      @@RG500_detectorist yes it's really fantastic machine and Coffee tastes superb, great to hear you enjoy new machine. We have changed from DeLonghi 2800 basic model to Jura E8 just last week and it's just perfect for home.
      Yes regarding filters if you have hard water it will eat them lot. Great prices and I think best has Ecookshop although Hart of spur will match that price as they did for me. Just send them email and they will do same price 30£ for 3 filters. Normally they should last 1month and a week. But it's all depend how hard water is in your tap, we have some filters installed prior to tap so not too bad in our machine.
      Also make sure to look after milk frother and tube, what I do is after each milk coffee, put tube into water glass and press Milk, let it suck water instead milk for 5sec and tube is nice and clean, once maybe twice a week clean entire milk system with milk fluid as per manual. Good Coffee beans and machine can do amazing coffes, like a barista, but just at home 😁. Take care and enjoy

      Hey... thanks for watching and commenting. Hope you enjoy your new machine. We start every day now with a triple flat white in a big cup! It's a pleasure making coffee now. I always thought cleaning and maintenance would be a pain, along with the machine becoming dirty or smelly but it's not the case. Really pleased with it still. The only small gripe is keep replacing the filter once a month because of London's ridiculously hard water but that's the price I suppose for a hassle free, great coffee. It is better than in the coffee shops, once you get it right. Love it and definitely a great purchase. Thanks again for your support. Please consider subscribing as I've lots of new toys I'm reviewing over Christmas. Happy Christmas 🎄🎄🎄

      Hi. Thanks for watching and commenting. I will be doing a follow up video very soon. So let me know if you need anything. A feature demo or any further information. Just be mindful that this unit does get through a lot of filters. I'm now using bottled water in a test by turning down the water hardness to see if they'll last longer. I have seen you can use it without filters but I'm unsure if that would seriously effect the lifespan of the unit. Overall, after several months of using it. It's Brilliant and makes fantastic coffee. The only things to check out are the filter prices as it'll probably go through at least 1 per month and you need to regularly clean the machine. Easy and automatic but something to think about. Thanks again. Rich

      Also, if you're in the UK, call Harts of stur and insist on the offer they gave me. You can explain you found them from my RUclips 'advert'. I'm not in any way connected to them but I think the unit is now much higher in price but believe in these difficult times they need to honour a deal. 😉

    Could you tell what it defaults to if both ground and beans are filled?
    I like to have decaf ground coffee at night and espressos in the morning

    • @RG500_detectorist
      @RG500_detectorist  2 года назад +1

      You can't fill the machine with ground coffee. Ground coffee is a manual process at the time of making.
      So your machine will be full of coffee beans and this is the default.
      When you wish to have ground coffee you simply lift the little door on the top to inform the machine.
      You then proceed to fill the machine, via the door and little shute with 2 Jura spoons max.
      Close the door, select the coffee type and off you go.
      Using ground coffee, I've found the machine can sometimes get a bit confused and it sometimes dumps it out but when you get used to the process, it should be fine.

    • @lolynnnn

      @@RG500_detectorist Jura customer service told me “if the powder chute is opened while the machine is running it will prepare ground coffee over beans.”

    I'm trying to find out how to make a cup of coffee larger than 8oz which the largest preprogrammed size. I follow the instructions with the 'press and hold', but the machine still stops on its own at about the 8oz. I am trying for approx 12-16oz Any advice?

    • @RG500_detectorist
      @RG500_detectorist  3 года назад +2

      Good afternoon Victoria from London! You could set the amount of coffee to the largest size, then work out how many seconds of milk you'd need to get to 16oz but then what happens if you want a smaller one one day, you'd have to reset the settings.
      All I do is set 50ml of coffee in the Flat white setting and 20 seconds of milk. If I want 16oz, which is exactly right for my morning coffee cup then I simply do a flat white x 3!
      You can watch my latest video where I demo this at 4 minutes and 7 seconds onwards. Search Rich Watson Jura E8 daily use review : 6 month follow up or use ruclips.net/video/6PMvczXRn6M/видео.html

      @@victoriazivyon9331 Hi. So I've checked in the expert mode settings and an expresso coffee from the centre spouts can be a max of 80ml (2.4 fl oz). Probably more in the double expresso. The flat white setting can be increased to 240ml (8.4 fl oz) but that would surely be super watery! The best setting I've found is 50ml shots. So 1.7 fluid oz per shot and just have as many as you want! I like my coffee strong so anything more than 60ml is too watery for me. I hope that helps. Thanks again. Rich

      The only time I ever heard of this is when people put ground coffee in the coffee chute and then don't brew it. If you have a problem I recommend contacting Jura. We sell a lot of these machines and they are used in the top cafes all over the world and I've never heard of this.

    • @RG500_detectorist
      @RG500_detectorist  4 года назад +1

      Yes occasionally we've found this when using beans and especially if using the ground coffee shute. A minor flaw that you need to work on if using ground coffee and the amount we've seen when grinding is so small, we've not worried about it.

      @@RG500_detectorist I ended up asking for a replacement. Basically it was grinding too much. More than the pot could handle hence overfilling. Causing grounds to be dumped on the back of the drip tray. New machine still dumps grinds but nowhere near as much.

      @RG500_detectorist  4 года назад +1

      @@mrsbelding2430 interesting! So thank you so much for sharing your update. Glad you've had it sorted. As I say, ours occasionally dumps, but not much and I've developed a knack when using ground coffee which seems to overcome any issues. Mine only issue would be the level of costly cleaning maintenance. I've been using genuine Jura products and our machine EATS filters. At least 1 per month. I'm now filling it with either tested bottle water which is a lot softer than London tap water or filtered Quooker tap water. A great tip after using the milk is, we always flush with a milk portion, except swap out for fresh water. Giving the system an instant flush. Thanks again. Richard

      Yes, a push of a button for hot water but obviously it instantly heats it and it comes from the water tank so you will have to keep refilling. One think to keep in mind, we live in an area of very hard water and this machine eats filters (unless you want to keep descaling) We are using at least 1 per month and they are around £13.00.
