    Note that anything marked "manual" means it won't start unless some program starts it. Disabling ActiveX when it's manual and not running already is just breaking things unnecessarily.

    • @OopsWhatIMeantToDo
      @OopsWhatIMeantToDo 2 месяца назад

      Yes, but a scheduled task could start it w/out you realizing. Disable also stops scheduled task.

    • @darrennew8211
      @darrennew8211 2 месяца назад +1

      @@OopsWhatIMeantToDo Right. And that could break whatever that task was supposed to do, if it was actually necessary to the program running. (For example, a VPN program might launch the service that does the encryption and such when you connect the VPN, which would fail if you disabled it.) You can also wind up with desktop-launched programs starting support services.

      That’s true but when u turn ur pc off it is still taking in electric same with manual just acts like a resistor but still adds pressure

    I would guess that 'Manual' means the service isn't running until it's called upon to run. If I'm right then disabling it is likely to make virtually no difference at all. Disabling the print spooler is not advisable because one day - when you've forgotten that you disabled it; and how you disabled it - and you try to print you'll tear your hair out in frustration as to why printing doesn't work.

    • @EasyTechGeek
      @EasyTechGeek  6 месяцев назад

      You can always come and activate print spool services. Most of the users don't use laptop desktop for printing.

    • @kychemclass5850

      @@EasyTechGeek Yes. It can always be enabled again but my point was: Many will forget about it and how to activate it again. Anyway, thanks for the info in the video. It's always nice to see content that educates ordinary end-users as to how to gain more control over their computer.

      Additionally certain windows updates will disable the print-spooler. But if like me. While I do not have a standard printer anymore... I do have a label printer. disabling the print spooler always makes me think my printer is broke

    Useless info as most of the services he disabled were NOT running (manually started as needed) and therefore wouldn't effect performance of the system.

      I'm noticing people are obsessed with "optimizing" Windows and getting the amount of running processes as low as possible. Chris Titus has a video where he got the processes down to 40, which is just absurd. You're gimping Windows and its functionality so much by disabling everything. Most of those processes don't even use any CPU time.

Look into VPN's and VM's (virtual machines) and Linux Mint, which looks and acts a lot like regular Windose (it is a pun), but without all the bloat and spyware.
