TunerCarFan I've got an '09 too and love it but the sound system isn't that great (I transferred my speakers, subs, and amps from my old vehicle, it blows most everything out of the water). The thing I love about my Mazda is that after having had a 4x4 truck it, I gotta say it does absolutely amazing in the snow when you turn off DSC and put it into manual mode,
I have a 2011 Mazda 3 that's a beater/daily for me after my dad put 200 thousand miles on it and he has also only done basic maintenance on the car so most of the car is still factory but it still runs and drives amazing, I'm also surprised i havnt blown the speakers
Just got a secondhand Mazda 1.6L V 2007. At it's 82k mileage which is fantastic! Exterior and interior is superb! I really want to meet the original owner to give my appreciation!
This video was actually quite helpful when I test drove a Mazda 3 because it show'd me how to change region settings (like to Celsius, like the rest of the world uses) and to test speakers, check compartments, check signal strength, check if anything was stuck in the hand brake. So it helped me decide to buy my 2007 Mazda 3. Thanks!
The original title of the video was "How to annoy a Mazda3 owner", and it turns out most viewers did get annoyed. I later changed the title to something less likely to cause complaints.
I've had a 3 since 2007 and it runs great. Did a two week, 3k-mile road trip in it last May from FL to Memphis, Louisville, Chicago, Wisconsin, Iowa, Arkansas, Missippi and a couple other states I don't remember. Ran like a champ even when I had to take a detour on a dirt road that looked like it hadn't been maintained since Noah's Flood. Love my car, even with its quirks. And I'm fond of telling people a Mazda is just a Ford that runs.
@@ethancooley9323and I just drove mine for 150km on a damaged battery just on an alternator, scared I’ll destroy electrical components but I arrived just fine in the night. Amazing car.
I used to watch you as a kid. I remember vaguely you had your own radio station setup in your backyard that played all your songs from a pc when you went grocery shopping. I recently bought a Mazda 3 sport as a daily driver to keep miles off my Infinitis and I was looking for audio upgrade videos and found this one. Small world when it comes to the internet I see.
There is also a cassette player for the Mazda3 but it is extremely rare. It goes in the space between the knobs that says "Multi Function Audio System." Behind that panel is a blank space for either the cassette player or MiniDisc player (even more rare!) accessory.
The Celsius to Fahrenheit button combination doesn't seem to work for Australia/New Zealand Mazda3 models for some reason. Most of the other hidden features work though...
It never ceased to amaze me that people watch a video called "How to annoy a Mazda3 owner", and then complain because they get annoyed by it! Isn't that the whole point!?
I have been watching YT for years now. I have never laughed at a video like this in a long time. The amount of comments is astounding. All about a Mazda 3.
Mazda and ford have worked together for years... its not like anyone tried to hide that fact. Ford had a 33% stake in the company. For example a ford ranger is simply a mazda b3000 and vice versa. However, ford no longer owns that 33% and mazdas are now 100% manufactured, assembled, and shipped from japan.
Had mine done qt the dealer while the car was in for a recall.. because fck crawling around under the glovebox and breaking/shorting out the sensor, some stealership mechanic got to experience that bit of "fun".
Funny stuff, thanks. The MOST annoying thing about my '08 3 is changing the oil. The cutout in the under plastic panel doesn't match the position of the oil filter. So, you have to drop the entire tray to take the filter off. Stinks for a car of this caliber. I had to rectify it myself with my trusty Dremel tool. Loosing and breaking some clips and screws in the process.
I miss my Mazda3. I miss the orange glow, the way those lights move when you change the volume, I miss its styling, its interior colours, its sportyness... Some guy drove into the back of me and it got written off. I have a Tribute now, so I have a lot more head room and a better seat, but it's not the same.
I have a 2008 Mazda 3, with a 2.3L engine. In addition to the Ford markings on the dipstick, I also found it on the fuse box under the glove compartment. Two big annoyances for me are the difficulty in replacing the cabin filters and the PCV valve. I can just remove the filters and not replace them, but I'll almost certainly be paying a mechanic to change the PCV valve.
Neat trick with the RF signal meter. I'll have to keep that in mind. I'm a broadcast engineer and sometimes it'd be nice for me to know whether or not one of my stations is coming in wonky because tropospheric ducting is making another station come in on top of it, or if I'm just plain too far away. My 6 probably has the same diagnostic options tucked away in there.
I am american, mine is a manual and I read out 24 hours on my watch. I don't really use celsius but I know roughly the equivalents. I'm not stupid. I'm also texan though not just american. Yes texas is a country. Lol
When this first generation came out, the competition such as the corolla had nothing to say about this. This cemented Mazda in my country (the first mazda was a (BG 323). it was ahead of its time.
Although my 2009 is by far the WORST car I've ever owned for winter driving, (Ohio) it has been one of the BEST as far as being trouble-free. 30-40 MPG, cheap to insure, can hold its own on the highway, everything still works, no major failures (yet). Just change the oil and do routine maintenance, and it's good as gold.

I've lost so many things in the extra large glove compartment (Also fun fact, the Ford actually licensed their Duratec from the Mazda one!) (Also it's always the FoMoCo parts that break lol)
Yes, a lot of modern car radios have these diagnostic features. I just wish there was some way to adjust the stereo blend; this radio plays most FM stations in mono (even when the "ST" is lit) unless the signal is very, very strong. On my VW's radio I found a trimmer on the back to adjust it, and I turned it all the way down so that even weak FM stations play in stereo.
Hey guys, I have mazda 3 2007 1.6di. I need to turn off spraying headlights, do You someone know where i can turn it off? Because it splash all of my car
@TheYoooth When it starts pouring rain (like it did in this video) and you need to close your car's windows quickly, then yes, needing to find, insert, and turn your ignition key is an unnecessary annoyance and delay. It would be much better if all cars with power windows let you open or close all the windows simply by holding the key in the unlock or lock position in the driver's door, like you can do on Volkswagens, but most other brands do not have this feature.
wazz up, i have a prob on my mazda 3, i cannot see the aux system on the radio screen. where can i find it. i already install aux cable kit, and nothings happened. please help. thanks

Haha, now I really want to get a Mazda3 when I get my licence. The things that I don't understand are the features where all the indicators on the radio come on, and the alternating speaker thing.
At 3:39, the right most side of the display (with the temperature and climate control) is not showing, but it was showing throughout the video in other parts. How do you turn this feature on and off? Thanks!
Thanks for the response! If I put mine in accessory mode with engine shut off, that part of the screen doesn't display anything for me (ie temp) and it also doesn't display anything while I am driving either. How can I turn that part on so it shows temp, climate control setting, etc, while the vehicle is on? I can't figure it out for the life of me (I just bought a used 2004 mazda 3 a few days ago). Thanks in advance for your help!
I'm pretty sure its a base model but it does have AC. Does any other portion of that side of the display work then, like the climate control settings even though its a base model?
It's been years since I owned the car so I don't remember all the details, but I'm pretty sure in the older model years of the Mazda3, the temperature display was only offered on the high-end trim levels. Eventually they added it to all except the lowest trim level.
The radio in my 2011 Mazda2 has the same signal strength meter by holding down the power button + the 2 preset, so it probably works on a lot of Mazda radios.
@bizzle187 Are you really that insecure!? "Gay vibes" are determined by the car's owner, not by the car itself. After all, I know gay guys who drive Mustangs and Camaros and pickup trucks. We just drive whatever vehicle we like best, and I suggest you do the same.
hi I'm mehmet. I watched from turkey 2005 Mazda 3 has told me I could not understand for the lower yazsin selections. Can you translate it into Turkish? thanks ..
I like the Versa. For the price you can't beat the amount of interior room it has. I drove one of the $9990 base models and was really impressed. It's tuned more for comfort than sportiness, but still not a bad ride -- better than a Corolla or Cobalt, that's for sure. The Mazda3 is based on the same platform as the Volvo S40 and European Ford Focus, and you can really feel the Euro influence in the way it drives, compared to Mazda's previous Japanese engineered models.
@TheYoooth If all cars had power windows as good as Volkswagen, then I would not be complaining. In addition to the open/close via driver's door key feature I mentioned, VW also gives you auto-down on all four windows, and 15 minutes of retained accessory power after you turn off the ignition. Mazda and most other brands only give you auto-up/down on the driver's window, and only about 30 seconds of retained accessory power (again, for the driver's window only).
They've come a long way since the Autoalliance-built '93-'02 Mazda 626... which were engineered to last no more than 60,000 miles... otherwise, how do you like your 3?
You can buy a gadget that plugs it onto the 12v/cigarrette connector and by radiofrequence you can listen the music in your radio Pd: sorry for my english 😅
@CustomCars100 If you take off the center console trim cover, you should be able to retrieve some of it. It's not difficult, you just unscrew the shift knob, and then you can pull it up and out.
I owned a 2008.5 Mazdaspeed 3. Fun car. Had an issue with the stereo where a certain volume level, bass is cut off. Mazda finally admitted it was an issue and updated the firmware, but still required the entire stereo to be replaced. No issues since. Decent sounding for a non-Bose model.
Oerg866 It’s pretty common, you just don’t hear about all of them because they don’t all masturbate to the thought of being superior to other drivers. Dilusions of grandeur. STFU.
My name is Andrew and I'm totally superior to other driver, especially those named Lewis. On another note, the bit about the annoyance of coins sliding into the parking brake slot is the truth. I'm not sure how many coins have been lost in mine, but it's quite a few.
I just bought one, Tuesday this week.. wicked stereo.. bit frustrating to discover no Aux input or USB option far as the radio options Go.. but it did come with a 6stacker cd player.. so I guess today I'm back to the old days of Burning making new music disc's

+vwestlife The best hidden feature is putting the radio on a AM frequency. The static will match the engine rev. Give it a try if you still have that car.
wow I was given a Mazda Axela by my Sister a few weeks ago they've had for like 9 years brought It new and the car never went over 120km. neways I was looking for the treble and bass on the car stereo....thanks for showing the other hidden features 🙂
Pretty disappointed when I found out ford was backing mazda but I've had my 3 for a few months and I do like alot about the car. Looks and sounds good has decent pedal response. But suspension is terrible and they rust
Oh yeah! Well the 2010 and above radio has a huge tuner dial straight smack in the middle and a small volume dial to the lower left. So for the first few weeks you are constantly changing the station instead of lowering the volume to hear something or someone in a hurry. Do people really change their station that much where you need a supersized dial? I thought that is what presets are for.

I was gonna ask but how do you get the aircorn display to turn on?
That's only on models with automatic climate control.
Do this car have a USB port for music?
Some do.
VWestlife 😎👍🏼
@CustomCars100 If you take off the center console trim cover, you should be able to retrieve some of it. It's not difficult, you just unscrew the shift knob, and then you can pull it up and out.
I owned a 2008.5 Mazdaspeed 3. Fun car. Had an issue with the stereo where a certain volume level, bass is cut off. Mazda finally admitted it was an issue and updated the firmware, but still required the entire stereo to be replaced. No issues since. Decent sounding for a non-Bose model.
I FOUND ONE !!! An american driving a stick shift..... Brings a tear to the eye :')
Oerg866 Hey I live in the U.S. and drive a stick lol 😁
I want to buy one too. What about noise inside when going ~120km/h?
it drives great on high ways
i have 929 from 87. i get annoyed just thinking about it. only hidden features it has, is rust hiding under the paint and illuminated door lock.
On my mazda 3 the AC seems to stay on, any idea how to turn it off?
Pushing the button doesn't work? Sorry, I don't have this car anymore so I'm not an expert on it.
VWestlife the button works, but it still shows the symbol on the trip computer and I can still feel heat coming from vents. Thanks for replying.
haha my car does the same, it's the heat leaking from engine somehow.
Interesting. A lot of these hidden commands sound like debug techniques
thanks youtube for recommending this to me 11 years after.
Hey man ,
I need your help please I have Mazda 3 1.6L z6 engine there are a sensor in the intake manifold the sticker on it says boost sensor it's on the right of the car.
it has a vacuum hose short one not connect to any thing is it normal ?
Please need help !!!
Are you able to display your mpg?
Not on the low-end Sport model. Only on the higher trim levels.
How did you discover those hidden features? By playing around with the radio?
Omar Crisante They are documented on the Mazda3 forums.
+vwestlife The best hidden feature is putting the radio on a AM frequency. The static will match the engine rev. Give it a try if you still have that car.
+vwestlife also for Eu Version ?
wow I was given a Mazda Axela by my Sister a few weeks ago they've had for like 9 years brought It new and the car never went over 120km. neways I was looking for the treble and bass on the car stereo....thanks for showing the other hidden features 🙂
How can I activate the degrees if they appear off? please help
What is "orange mamal"? 0:34
Pretty disappointed when I found out ford was backing mazda but I've had my 3 for a few months and I do like alot about the car. Looks and sounds good has decent pedal response. But suspension is terrible and they rust
My mazda 3 doesn't have temputure display . How do i enable it?
@KIERANS1993 Yes... I lick the other side of the stamp.
@allboutk A decade ago, Ford owned 1/3rd of Mazda, but since then they've sold off some of their share.
Same with the accords. Lol
Carnage 50X True that! My family used to have a 2007 Honda Accord and the radio is almost as same as the Mazda-3...
I actually found this video helpful to find different hidden features on my car xD
Dude the glove compartment is def big af lol
damn that mazda 3 is so clean it's making me happy ;) most people keep their cars in a filthy state
