Imagine thinking you’ve found the guy you want to marry, literally hoping to move together to another city with him, and all the whiles he’s in love with someone else. Crazy. I would’ve been so depressed
I love Jim and Pam but Karen deserved better than this
She did. Thankfully they appeased fans a bit when we found out she was happy with a new guy and starting a family later.
😢
Yeah. Jim is low key toxic. He’s in love with an engaged girl, which makes her break up. Then he dates TWO people while still in love with her, and breaks up with both of them
@@LiterallyMichaelScott ehhhh toxic is a bit much. Jim was in love with someone who was taken, then he tried to move on multiple times. If you’ve ever loved someone who doesn’t love you back, you can do a lot to try to get rid of that feeling, especially when they’re a close friend. It hurts, a lot, all the time. Then, after years of pain, he tries to let go of Pam completely and he just… can’t. Not when Pam is finally available.
It’s not right at all what he did to Karen, she was an unfortunate victim of his “get over Pam” efforts. But he may have actually liked her as well - they had legitimate chemistry. They were together for what appears to be at less months, if not longer (the entire season 3).
Is he awful for using her like that, even if it was partially accidentally? Absolutely, he knew he never stopped loving Pam and he definitely pursued Karen as a shield for going back to Scranton. But I do think he didn’t have any feelings for her? No, he had feelings the first time she played a prank on him.
Always seemed weird to me how Karen gets so much hate when she’s one of the few characters on the show who isn’t a horrible person
She doesn't get hate... not nowadays, at least. Some people know Jim was an idiot but can't help it rooting for Jim and Pam...
Pam has her closure when she bumps into Karen and is relieved to discover she wasn't mad... Jim has his closure when he's scolded like a chiId by Karen when he bumps into her.
@@redacted2275 ugh get over it, people make mistakes and they recognize them. Jim and Karen weren't fit for each other and if they were, he would have forgotten about pam
Literally never seen anyone hating on Karen. You all just imagine stuff.
@@yagesh287no, there are like 3 ppl I know who do. Sure it might not be everyone but there is a significant amount of people who do
Bruh this is jealousy all summed up in one video. 😭😭
Karen is a great example of the real world examples of people just doing nothing wrong but coming into others peoples lives at the wrong time. Situations similar to hers and Jim’s probably happen all the time, no malicious intent intended. Crazy!
You could say Jim had malicious intent since he knew he still had feelings for Pam.
@@diamondandcristal7661you could but he also didn’t know Pam felt that way about him (from what I remember)
@@diamondandcristal7661 He was trying to get over her. I think he'd have succeeded if they didn't have to go back to Scranton
@@Tontoquienloleation That is really unfair to Karen. You should not date someone while you still have feelings for someone else.
It's almost all about timing in life
the grenade flirt between jim and karen was actually cute
Unbelievably cute.
There is something so wholesome about Dwight being there for Pam, like it meant more because it was him
I mean, if you look at his face, it looks like he is tearing up as well. We don't talk about how awesome of a friend Dwight can be.
One of my favorite scenes!
Wait. Doesn’t Dwight think that Pam is just on her period in that scene? Can’t remember
True, even despite the face that Dwight thought she was “PMSing pretty bad”😂
@@Melhaven1 In the Office Ladies podcast Jenna (Pam) talks about how Rainn (Dwight) couldn't stop crying while shooting that scene
It should’ve had the part where Dwight sees Pam crying and goes “Who did this to you? WHERE is he?” Ahh, the start of a friendship hardly talked about.
No, the concussion episode is the start of the friendship... also in the cold opening where Jim puts all of Dwight's stuff in the vending machine, when Pam "buys" Dwight's pencil holder he protests but quickly dismiss it and let Pam keep it... that's a very non-Dwight way of settling things but at this point he was already friends with Pam.
@@redacted2275 I meant for BOTH sides. Yes, Dwight already began to respect Pam, but it wasn’t the same way for her yet.
Hardly talked about? Really?
@@rikann.292 …Yes. Well, not TALKED about, but hardly seen through the series.
One of my favorite Dwight moments.
You know a show is phenomenal when the series finale happened a decade ago and people are still discussing it like a new episode is coming out this Sunday.
It was never that great, lots of shows have clips like these on RUclips and people say the same thing about those shows.
@@Zwei4815wrong
Its one of the goat shows after all
Greatest sitcom in the history of TV. And I mean that, 100%.
@@Zwei4815 Yeah, ok. Classy comment, douchecanoe.
If it weren’t for Jim, Karen & Pam seemed like they would’ve been good friends
7:00 when Dwight is consoling Pam and she starts crying, it looks like he is crying too. We don't talk enough about how good of a friend Dwight can be when he wants to.
Dwight is insanely loyal.
Yeah, "we" do... people are not clueless, just read the comments.
I think it was on the Office Ladies podcast Jenna said she could totally tell it was Rainn crying because they were such good friends in real life
I noticed that too
This hurts, Karen is NOT a bad person, they're all not good people either! Karen got hurt so badly and it hurts me cause she really LIKED him.
Yeah but it's life. You move on. Happens to almost everyone one day or another.
I never got why Jim seemed so concerned when Pam and Karen started to become friendly with one another. The only thing I can come come up with is that Pam fully accepting Karen seemed to him like a sign that she had fully accepted his relationship with Karen, implying that she had fully moved on. I don't know. There are so many layers to this arc. The writing was just superb.
Similar thought I had
cause it’s kinda awkward ig, like he was trying to move on from Pam and her being so close would just keep her on his mind
I'm glad they gave Karen a happy ending, she deserved it
I want someone to look at me the way Karen looks at Jim

@@Ihatethinkingofusers1thx for ur kind words
Trust me they’ll end up breaking your heart in a billion tiny pieces. She’ll make you feel good yea you’ll think she cares about you it’ll be laughs and smiles. Her smile would be the best thing to see, her laugh would be the best thing to hear and then just one day, one day it’ll end you’ll blame yourself, you’ll ask questions that you may never get the answers to or may not even understand the answers to. In the end pain
@@schloomyschloms That’s a bit specific, are you ok man? Just know, it’s not your fault
Hindsight is 20/20.
Honestly, I feel that when Jim said he still had feelings for Pam, Karen should have broke up with him. Not out of spite, but because it was for the best (for all of them). I think she was in that "sunk cost fallacy" where she moved and did all that just to be with him, so she felt she had to fight for him. And Jim, being the guy he is, felt bad and tried to make it work hoping he'd stop loving Pam.
Jenna Fischer’s acting is soooooo good in the last scene.
I'm always blown away by Jenna Fischer's range and how quickly she can transition from one emotion to another (like in the last clip of this video). She might be the best actor on the whole show.
she is criminally underrated. you should read her book!!
You have to relax
@@nissosaurwhat a weird thing to say
i love pam and dwights friendship
"Do whatever you want. We're friends. We're always gonna be friends." In the most antagonistic tone ever. Lol
I freaking LOVE how much Dwight loves Pam. He constantly calls her his best friend and I love that he really loves Jim too. He's like a little brother 😊
Dwight is older and wiser than Jim
@AranAliFlemenco Dwight is significantly older and Jim can't be his bestest mench
Karen is literally the only character on the show that's not clinically insane
the way dwight was tearing up while comforting pam 🥺🥺
Pam's scene at the bonfire is the best thing in this show, her character development over the entire season was so amazing.
That was one of the most cringe things ever and very selfish. Not the best things she's done, quite inconsiderate
@@rithajaythat's actually the very best representation of what a lovehurt person would do
The coworkers do tend to get quirky at night
I was wondering if I was the only one to make the connection.
Hello... Hello, hello... uhhh
💀
That first 2 minutes just show how to perfectly depict someone falling in love... Rashida Jones was beyond perfection in those scenes
When karen said "pam is... kind of a b****" she was so real for that
I mean, in that moment Pam kinda was for saying that.
@@Morworldbecause kindness isn't just about how you say or do things, it's also about what you say and do. Jim is now in a relationship and she should have been respectful to Karen and her relationship about the way she expressed herself. He has an emotional relationship with Karen and it's not his responsibility to cater to Pam's
Thinking about it though I see that Pam and Jim are the same in that way. Jim didn't respect Roy just as Pam didn't respect Karen. Perhaps they are both selfish and self-centred 🧐🤔
@@Morworld I wouldn't do the same and have not when presented with the opportunity. We do so many wrong things by putting our interests above what is right. I can't control what other people will do but I hope that offering this clarity of thought would help someone see the evils of selfishness before they are even hard-pressed by a present temptation. We need to have boundaries because without them everything else is meaningless
When it comes to the person you're gonna spend the rest of your life with, sometimes these things happen....
Masterclass acting and script writing
Friends. That word friends, the way Pam says it is so perfect because there’s no hesitation that would make you think she doesn’t mean it, because she believes she does. Because this Pam is used to making it ok that she doesn’t have what she wants.
That is so profoundly deep. Love it
I can't help but feel bad for karen
Everyone feels bad for Karen. But she has a happy ending too. She gets a promotion, gets married, and is pregnant before she sees Jim again.
She should have walked the moment he didn't want her to live two blocks away. Trying so hard after that to force the relationship was her mistake.
Dwight comforting Pam is one of the sweetest things ever.
I love Pam forgetting the question at the end, like it’s an outtake of the mockumentary “interviews” in case you forgot what the show structure is
you know the storytelling is amazing when it has this depth of characters that allows you to feel different about it with time and rethink your opinions. I believe, most of us here were totally into Jim+Pam being together no matter who will suffer from this - Roy (bad guy), Karen (not important) and so on, and now when rewatching this after all the years and lots of experience gained it all feels quite different, I can totally get where the Karen support and Pam hate and Jim hate comes from but once agian this doesn't mean they're bad. it's a good story about real people and real people and never just good or bad, it's all subjective and keeps changing
2:25 michael making it awkward was so realistic. you can be completely civil and have little tension with someone you have a history with so long as you’re both mature about it. but it takes one person giving a look or doing what michael did it make things weird.
The way Dwight gets sniffly and red eyed 🥺🥹
I just realized Pam and Michael panic in the same way
Hmm, that’s interesting…what do you mean?
Jim and Karen would’ve made a great couple but the destiny of Pam stood in the way
No, Jim was immature. Pam has nothing to do with it.
@@redacted2275This, Jim was leading Karen on
@@equidaesPeople say that but nah. Jim was just completely sure that Pam didn't love him back. Which is why he wanted to move to NYC ASAP. He wanted to get away from her. It wasn't really until the end does Jim realize that Pam did in fact love him. Had Pam never made her speech, Jim and Karen would've ended up together.
no they wouldn
@@CklertI think He would sabotage those relationship. He didn’t want to move in with Karen until Pam made him to. He would eventually leave Karen and moved to another city probably
I used to watch every week ‘back in the day’, and that last scene when they finally get together has never lost its spark all these years later...
it’s so pure ✨🥰✨
It was a SUPERB master class by Jenna. SUPERB. Her voice, her facial expressions...she even managed to bring up tears. It was total perfection from start to finish.
It should be required video in every acting class.
Perfect scene.
@@timber72 Agree 💯 her energy is just so palpable.. gets me every time ✨🥺✨
@@timber72Jenna Fisher said the guy holding the camera had been a writer and/or producer on several seasons of the show leading up to that moment (I forget his name). When Jim came in and says it's a date, the writer/producer started crying behind the camera... Which made the scene hit Jenna even harder. It had been such a long lead up, and was such an emotionally happy moment for all of the cast/crew when Jim and Pam FINALLY got there ❤
I remember when that aired it was such a surprise I screamed
@jenniferwhite2945 so beautiful so perfect it was poetry in motion. I totally agree with your comment thank you for putting it out there.
Jim and Angela in frame in that campfire scene looks to me as if two siblings who are always fighting and never agreeing on anything with each other but still placed together and have each other
This is what we mean when we say we can’t decide which one to go with! They’re both beautiful smart great people! But you can’t have them both!
While yes I think the stuff that happened between Jim and Karen was very unfortunate and kind of wrong to Karen, I think it was for the greater good. Jim eventually did the right thing by leaving her because he wasn't in love with her. And it worked out... she found her soulmate, and Jim ended up with his. Sometimes life is complicated. Yes, Jim and Karen were a good couple, but Jim and Pam have an unbreakable, and real connection.
So many people argue whether Karen is better than Pam or not. This is not how it works. It's not a race where the girl getting higher scores wins the prize. Karen is a wonderful woman, she really is. But unfortunately for her Jim's heart was already taken years before they've even met. But luckily for her, she and Jim have figured this out before things got too serious between them.
Fun fact: Rashida Jones said in an interview that even she was rooting for "Team Pam" :D
And THAT is when Pam and Dwight became best friends.
A lot of people feel bad for Karen, but she totally made up for it on Parks and Rec. Married a successful guy, nursing career, baby, house, etc.
YOU CAN’T SAY THIS SHOW ISN’T GOATED
i really like karen despite being a pam/jim girlie. she’s sweet and relatable

Oh i remember that. It was so cringe. I felt bad for Karen. And Jim was a jerk here. He shouldn't give her hope at all.
He did Karen wrong.
Told her to come to Scranton, dated her when he still has feelings for Pam, still flirted with Pam, got her to apply for corporate, then left her in the cold.
I gotta respectfully disagree. Jim at that time thought all they would be was friends and he didn't want to do it, Karen like him and she was super cool so Jim tried out a relationship with her. People are more complex and this situation is no different
Not everything is black and white
I just feel very heavy when I see Karen an Jim for both of them…because they are clearly not meant to each other Karen is really smart and know what she want

The Office , Incredible, Spectacular
i just never understood why any of these characters got hate for this story. each of them made choices that were totally understandable and they chose their consequences. jim didn’t use karen to make pam jealous or anything he just tried to move on from pam after her emphasis on friendship in the parking lot talk, when he realized wasn’t getting over her he told karen about his feelings for pam but she chose to stay with him. then the beach talk happened which made karen realize "getting over pam" couldn’t happen in scranton but also made jim realize he was too in love with pam to give up on her. lastly he went back to pam asking for another shot and finally their timing coincided and she said yes. i think jim liked karen but was a bit late to understand it was nowhere near how much he loved pam. in the end karen could’ve been more realistic and not ask for jim to leave pam who he obviously had a deep mutual connection with, jim could’ve been more honest with himself and pam could’ve been more brave to tell him how she felt before his relationship got deeper. in my opinion all their choices while bad, was understandable given their feelings at the time. karen was too hopeful and in love, jim was too heartbroken to ask pam out for the third time and too hopeful that he’d be able to forget her and pam simply couldn’t risk breaking their friendship again and possibly preventing him from being happy with karen.
I noticed The Office has missed to upload the part where Jim explains to Michael why he left scranton. Just a suggestion, it was a good episode too.
