you answered the one question i have been searching everywhere for, the amp is in the radio on my car. I'm saved from paying hundreds for a special adapter so i can use my aftermarket one, Crutchfield was setting me up with a PAC RP4-MZ11 Wiring Interface because it was the only one that would let me use my supposive Bose amp, which they said is on all versions of the 2008 Mazda 3. and you just proved them wrong. thank you. now i can go back and use a regular $10 wire harness and upgrade that part later. if need be. but either way, thank you for this video.
hey guys, i originally filmed this for a friend, sorry for the poor video/ LOUD MUSIC but it was my first attempt many years ago and i didn't intend on helping half the world but i'm grateful that i did. for those who complain... go watch another video.. seriously! it was hard to hold a shitty galaxy s2 while removing a stereo back in the day. next time I'll invest in a camera crew with a red camera and a boom guy so we make your life slightly more comfortable. ffs.
thanks so much! you laid everything out very clearly, i appreciate you reiterating which screws were coming off/on at different steps. excited to replace my module and play cds again after leaving it broken for a couple years!
Hi from germany! Just to let you know that i'm driving a 1gen Mazda 3. The date of first registration is 10/03 so one of the really first i guess, but this car has a Mp3 Unit in it. The radio unit is 1gen because the display wiring is directly connected to radio unit itself. This makes it alot harder to replace with an aftermarket unit because this car has also an automatic A/C and a BC so you need that display for them. (I know that there a many ways to get this to work but i said it makes it harder, not that it can't be done.) Just telling you that there is a Mp3 Unit for the 1gen cars. It was shipped with it like this. :) Sorry for my bad english btw.
This was a supper heplful video, I was wondering, mine has failed because a disc has gotten stuck inside and as a result it isnt working, would i need a new cd unit or get the disc out , if so, how?
Thanks for the video mate. Unfortunately I'm with those other guys who have CDs stuck in the 6cd changer. Read your previous comment on this that need to wreck the unit to get them out. Sad times. Hey ho, bye bye CDs. Thanks again for the vid.
Hey Adam, did you get the CD's out or what happened? I have 2 CD's in there that are a part of a 70 CD set (audio book) so I'm trying to avoid wrecking anything....
Thank you so much for the video! Do you think i can put this module on a 2006 RX8? They look similar to me i think if i can plug it and screw it it might work...
Awesome guide and I thank you so much! My only question is where is the best place to purchase one of the Cd modules? Have looked around online usually only can find the entire radio unit in 1. My 6 disc changer quit working. Sounds almost like gears skipping inside the unit when trying to eject a Cd. Really would like to fix it. Thanks!
I bought a 05 Mazda 3 hatchback comfort model over a month ago. But the cd player doesn't work in the car, just keeps saying No Disc on the screen. I tried about 10 cds all clean ones, but still getting No Disc reading on the screen. The Radio is working fine though.. Should i try buying one of those cd laser lens disc cleaners you buy in stores, to see if that's the problem? Hopefully the cd unit doesn't have to be changed, lovely clean car i bought fully serviced , only fault with it, is the Cd player that the seller never told me about.. .
thanks for the video, my 04 mazda3 has a problem where the radio/cd player randomly cuts out/turns off but then turns back on intermittently. fuses are fine. going to see if the plugs are loose at the back but have you heard of similar issues?
I have same exact problem, not now the stereo never has come back on. Replaced fuses and nothing. Tried pulling it out but have zero idea. Everything is plugged in. Mine is a 2008
@@adamcrawford9016 anything is repairable but it comes down to cost. In my case i just called up a mazda wrecker and got a replacement with a 12month warranty for under $80. New one hasn't failed but from all the info i found online in various forums its a common fault. The inconsistent nature of the fault makes diagnosis and repair tricky.
Thank you for the video. May I suggest you kill the background music so we can hear your voice clearly and get a friend to hold the camera. Otherwise very informative. Thank you!
it was really a rush situation, a friend needed help so i made a video by my self, if i had someone to help, i would of had them hold the phone camera and spoken louder. will get better at it in future.
Hi, I have a 2008 Mazda 3 with the BAR366ARX head unit. The CDs cannot be rejected and I was wondering which CD module I can us as a replacement. Can I use the CD module from another model? The BAR366ARX can read CDs only. Someone said the Clarion 929037082 will work but I am not sure. Thx.
you will have to destroy your unit to remove the cd's. its sad but true, once the mechanize fails, the only way is to open it up and bend the plates upwards, removing each cd carefully.
mrjdmvtec turns out it was just a disc jam. Its setup rather strangely. Would you suggest putting it back in and trying it out? We still got three discs in there thatthe lazer reader is blocking. Cant see to move it. Obviously we have gone over a speed hump and the velocity has one of the discs it stores on the top going completely out of place and jamming the unit.
Hello , i have a serious problem : I've bought another original mazsa radio unit to repalce it with my old one which is without a cd or and media botton .. the problem is that the new one comes with an additional cabel for the display screen , which doesn't existe im my car ... IN other meaning is it possible to change form unit TYPE 1 to TYPE 2 ? and if it's possible how can we made the additional cable Do have any solution for this problem please ? thanks for helping
My CD player displays the message No disc. My Mazda dealer reckons it's a common problem caused by usage of home burned CDs rather than purchased CDs as copy CDs are thicker and therefore more likely to jam?
your dealership is stupid. they will say anything to pass blame, they are not electronic technicians. the manufacturing of this cd player can be from one of multiple companies. some are made by clarion, others by panasonic and so on. some older 90's gen cd players did have a problem with the laser pickup on burnt cd's only because in the early 90's, there was no burnt cds and the laser pickup didn't have the correct power/focus on those cd's. this was long before the mazda 3. if your mazda displays no disc, its either a. the laser is worn and not seeking the index track or b. the motor is rotating or getting up to speed. these are the common problems among cd players.
Hi mrjdmvtec I have a mazda 3 2004 with the radio of a single CD, I bought a unit of a mazda 3 2008, apparently it is the systems BOSE, the model is No.14793778 and the part number is No. BAS4 66 ARX ( KA300). I tried to change the entire unit, but I ran into a problem, the screen of my radio is connected to the front panel, as well as the unit shown in the video, and the screen of the BOSE unit is connected to the harness that is connected To the radio, similar to the other unit that showed you in the video, I want to know if I can or if there is any way to install that unit in my car. I would greatly appreciate your help mrjdmvtec.
are the single disc units and six disc units interchangeable on a 07 mazda 3, both are none Bose units ? i have been told they can't be swapped as it will ask for a code when putting in a 6 disc unit.
yes you can upgrade from single to 6 disc, as long as you change the entire cd player, not just the stacker inside. in australia we don't have codes on our units, i imagine it would be the same for all country's.
All I wanna know is why my radio would stop working The deck still lights up and shows the temperature outside but that's it it will not turn on can someone please tell me why this is
There is another video on youtube that may answer your question apparently you can disable the radio by a combination of Power button and a sequence of buttons on the unit. good luck
I agree, this could and should have been done totally sans music. We open to view this to learn something, NOT to be musically entertained. Bad blunder on the part of the creator!

the parts are not interchagable, however you could use a whole series 2 unit in a series 1 if you make a adapter for the lcd.

can a single CD module be swapped out for a 6 cd module (non mp3)
I just did so yes, but watch video for Bose impact mine was not a BOSE so it was a straight swap series 2 - series 2 single to 6 CD
please do you know how to reset this radio as is it your video if has been 3 times given wrong code and now is showing err which means error

The music in the FOREGROUND is really irritating and has nothing to do with the video except audio camouflage!
