I looooooooooooove Hastings. Absolutly love the Old Town. Can't wait to be there in May for the Jack in the Green Festival
I lived in Hastings from 1971 till 1973. I loved it. I loved coming back in later years and I am still homesick for the Town. I am german and now been living back in Germany since 1973. In the seventies there was lots to do. I remember the old Pump House and the Aquarius Club. Lots of Pubs to go to.
The best episode ever! Love this pub couple, they're amazing
Thank you! Have you been to Hastings?
@@EasyEnglishVideos not yet, hope to make it later!
Love the intro 😍
I remember a pebble beach at Hastings and fish and chips ,I was only around seven years old !!!
more videos like this, more meeting, more places from England please 🥰
Sure... coming soon!
If I tell you that grew up there I lie you. But I can tell you that I love Hastings it's true. I went there for first time at the age of 10, now I am 43. I used to go on summer, one month to learn English with an Spanish school in Magdalen Road. I spent a month for 5 years. I use to watch Hastings videos on RUclips every week
The Pump House is probably the newest pub in the old town 😂
No! Really? 😆😆😆
Drone shots 😲😲😲
Whoop whoop! 🙌🙌🙌
Yeah Ye Olde Pump House, must have been in Hasting since 1066 🙂 I remember this pub when I was an English student back in 1975 at the age of 17. They sold beer esp. Guinness not asking your age ... and further up the street The Lord Nelson, does ist still exist? Great video, it really brought up some memories, Cheers !
It still exists 😊 !
I am stunned as NEVER before have I been so ignored ! Splendid I must say ! won't waste AGAIN my time commentating .
Hi Freddie, when did you write to us? We get many comments every day and can't find it. :)
Not calling you a liar, but I do find that very unlikely; in my experience, at least, I would say that out of all the Easy Languages channels, Easy English is one of the very _least_ likely to ignore a comment, unless it's something totally incomprehensible or rude, for example.
I'll say it for fun Staying in Hastings means staying EF way,it is a language school where I stayed four weeks
Great video, I like your channel because I learn the real british accent.
Btw the people in the video are so nice and loose. :)
Thanks mate, we really loved all the people interviewed. I think the couple maybe had a few beers already 🤣🤣
@@EasyEnglishVideos 😂🤣🤣 true!! Really nice :)
There are lots of different accents from Britain. This one is spoken on parts of the south coast.
Just realised the funicular railway is mentioned a couple more times in the video but the subtitles continue to call it vernacular railway.
Hastings has the largest land based fishing fleet in europe. Has a few things like church at bottom of harold road which is over 1000 years old. One if not first norman castle built after 1066. The old town has hundred odd ole style small doored timber beam pubs! And they have world record pirate day and jack n green day and world championship gor mini golf every year. And the pier which used to be better and is now fancy but has live music.
Loved the video. Just one thing. At 5.40 someone mentions the funicular railway, but the subtitles say "vernacular railway". You need someone to check the videos before letting them loose on students. ; )
What video editing program you use?
We use Premiere Pro 🙌
How much do the 2p machines cost? Probably about 50-100p now? :D
😂
I have a question what is the best way to learn English. What is your opinion 🤔
Just doıng Practice makes you perfect Its What its :(
@@cumhurylmaz1791 thanks my bro 🙏
funicular* not vernacular
5:36 - Mitch, mate, I'm telling you, I just _can't get enough_ of that exquisite accent of the beautiful lady on the right there...😍😍😍
Ahem, not to mention I also loved that she mentioned the castle and the Battle of Hastings; it sure brought back some good _"Age of Empires II: The Conquerors"_ memories, as well. 😁
Glad to see our dear golden-haired friend decided to shine its light over there, for a change! I can't help but think it _must_ have been such a day when your ancestors came up with this beauty: ruclips.net/video/aFUkIAnE6dA/видео.html
Big hug to you and Isi!
Same. This accent is the bee's knees.
Isn't it spring there? because people are wearing outerwear.
лайк😊
Thanks mate!
Mad I live here lol don’t see it like most of the people do but I was born and raised in Luton till aged 10 so I would but mad lol
the women yellow t-shirts speaking really fast...
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍.. i couldn't understand what the people are talking.. they speak very quikly ..
If you say to an English speaker “Can you repeat that? I have trouble understanding” then hopefully they will slow down and pronounce more clearly.
By the way, which language(s) do you speak already?
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
🙏🙏🙏🙏
Can go to all saints st in was in London I whated my sister and her boyfriend weren't i.liverd but it didn't come up it the
It as 5 star pubs the stag as rated the best pub in Hastings
Thanks for the video. but the lady in yellow sounds terrible to understand. does she speak in street accent?, normally? I mean is it a nice accent to hear or speak?
Looks a lot boring I just got a job in Hastings , seems like a bad idea !
Naa it's cool go out drinking in the old salty sea dog pubs
This only covers a small area of Hastings. You did not show the real Hastings at all. It being one of the most deprived towns in England. If you had walked in Hastings you would have got a different and depressing vibe. I live hear and the only positive thing about Hastings is that it is by the Sea.
I live here your so wrong
@@fordcass4325 I live here also and my opinion hasn’t changed. Such a depressing town
@jameshoyle5918 perhaps you should move or even move along the coast a bit even just a mile or so or possibly even decide to get a sunnier disposition, or go travelling... Good luck anyway
@@fordcass4325 Yes I’m in Bangladesh. Wonderful Country
This Easy English is consistently the worst of the series. The people interviewed went to Hastings to go to Boots pharmacy and a pub?
And Easy English is "the worst" because people speak about a pharmacy and a pub?
@@MMmk1 Yes. A pharmacy and a pub when there's so much history there? I don't mind the pub that much, but what about the remains of the castle overlooking the English Channel?
Nah, it's good for ppl who want to learn the British accent, I usually like this vid because you know British are really closed as we do like that we can see their perception, even thought if they're sometimes more open than Americans
@@alicemc8774 you are an insufferable snob. The worst of the British. These people have great humour and would be great company.
I wish I could've found people who were visiting the castle and most "cultural" things... the benefit, I guess, is that you see the true nature of what Brits get upto in an everyday scenario. I think the 3 ladies who'd come down for a trip were planning to go see the castle... right after Boots and the pub :)
