eat that way too. but that Arabic food is not a local food here. please try roti canai, nasi lemak etc.. . finger crossed you wont get kidnapped. 🤣
😂 if I get kidnapped maybe I can call you . Just kidding. I have left Malaysia but next time I will look at that . I plan on coming back in 2025
Bro sometime when you eat, there will be someone already pay for your food.
Really ? Are you saying they may offer to pay for me ?
@@PayMeInPaella Depends on our luck too 😅 some people will suddenly paid for random people. Especially on Friday. When we bought something, seller will said 'someone already paid for this'.
Kl is more metropolitan than Bangkok ❤
I noticed when I was looking at the map it did look spread out
You gotta hang out with more Muslims. 😉 Muslims in the US def talk about it. Halal food, Muslims everywhere, affordable, and a ton of people speak English... It's a hot honeymoon location for US Muslims for sure...
Your right I should tap in with the culture more
Malaysia hotter than Thailand is very subjective as most South East Asian countries ; Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, Vietnam, Cambodia and others are situated near the Equator and have tropical climate, so its almost the same weather except in highlands like in Malaysia Cameron Highlands, Genting Highlands, Fraser Hills, near Mt Kinabalu in Sabah...or in further north Thailand or Vietnam are much cooler weather and less humid.
Good points
Your right when you said it can be subjective . I was just going off what the locals told me + what I felt
14:30 😭😂 yes most msians get hit w this after a good meal
You already know . What’s your favorite meal ?
Cool
I’m glad you enjoyed it . I got more content on the way !
Most of the workers are foreigners so you will find some of them are not well verse of the city and the Malaysian custom.
Okay gotcha . Is that a KL thing or is that most of Malaysia ?
@PayMeInPaella in most of the major cities and towns.
If I wanted to meet actual Malay people where would you advise me to go
It’s monsoon season 😂😂
Tell me more about
@@PayMeInPaella It rains almost all the time.
Ohhh okay thanks
I dont mind other people dont know about Malaysia. 😂 Lets keep it a secret.
What about just you + me + my subscribers? 🤔
Malaysia is closer to the equator and thts y we are hotter than thailand. 😅😅😅
Ohhh okay . Yea it was burning 🔥 up 😂
Pssstt... Don't tell people about Malaysia. We liked it to be low key, low profile. 🤫
😂😂 these might be my last videos with the name Malaysia in them .
Nah, you can eat it with you feet too, we don't care.
Lmao
I was going to try my ankles instead but hey feet work as well
You're in malaysia and you're eating middle eastern food? Man, i don't even know how to properly eat mid east food. Find local malaysian food then we'll have tips and pointers how to eat them
🤣🤣🤣🤣. Is this the equivalent to going to America and setting African food ?
@@PayMeInPaella 😆😆😆You need locals to guide you. Just ask your subscribers. Surely there are some who'd be glad to show you around. btw, if you like bbq seafood, search 'Ikan Bakar Jalan Bellamy'. There's lots of videos of that place in YT. Its seafood bbq malay style. Usually opens for lunch. Look up its operating hours. You won't be disappointed with the taste and choices!
Yes we're diverse but just don't go to terengganu or kelantan
Why not
Racial discrimination towards chinese and indians are very evident in the state @PayMeInPaella
See This is the type of honesty we need . No place on earth is completely perfect so when I get this type of feedback I greatly appreciate it . There are areas of the states 🇺🇸 that are more racist as well as

Eating not Malaysian food and KL is not near the ocean
If you can drive to the ocean in less than an hour it’s considered near . 🤦♀️
kidnapped? not gonna happen unless you're johnny somali.

Malaysian is a most visit by touris in south east asia.. And you guy said never heard a country.. 😅😅😅
I heard about Malaysia . I just saying the western media makes it seem like it’s not good
I love it though !
My country. Malaysia. I have been travelling a lot the last three years Europe, Middle East and SEA. Should you ask outsiders about this country, many will not give you the real picture, my country is a hidden gem and underrated.
Yea . That’s the truth
But to me Thailand it's more better...very welcoming people, best Infrastructure, the best food ever and no 1 famous Holiday Destination in ASEAN for visitor from whole world...
I agree.. let all the tourists to stay in Bangkok😅 we don't need more people here
😂😂
Yes. For those who love Bangkok, go to Bangkok please.😊
