I’ve had mine for almost 4 years, purchased in Europe. I liked it so much I brought it back to the US, purchased a voltage converter. I moved back to europe AND brought this machine back in it own luggage (🤣), friends thought I was crazy, but told them this makes the best coffee hands down. I’ve had zero issues and use it multiple times a day. Best coffee ever! 😊
I’ve watched several videos on this machine and hands down yours was the best. That is pretty stupid how small the tray is to set a big latte mug on. Thanks for a great video
So, I'm a former NYer and just freaken LOVED hearing a voice from home! We ordered the S8 last night and expect delivery in 5 sub-par coffee days (our Breville burr grinder is breaking so the coffeemaker is making tan water - ugh). Thanks for walking me through the set up, etc. Lavazza is good coffee, as is Julius Meinl Prasidente, but I still prefer La Colombe Monaco or Sumatra beans (via subscription - roasted in PA and shipped). OMG, as I drink this swamp water, early in the morning with the house still asleep, I am PINING for a cuppa anything made with the S8! Subscribed!
I'm currently looking for a new coffee machine and RUclips recommended your video and I'm glad I clicked on it. Thank you for the detailed video and your dedication.
I’ve had mine 2 years now and we really are in love with it. The drawback is the milk froth is sub par. To the point of we don’t drink milk drinks anymore but the coffee drinks are A+
I’ve watched a lot of videos about espresso machines… gotta say, yours is one of the best! Biggest gripe with these “fully automatic” machines is that the cleaning and maintenance. Not so fricking automatic. Very annoying and costly proprietary maintenance supplies too.
I got mine second hand near new condition , it was purchased with all these extras, and then the people moved and their new home came with built in coffee machine and so they put their Jura up for sale and I was able to upgrade my 14 year old entry level Jura to the Jura s8 and I love it 🖤☕️ but could justify for me to buy at new for 3000 au dollars but 1400 au was more like it
Have you tried the ground coffee feature. I just got my S8 yesterday and love the expresso. The wife wanted decaf expresso so I used the ground coffee feature twice and noticed a large amount of dry ground coffee way back at the end of the tray of my machine. Am I doing something wrong or is there a part missing ? Thoughts ? BTW, awesome video. You covered everything the manual appeared to be short on.
I just got a Jura S8 and am wondering the same question...did you ever figure it out? I have a Capresso Infinity Burr Conical grinder (not the best for espresso I've found out), and it has 16 grind settings from extra fine (which I numbered as #1), fine, medium, and coarse (#16). Manual says not to use too fine a ground...any help you could give would be greatly appreciated. Happy New Year!
Thanks, Hondapilot! I’ve been experimenting and after grinding decaf, I weigh it and put 16g in bypass doser and after espresso is made, I observe puck and it’s consistency and remove drip tray to see how much if any ground coffee falls in the back…once I decide on a setting I’ll let you know…for now we have S8 set on third from finest setting…
@@danachiu2714 I ultimately found by trial and error that if I poured 2 scoops of my ground coffee in the chute slowly using the provided scoop, it worked. If I dumped the coffee into the chute fast, it did not end well. It's pretty similar to what you ended doing. Thanks for the tip !
Cleaning is super simple. I recommend at night leaving the tray out about 2-3 inches so it can air out. I heard others say it gets humid and builds up coffee and possibly mold. I have no issues like that.
Can reduce the number of small tablets for the amount of water used. As you do throw away unused water, so why put 1 push of the black button, when cleaning the milk section?
Excellent review well done thank you very much. I have just purchased the new model E8 2023. Let’s see how that will work. Highly appreciated. Excellent review
Tell me I'm wrong. But this looks like a pain to continue maintaining for someone who wants a great latte while at home? This is the second video I've seen that the time and effort to clean is almost as long as it is to make the coffee, if not more.
@@DH-qz2sojust got this machine a couple of weeks ago, got it for 1400 Australian dollars, second hand one owner and had been service and came with all these extra people got it and then decided to get a built in one so they didn’t need the Jura. Anyway it’s a beauty and I love it. Own a Jura before again got it on sale and it lasted 14 years still going but decided to up grade. 🖤☕️
Informative & entertaining 🤪 Had an old Ena model, now looking to upgrade to the E8, UNTIL I viewed your S8. I make mostly cappuccini, so the side placement of the frother is out! My beautiful cappuccino cups would not fit on the side of tray. The only thing left is the Z10, but I had better check out reviews on its milk froth quality carefully.
Great overview! Thanks! Returned ours since I did not see any improvement over the S9 one touch. They added gimmicky touchscreen and jacked up the price :(
New sub from south Western Australia and I love your review and this is fab machine, got it near new for 1400 and it came with tone of extra. Love it ☕️🖤
My S8 uses the pill to clean it and is rather easy to do. About every 45 days. The filters are a killer though. They last one month which I think is a rip off.
@@DH-qz2so that is what I am going to do. I have paid $360 for filters over 3 years and really am tired of "renting" my S8. But would I still buy it again after almost 3 years? Hell yes, the best coffee ever. Bought the coffee cup warmer. The timer for that thing is just awful though and when power goes off you have to reset it.
1. How often you perform milk cleaning system? Is really necessary to perform this procedure every day after using milk? Package is declared for 60 milk cleaning? 2. I have very good home water filtering system. I will not use this S8 water filter?
I only use the milk cleaning once per day, not after every drink. Ill check the video I wouldn't imagine I would have said after every single use. I have a zero water water filter , thats zero hardness, since a tester confirms this I can set it with confidence. you should purchase a cheap hardness tester.
love the video I was looking to purchase this machine here in Canada it's roughly $3,000 that's expensive for an espresso machine but you get what you pay for hopefully... I will be using distilled water so I'm guessing there's no need for that water filter that supplied... it just seems like it's very expensive to maintain this machine with all these tablets and milk frother cleaner but it is one beautiful machine 👍... I was just wondering how hot is that milk that comes out for a cappuccino?
I use zero water the brand of filtration. Short of that, demineralized water. I Believe distilled maybe over the top. All of the temperatures are correct and set in the options. I have another video coming out on the cleaning supplies and costs.
This is all easy if you just follow the steps as prompted or in the manual. Why doesn’t anyone produce a video for more difficult issues like resetting the micro switch??? I can’t even see what it looks like do I know I’m doing the right thing.

Funny thing. We found the whole bean coffee from BJ’s to be awfully close to lavazza

Great demonstration. Thank you. I just bought this machine and get it Monday so I’m boning up.

All of the new cheap machines allow the brew group to be removed from the side for cleaning and maintenance. Jura does not allow for this.
I'm half way thru this video and had to comment. Well done and to the point. I'm in search of a good machine, and this is on my list.

I took out the grind guard. I push them down each night when I clean it for the next day.

What is the difference between coffee vs coffee times 2? My mom and I are trying to figure out if coffee times 2 uses two bean grinds/pod dumps?
It is one session that you can put 2 cups under the spouts. More beans are used but one puck is produced
Can i add just plain heated milk for a flat white with just a few seconds of foam on top?
Good review, though you didn’t show how to take the frother apart to rinse it.
Brilliant and straight to the point, thank you.
You re welcome
A good video that helps explain the daily use of these machines - nice one.
Glad you enjoyed it

Is there any appliance you know of that prepares food, especially dairy products that wouldn’t need to be cleaned once a day?
You're wrong. I have one for over a year now and it's great! The best option if you can get your hands on it.
Totally worth it!!

How do you bypass the filter because I have zero hardness it won’t let me get past the set up
There was a hardness setting i set to 3 in the beginning of the video... set it to 0
Where does the Wi-Fi adapter connect? Thx
On top as demonstrated in the video.
Im wondering if theres any chemical residue left over in the system after you clean it that could enter your coffee?
no, it rinses well.
Can you make 2 coffees at the same time?
Yes it can
Time stamp pls, I can't seem to find an opening on top of my S8 Thx

The Bluetooth adapter is really only good for maintenance. Other than that it is worthless for our house.
We’re gonna find out soon
You've gotta use some better quality beans, you're not getting good rich crema
I like my beans....
