  • As promised, I have a VERY special review of the legendary Devtac Ronin Helmet, in this review I examine the first of only three carbon fiber Ronins ever made as well as provide my thoughts on the Ronin's history, its potential applications and the bright future in store for Devtac.
    The Devtac Ronin are a series of airsoft and ballistic helmets made by the company Devtac Japan based in Yokohama, Japan. First developed in 2011 as a series of airsoft face masks, the Ronin's unique modular design combining scalable protection, active defogging and cooling measures with a sleek, practical and ergonomic exterior was revolutionary in full head protection and quickly made it a fan favourite amongst shooters.
    These advantages were evidently applicable to LE and military situations and production quickly shifted to the production of full kevlar ballistic helmets, earning the Ballistic Ronin a NIJ Level IIIA certification. Since then the Ronin has proven popular with private buyers and has secured limited contracts with a number of national militaries around the world, which is an astounding level of growth for a small company that originally started off making an accessory for airsofters.
    Do note that whilst the carbon fibre helmet featured in this video is purely for recreational use, its design, modularity and features are practically identical to the ballistic versions used by military and LE today.

    Gearskin on those plates would be dope.
    Though, this style of helmet seems best for CQB assaults and room clearing .
    P.S. There is plenty of in-ear active ear pro with comms out there.

    I don't know how I got here, probably Tarkov, but all I know the Mighty Maska-1 is the best helmet. Then Wendy, then ronin.

    I think they are brillant it might be able to get lvl 4 plates eventually. Since they are modular. They need to combine the helmet with augmented reality goggles. For gas they need to seal the mouth and eyes At least.

    @FLUDBUD great review I have the full ballistic version and was wondering what buckles and chin straps did you use to replace the standard ones? Thanks!

    • @fludblud
      @fludblud  3 года назад +1

      Hey I used straps from a cheap Chinese NVG skullcrusher I had from about 8 years back, the main advantage was the rubber chin pad which was far more comfortable than the tiny stap chinpad that came with the Ronin. Do note that newer Ronins probably have better straps now.

      Afraid not, only three carbon fibre Ronins were ever made and this one was the prototype for the other two.

    unfortunelty the Ronin helmets are not cheap at all and the wait time is a long time as well haha. I understand why though. I may get one for Bounty Hunting even tho I would have to spend a pretty penny to do so. Good review btw

    Does this airsoft helmet loosen or shake on head like motorcycle helmet?
    Does it stay Perfectly FIT on Head?
    Please Answer this question is really importent for me!

      It sits solid, as each helmet is made to order by hand, based on your head/face size.

    • @fludblud

      I dont think its suited for bike riding, the materials, design and integrity of a crash helmet is totally different than one made for ballistic protection.

    Can devtac ronin ballistic helmet offer a good protection just like a normal motorcycle helmet? I really love to wear it as a motorcycle helmet honestly.

    • @alexzuga7852
      @alexzuga7852 Год назад

      No, this would not make a good motorcycle helmet. The load cases and impacts of a bullet are completely different than those experienced in a motorcycle crash.

      @@kingarthur7051 Yes carbon fiber has incredible tensile strength. However it would have to be concsiderably heavier to be effective. That's why you don't see body armor plates using carbon fiber.

    How will removing a piece of a helmet going to allow for more accurate weapons manipulation?

    • @fludblud
      @fludblud  2 года назад +3

      Removing the cheek plate will allow you to have a firmer and closer cheek weld with your weapon's buttstock when shouldering it. I wouldnt consider it 100% necessary but at least the option exists.
