The thing I love about these videos is not only the honest opinions good and bad but if you watched the daily videos even with the bad things like the small seats and small showers you see just how beautiful the Princess ship is and just how much the two of you enjoyed your cruise ! Thank y’all so much for allowing us to travel along with you . Please keep it up #locafam

We cruised with Royal Carribean to the Western Carribean and they did time changes too. I agree that adjusting to that many time changes is pretty rough. I'll be taking my first Carnival Cruise in May to the Southern Carribean, excited to see how that goes.

We did a cruise (Celebrity) from Florida, through the Panama Canal and down to Chile... a year or so ago...and had a few time changes... my opinion is that the clock on the ship should match the clock in the port. Changing clocks/watches is a pain.... but far less of a pain than missing the last tender because you thought you had another hour at Senor Frogs!
Also... changing an hour a day is far better than changing two or three hours every two or three days. Disrupts your daily sleep/wake cycle a lot less.

We have done the Western Caribbean out of Florida on Carnival and no, the time did not change. Ship time stayed the same!

When I did Roatan and Cozumel cruise, we changed times before arrive in Roatan and when we left. Roatan is on Central standard time and Cozumel is on Eastern standard time. This was week after Thanksgiving. The other cruises you did, the on;y time you would've had to change was going fom Mobile to Key West. But that was spur of the moment port, so they didn't bother because you'd been thru enough from the first day.

I went on the Caribbean Princess the week before you all did. I was the same way about the ice coffee as I don't drink hot coffee and it took me a few days to figure out that if I got two shots of espresso over ice I would then add my own cream and it was perfect. I loved a lot of things but I found it a very slow pace and very geared to older people compared to Royal Caribbean. For this reason I don't know if I will ever go on another Princess Cruise if I have my choice between them and another cruise line. I did not find the entertainment was something I wanted to see. The best was the movies under the stars and the TV movies.

Princess is my favorite cruise line.I'm taking the Caribbean Princess in November. After hearing your complaints, I think the only thing that will affect me is the walking deck.I love to get up early and walk laps for 30 minutes.Having to inhale cigarette smoke while doing so is very unpleasant.I may have to do the treadmill instead.I am a coffee drinker.I've never had an issue making my own iced coffee on any cruise ship.Happy Travels.

Just started watching youtube and found your channel so I have been watching your videos. I am a Princess exclusive cruiser so of course I gravitated to your Princess videos. I do not have an issue with the shower or theater seats, but I do see how people could take issue with their sizes. I feel, just like the airplanes, changes need to be made to be more accommodating for people. I have cruised in Princess mini suites and they have a tub/shower combo and it is much bigger than the inside, ocean view, and balcony cabins. I have also cruised in their several suites and those bathrooms have a large shower as well as a tub/shower combo.

Fair enough!! None of those things actually apply to me!! I don’t smoke - so I prefer non-smoking areas everywhere!! I will gladly sit in a Princess theater seat (even when I was fluffy) over an airplane seat!! I like the theaters on Princess - just as comfortable as a movie theater!
I don’t need pizza on a cruise at all! I can eat pizza at home - I prefer different foods, things I don’t eat at home & if I did want pizza on Princess at night - I ordered it through room service (I think they charged $5.00 for a while pie delivered to my cabin that I could share with my cabin mates - and available almost all night - I think there are only 4 hrs (maybe 12:30 -4:30-- am) that room service wasn’t available- but I could get a nice panini sandwich at the International Cafe!! And since I’m a Platinum cruiser on Princess - I got free WiFi all week & could log on to FB or RUclips & not worry about logging out of the Princess WiFi. Just wondering- did you guys get to visit the Internet Cafe onboard?? I have found the crew who works there are really helpful & if I did need something printed (which i needed if I was flying & had to print my boarding pass), I could use the computers in the Internet Cafe!!
Once again - I think all the things you mentioned were negatives for you - the shower is small - but I always book a larger cabin & have a larger shower with handheld shower head- because Princess provides a shower bench so I can sit & shower - or I do go to the spa & the beautiful, large glass showers!! I remember my early days of cruising - the showers were the size of telephone booths - sometimes enclosed, not a shower curtain! That was tricky, although I felt safe - if I slipped, I’d hit the wall before the floor!! I don’t drink milk - not even chocolate milk (you might have been able to get chocolate syrup from the Swirls & mix it with milk- make your own chocolate milk.
I think Princess stopped the self serve soft ice cream machines for health reasons (I watched so many children & adults pull out a bunch of cones - drop them & put them back in the sleeve - or get ice cream on their hand, lick their hand - then touch the handle of the ice cream machine again!! YUCK!! On my last cruise - I really liked the gelato shop (even paying a little extra)!
And even tho I do love the International Cafe - my one thing I didn’t like was trying to carry a few small plates & find a table to sit at without spilling anything - including my beverage!! Trays would be so nice!

Hey Tony and Jenny, I am really loving being part of your cruise community. Just an idea about the shower situation, would you guys consider booking a handicap accessible room? I'm a smoker as well, I know bad addiction...but i dislike the smell of smoke. I would have to sit in the nonsmoker section of the bingo hall because it would be so overwhelming with smoke. So, I appreciate a smoking section that keeps my vice from nonsmokers as well as being an area that is well ventilated. And Tony, coffee...is the best. I am totally with you. It's my drink of choice...no time of the day is a bad time for coffee. I'll take it hot, cold, whatever. But it better be good. Thanks guys I appreciate the input

Just got off the carnival panorama last week. You start off in long beach and ship time is pacific time. When you get to Mazatlan, you switch to mountain time. Then when you go to Puerto Vallarta, you switch to Central time. Then that night on your way back home, the time changes back to pacific time, so over night you go back 2 hours.

I know you made this video several years ago, but Princess now has MedallionNet on many of its ships including the Caribbean Princess. I used this on the Regal Princess and it was reasonably priced and consistently fast. I would book Princess over other cruise lines just for MedallionNet (RCL internet was inexpensive but was much slower or non-existant on our Alaska cruise.)
We've had time changes on NCL, Princess and RCL so perhaps the ships time policy is unique to Carnival. BTW, I agree with your Princess likes in your other video. The Voice of the Sea got us to watch "The Voice" on TV. ;-)

La Lido Loca I love Primula products. I have 2 of theirs and one Bodum (French press for cold brew). The Primula pitchers are available at Target and Walmart as well as Amazon. I have the Burke model for home use and the “on the go” bottle for travel. The on the go bottle has 2 ends that unscrew. One is a standard bottle lid, the other fits on the bottom and has a mesh coffee filter in it. You simply fill the mesh basket, screw the lid on, add water to the other end. Place the bottle in the fridge and shake a little occasionally. After 12 to 24 hours, invert the bottle and remove the filter. Rinse the bottom and shake to stir. (Add your other ingredients of choice and carry it with you.). It comes with a neoprene sleeve to help keep your coffee cold.

We were on the Emerald Princess to Alaska the same week you were in the Caribbean. I thought the Caribbean Princess looked beautiful. The Emerald had the same kind of lay out and I have to say I don't think it mattered what size a person is, those showers were snug (we had a balcony room) and I'm 5 ft and lets say small but not tiny. Although I did go to the casino a couple of times I didn't even notice anyone smoking - we had a great time. I think you are correct about the theatre seats too - we were comfortable but can understand the frustration of others who were not - everyone should be able to attend the theatre no matter what.

Tip for iced coffee - make your own, for free! I, too am a big iced coffee drinker, and while, no, it's not going to be as good as a cold brew or something like that from DD or Starbucks, making your own is a totally doable, and not terrible, option. Bring your own larger tumbler-type cup, fill it pretty full with ice, add in your creamer, sugar, etc., of choice (on Carnival, I've heard of people using the self-serve ice cream! Need to try that next time), then pour in your coffee. Boom. Free iced coffee! :)

Yah, the time changes are a pain, but they do that so when you're off the ship the clocks you see ashore will match ships time and it makes it less likely you'll miss the ship and get left behind. Having said THAT, I still prefer the ship to remain on the originating port time. Carnival never changes ship time and I always put my phone on airplane mode when I'm cruising so it never updates automatically, hence I'm ALWAYS on ship time.

I think of the things you mentioned, the time changes would drive us crazy, but at least we are aware they do that and won't be surprised when we go. Carnival does not change the time when you go on a Western Caribbean cruise, ship time is the time whatever port you leave from is and it stays that way no matter where you are.

Imagine a cruise from California to Hawaii...theres a three hour time difference. If the ship didnt change times you'd be getting up for breakfast 3 hours before the sun came up. Or...they'd be serving dinner at 11 pm ship time and you'd have to mentally remember the time difference when u were ashore in Hawaii. I'd rather deal with the pain of changing the clock every day for three days.

I only drink i have is ice coffee from wake up to sleep time. So i make my easy feestyle. 5 packets of equal. About 3 tsp instant coffee. Found maxwell house disolves the best. And low fat milk. You won't taste the difference. Stir till coffee disoved. Add tons of ice. Depending on the size of your cup add or cut back. A couple drops of vanilla syrup or a blob of hersey or some caramel syrup mixes it up. So grab your instant coffee and hit the milk machine. All you want for free. Happy drinking. Ps you can make a slurry of instant coffee and a little water and you don't have coffee bits. I find them exciting.

I’ve dealt with time changes ever since I started Cruising and since I always go on shore excursions- I preferred following the time of the port I was in (and with iPhones now - they change automatically when on airplane mode)! When I’m on the ship - I don’t worry about the time (hardly ever see a clock)!! And I’m also used to flying and having to change to different time zones!!

Norwegian changes ship time when you travel to Bermuda; Bermuda is one hour ahead of US East Coast Time. Norwegian also charged extra for milk unless it was in the buffet at breakfast; the buffet did not have chocolate milk, neither hot nor cold.

The showers on some ships are tiny even if you are of a normal size. I believe all the cruise lines I have taken in the Caribbean (carnival/princess/cunard/azamara) changed their clocks to island time (a few islands stay on standard time all year long) Try doing a cruise from Istanbul to Dubai...I totally lost track of what the time was and in the Red Sea we zigzagged a bit and changed our time every day for 4 days!!

Some adds to the did-not-like list.
    1) Skywalkers lounge (deck 18) is for calm weather only - it rolls with the ship and you can get queasy.
    2) Getting into the theater is a mob scene - we gave up on getting into shows.
    3) Interior spaces get packed during inclement weather.
    4) Outside spaces are too brightly lit for good star gazing.
Again, none of these are fatal flaws.

Wow. Thanks for doing this video. I was concerned. But: we don’t smoke, we are a healthy weight (short legs too 😂), I don’t eat dairy products (pizza, ice cream, chocolate milk). I already knew about the slow internet - $10 a day unlimited, but not expecting decent speeds. I’m with you in the iced coffee, Tony. I understand I can get iced coffee with non-dairy milk. I’ll make my own, if necessary. Sorry for you guys, but I’m relieved.

24 hour Pizza vs International Cafe ... I prefer the variety of choices that the International Cafe offers. And now that Princess has the Medallion Class Internet onboard, the speed is off the charts!! I clocked 80 Mbps download and 110 Mbps upload; compared to my disappointment on the Carnival Sunshine this past January [speeds that reminded me of dial-up service], Princess takes the cake! I tried for two days to download an audio book, and after an hour or so, I’d just give up. Finally went to a Starbucks in Curaçao where I downloaded in under 10 minutes. The Carnival Internet Cafe manager DID give me a refund/credit for the ‘wasted’ time, so it wasn’t too bad!

Yes, the seats in the theatre are a bit of a pain. You have to get there early. Of course you get there early, get a seat a few seats in from the aisle and just before the show starts fluffy people want to sit in the center. If you don't stand up to let them by you get your nose rubbed by their butts. Of course I always stand to let people by, but is a tight squeeze.

We just got back from our first cruise ever on the Royal Princess. I watched all your videos and was still unprepared for some of the inconveniences on the ship. Stuff I did not love on the RP
First Calling guest services was always an exercise in patience every call any time of the day or night we were put on hold for no less than 10 minutes. This included getting our soda package delivered took almost til the end of the first day so, guess what? we had to pay for cokes in the buffet because we still hadn't gotten our prepaid sodas.
The internet cafe and medallion booth only were staffed during specific hours which was inconvenient for when we needed help.
We truly did not like any of the desserts in the buffet and they're the same desserts they stock in the International Cafe. We kept trying them all hoping we would find a gem but never had that luck. We finally gave up on the buffet and ate exclusively in the MDRs.
The fun Pub Lunch? ICK. I had the steak and kidney pie which tasted unclean or something. I'm sure it was the kidney chunks that threw me off but yuck. My hubs had the fish and chips which were oil soaked, soggy and super bland. Really really terrible. The Pub lunch was completely uneaten and we just left.
Same with the gelatto we were completely undewhelmed. Good thing it wasn't expensive but it sure wasn't worth the calories.
By day 4 of our 5 day cruise we finally discovered the only bar on the ship that poured a decent drink the Crown Bar at the Crown Grill. We wondered if we were just eating too much food to feel the effects of the alcohol we were consuming but after discovering the Crown Bar we knew that the other bars were just pouring VERY WEAK drinks. And I promise, we're not heavy drinkers at all! Too bad we discovered this almost at the end of the week.
There were lots and lots and LOTS of things we did love about the Royal Princess but this post was just about the things we didn't love. We are now HOOKED on cruising!! Y'all keep doing the Lord's work! :)

we've always found desserts to enjoy on both regal and royal ships (not everything will be to everyone's taste ALL the time) and the desserts change everyday and generally aren't repeated during a seven day cruise, the gelato was great, and we enjoyed the british themed pub lunches of bangers and mash or the fish and chips, altho we avoided kidney pie as I'm not a fan of organ meat. Never had a problem with the drinks and experimented with a bunch of different alcoholic beverages (blender drinks, wines, mixed drinks) as we booked when princess did promotions for free booze package and free internet, free specialty dining, free room upgrade, etc.

Have to agree with you on all these dislikes.... I love choco milk. I just assumed nobody had flavoured milk. The wifi is bad (although we do get it for free, so I guess we shouldn't complain). Yes, and the iced coffee is bad. (however I find it difficult to get a good ice coffee anywhere.) As for the showers we have found that they do vary a little bit from room to room. We generally get an inside room and they can be a bit squeezy.

Ship time can change as you move through time zones. For short voyages, the captain has the option. I am a non-smoker so I am glad there is less smoking allowed on ships. Princess theatre seats are fine, I can easily fall asleep. The showers are small but are larger on the Royal class ships. I am 6'4" 220 pounds and can shower no problem. If this is your biggest complaint, life is pretty good. As noted, the internet speed is amazing now. Specialty coffees are available on the ship. One of the comments is incorrect, water, regular coffee and teas, lemonade, iced tea, hot chocolate, chocolate milk in the dining room, and juices at breakfast are included in your cruise fare.

All valid points. I hope you don’t get a bunch of hate for the smoking thing. Although we all in your tribe really adore you Jenny. So if you do, just know you’re the bees knees, and we want you not only around a long time, but enjoying that time...
The fact that you are being treated like a third rate citizen because you DO smoke is unacceptable. #youpaidyourmoney!
I hope someone from The Cruise lines sees your video, because the inconsiderate factor is high.
Why are humans treated different then an other animal. Let’s take dogs for example:
We have tiny tea cup size, Great Pyrenees, jack Russell, St Bernard’s etc. but to expect each human to fit in the same mold in the theater for example is inexcusable. I imagine the handicapped accessible is crap too. I hope the pluses out weighed the minuses, esp. with the internet 👿

Extra pizza, ice cream, chocolate milk and smoking nix on all for personal benefit. Internet has been upgraded, Europeans don't ice coffee (but now available. Your short term decisions to lose weight could become long term. Time changes are common; do you fly coast-to-coast? Cells auto-change time zones when turned on for data. Take specialty teas and cocoa gourmet packets and ask for glasses of ice to create your own strength and flavor of iced teas and coffee; ask for hot milk and make your own cocoas or chocolate milks.
