- Hi guys welcome back! In today's video, we decided to react to a song from Rammstein because we really enjoyed the last one!! One of their songs most suggested to us is this one, Du Hast, and we can surely see why!! Although we do not understand most the lyrics aside from the chorus, we really enjoyed this one! The beat and everything! It was fun!

When it's about Rammstein, watch the live versions. The video clips are good but you need to see the lives above all ;)
"Sonne" with the music video is one of my favourites.
the song is about mutual trust and respect. The burning man was the imaginings of a woman who thought what will happen to him inside. But actually he chose his real friends who haven't betrayed him, so in the end they blew up a woman, with the whole car. Du Hast mich means: You have me.
It's a play on words too - because Hasst also means: hate and it sounds the same
Du hasst = You hate. Du hast = You have.
It's a piece of intentional wordplay, you don't know if he's saying "Have" or "Hate" until the following line.
Metal mixed with techno is pretty much what you call Industrial metal

In the early days, Rammstein became known because of their very original 'tanzmetall' sound. So, basically, dance music or techno combined with metal. Later on the dance vibe faded a little, but this song made them very popular in Germany and abroad!

It's a bit more than this. It's the Rammstein-like play with words. "Du has(s)t mich" can also be translated as "You hate me" (Du hasst mich) which makes more sense than "You have me". It's like an accusingly "You!", "You hate!", "You hate me!".

@@Noctua81 "You Have Me" totally makes sense, and that is the name of the song, as printed. It is about control - possessiveness on one hand and the urge to dominate on the other.

This song is about the short way from love to hate. Du hast mich gefragt/you asked me is part of german wedding vows but du has(s)t mich means you hate me. It's a wordplay.

Their singer is a trained pyrotechnician. Their concerts are literally fire. They aren’t allowed to bring their full pyro gear into a lot of countries! Also, hast can mean ‘have’ or ‘hate.’ They were deliberately ambiguous. Stay well!

Nobody knows why there is a burning guy. The only explanation is, they wanted some fire in the video.

This song is off the Sehnsucht album(1997) and a bonus secret song is Duhast but done in english and the lyrics say you hate me not you have me btw the other bonus song is Engel song in english also on another version of the Sehnsucht album which I had both it had the cover of the song Stripped

It's called Industrial metal. Sometimes EBM. That's when rock is mixed with 'techno'. There's a whole rabbit hole for you to explore. KMFDM would be my next try, but I can give you older Rammstein as well. Keeping in mind Rammstein were the post Cold War East German answer to the Yugoslavian Laibach.
